1(So) Vollendet war (wurde) die Welt (Himmel und Erde) und ihr ganzes Heer (alles darauf und darin),
2Darum erklärte (erachtete als)Gott am siebten Tag sein Werk (seine Arbeit), das er gemacht hatte, als vollendet; und er ruhte (hörte auf, feierte, arbeitete nicht) am siebten Tag von seinem ganzen Werk (seiner ganzen Arbeit), das er gemacht hatte.
3Gott segnete den siebten Tag und erklärte ihn für heilig (heiligte ihn), da er an ihm von seinem ganzen Werk (all seiner Arbeit), das er arbeitend (indem er es gemacht hatte) geschaffen hatte, geruht hatte.
4Dies ist das Hervorbringen Erzeugnis des Himmels und der Erde (des Landes), durch das sie geschaffen wurden. Zu dieser Zeit (Am Tag), machte JHWH Gott Erde (Land) und Himmel,
5Und alle Sträucher der Steppe waren noch nicht auf dem Land und alle Kräuter des Feldes wuchsen noch nicht (sprossen noch nicht empor), weil JHWH Gott es nicht regnen ließ über (auf) der Erde und es keinen Menschen gab, um den Ackerboden zu bestellen (bearbeiten).
6Und Nebel (Wolken) stiegen auf vom Land und tränkten (gaben zu trinken) das ganze Angesicht (die Oberfläche) des Ackerbodens.
7Und JHWH Gott bildete (gestaltete, formte) den Menschen aus loser Erde (Staub, Stoff) vom Ackerboden und er blies (atmete) in seine Nase Lebensatem (Lebenshauch) und der Mensch wurde zu einer lebendigen Seele (Person)(Lebewesen).
8Und JHWH Gott pflanzte einen Garten in Eden im Osten (von Osten her) und er setzte den Menschen, den er gebildet (gestaltet, geformt) hatte, dort hin.
9Und JHWH Gott ließ aus der Erde alle Bäume sprießen, schön anzusehen und gut zu essen, und den Baum des Lebens mitten in den Garten und den Baum der Erkenntnis von Gut und Böse.
10Nun war da ein Strom, der von Eden ausging, um den Garten zu bewässern, und von dort aus begann er sich zu teilen, und er wurde gleichsam zu vier Hauptflüssen.
11Der Name des ersten ist Pischon; es ist der, der das ganze Land Hawịla umfließt, wo es Gold gibt.
12Und das Gold jenes Landes ist gut. Dort gibt es auch das Bdelliumharz und den Onyxstein.
13Und der Name des zweiten Stromes ist Gihon; es ist der, der das ganze Land Kusch umfließt.
14Und der Name des dritten Stromes ist Hiddekel; es ist der, der östlich von Assyrien fließt. Und der vierte Strom ist der Eufrat.
15Und JHWH Gott nahm dann den Menschen und setzte ihn in den Garten Eden, damit (um zu) er ihn bewirtschaftete und pflegte.
16Und JHWH Gott gab den Menschen ein Gebot: Von jedem Baum darf man essen, bis man satt ist.
17Was aber den Baum der Erkenntnis von Gut und Böse betrifft, Finger weg! Denn am selben Tag wird man noch sterben, wenn man davon isst.
18Und JHWH Gott sagte: Es ist für den Menschen nicht gut, dass er weiterhin allein sei. Ich werde ihm eine Hilfe (einen Helfer, einen Beistand) machen als sein Gegenstück (die ihm ähnlich sei).
19Und JHWH Gott bildete aus dem Erdboden jedes wild lebende Tier des Feldes und jedes fliegende Geschöpf der Himmel, und er begann sie zu dem Menschen zu bringen, um zu sehen, wie er jedes nennen würde; und wie immer der Mensch sie, nämlich jede lebende Seele, nennen würde, das sei ihr Name.
20So (und) gab (nannte, rief) der Mensch allen Tieren und den Vögeln am Himmel und allen Tieren (jedem Tier) des Feldes Namen. Aber (und) für Adam (Mensch) fand sich (er) keine Hilfe (Helfer) als sein Gegenstück.
21Da (dann, deshalb, und) ließ (versetzte) JHWH Gott einen tiefen Schlaf über Adam fallen (kommen), so dass (und) er schlief. Dann (und) nahm er eine {von} seiner Rippen (Seiten) und verschloss die Stelle darunter (unter ihr) mit Fleisch.
22Dann (und) machte (erschuf, bildete, baute) JHWH Gott die Rippe (Seite), die er vom (aus dem) Menschen genommen hatte (nahm), zu einer Frau und brachte sie zu dem Menschen.
23Da (und) sagte der Mensch: Dies (diese) endlich (diesmal) ist Gebein (Bein, Knochen) von meinem Gebein und Fleisch von meinem Fleisch! Zu dieser wird „Frau“ gesagt (Sie wird „Frau“ genannt/gerufen) werden, weil diese vom Mann genommen wurde.
24Darum verlässt (lässt zurück; wird verlassen) ein Mann seinen Vater und seine Mutter und (um) vereint sich (bleiben bei, festhalten an; wird sich vereinen) mit seiner Frau, und (so dass, dann) sie werden (werden sein) zu einem Fleisch.
25{und} Sie waren beide nackt, der Mensch und seine Frau, aber (und) sie schämten sich nicht vor einander.

1Y FUERON acabados los cielos y la tierra, y todo su ornamento.
2Y acabó Dios en el día séptimo su obra que hizo, y reposó el día séptimo de toda su obra que había hecho.
3Y bendijo Dios al día séptimo, y santificólo, porque en él reposó de toda su obra que había Dios criado y hecho.
4Estos son los orígenes de los cielos y de la tierra cuando fueron criados, el día que Jehová Dios hizo la tierra y los cielos,
5Y toda planta del campo antes que fuese en la tierra, y toda hierba del campo antes que naciese: porque aun no había Jehová Dios hecho llover sobre la tierra, ni había hombre para que labrase la tierra;
6Mas subía de la tierra un vapor, que regaba toda la faz de la tierra.
7Formó, pues, Jehová Dios al hombre del polvo de la tierra, y alentó en su nariz soplo de vida; y fué el hombre en alma viviente.
8Y había Jehová Dios plantado un huerto en Edén al oriente, y puso allí al hombre que había formado.
9Y había Jehová Dios hecho nacer de la tierra todo árbol delicioso á la vista, y bueno para comer: también el árbol de vida en medio del huerto, y el árbol de ciencia del bien y del mal.
10Y salía de Edén un río para regar el huerto, y de allí se repartía en cuatro ramales.
11El nombre del uno era Pisón: éste es el que cerca toda la tierra de Havilah, donde hay oro:
12Y el oro de aquella tierra es bueno: hay allí también bdelio y piedra cornerina.
13El nombre del segundo río es Gihón: éste es el que rodea toda la tierra de Etiopía.
14Y el nombre del tercer río es Hiddekel: éste es el que va delante de Asiria. Y el cuarto río es el Eufrates.
15Tomó, pues, Jehová Dios al hombre, y le puso en el huerto de Edén, para que lo labrara y lo guardase.
16Y mandó Jehová Dios al hombre, diciendo: De todo árbol del huerto comerás;
17Mas del árbol de ciencia del bien y del mal no comerás de él; porque el día que de él comieres, morirás.
18Y dijo Jehová Dios: No es bueno que el hombre esté solo; haréle ayuda idónea para él.
19Formó, pues, Jehová Dios de la tierra toda bestia del campo, y toda ave de los cielos, y trájolas á Adam, para que viese cómo les había de llamar; y todo lo que Adam llamó á los animales vivientes, ese es su nombre.
20Y puso Adam nombres á toda bestia y ave de los cielos y á todo animal del campo: mas para Adam no halló ayuda que estuviese idónea para él.
21Y Jehová Dios hizo caer sueño sobre Adam, y se quedó dormido: entonces tomó una de sus costillas, y cerró la carne en su lugar;
22Y de la costilla que Jehová Dios tomó del hombre, hizo una mujer, y trájola al hombre.
23Y dijo Adam: Esto es ahora hueso de mis huesos, y carne de mi carne: ésta será llamada Varona, porque del varón fué tomada.
24Por tanto, dejará el hombre á su padre y á su madre, y allegarse ha á su mujer, y serán una sola carne.
25Y estaban ambos desnudos, Adam y su mujer, y no se avergonzaban.

1Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
4These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
5And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
11The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
15And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
18And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

1The heavens, the earth, and all their vast array were finished.
2On the seventh day God finished his work which he had done; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.
3God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work of creation which he had done.
4This is the history of the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.
5No plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth. There was not a man to till the ground,
6but a mist went up from the earth, and watered the whole surface of the ground.
7The LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8The LORD God planted a garden eastward, in Eden, and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9Out of the ground the LORD God made every tree to grow that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food, including the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
10A river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it was parted, and became the source of four rivers.
11The name of the first is Pishon: it flows through the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12and the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and onyx stone are also there.
13The name of the second river is Gihon. It is the same river that flows through the whole land of Cush.
14The name of the third river is Hiddekel. This is the one which flows in front of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
15The LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it.
16The LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;
17but you shall not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”
18The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
19Out of the ground the LORD God formed every animal of the field, and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature became its name.
20The man gave names to all livestock, and to the birds of the sky, and to every animal of the field; but for man there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21The LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. As the man slept, he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
22The LORD God made a woman from the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.
23The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.”
24Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.
25The man and his wife were both naked, and they were not ashamed.
