DANN machte sich Jakob auf den Weg und wanderte nach dem Land im Osten.

Y SIGUIÓ Jacob su camino, y fué á la tierra de los orientales.

Y miró, y vió un pozo en el campo: y he aquí tres rebaños de ovejas que yacían cerca de él; porque de aquel pozo abrevaban los ganados: y había una gran piedra sobre la boca del pozo.

And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well’s mouth.

Und wenn alle Herden dort beisammen waren, wälzte man den Stein von der Öffnung des Brunnens und tränkte die Schafe; dann brachte man den Stein wieder über die Öffnung des Brunnens an seine Stelle.

Y juntábanse allí todos los rebaños; y revolvían la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevaban las ovejas; y volvían la piedra sobre la boca del pozo á su lugar.

And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well’s mouth in his place.

Jakob sprach zu den Leuten: Meine Brüder, wo seid ihr her? Sie antworteten: Wir sind von Haran.

Y díjoles Jacob: Hermanos míos, ¿de dónde sois? Y ellos respondieron: De Harán somos.

And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we.

Jacob said to them, “My relatives, where are you from?” They said, “We are from Haran.”

Er sprach zu ihnen: Kennt ihr Laban, den Sohn Nahors? Sie antworteten: Gewiss, wir kennen ihn.

Y él les dijo: ¿Conocéis á Labán, hijo de Nachôr? Y ellos dijeron: Sí, le conocemos.

And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.

He said to them, “Do you know Laban, the son of Nahor?” They said, “We know him.”

Er sprach zu ihnen: Steht es wohl um ihn? Sie antworteten: Ja, es steht wohl um ihn; doch sieh, da kommt eben seine Tochter Rahel mit den Schafen.

Y él les dijo: ¿Tiene paz? Y ellos dijeron: Paz; y he aquí Rachêl su hija viene con el ganado.

And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep.

He said to them, “Is it well with him?” They said, “It is well. See, Rachel, his daughter, is coming with the sheep.”

Er sprach: Es ist ja noch hoch am Tage und noch nicht Zeit, das Vieh einzutreiben; tränkt die Schafe und dann lasst sie wieder weiden.

Y él dijo: He aquí el día es aún grande; no es tiempo todavía de recoger el ganado; abrevad las ovejas, é id á apacentarlas.

And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them.

He said, “Behold, it is still the middle of the day, not time to gather the livestock together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”

Sie antworteten: Das können wir nicht, bis alle Herden beisammen sind; dann wälzt man den Stein von der Öffnung des Brunnens, und wir tränken die Schafe.

Y ellos respondieron: No podemos, hasta que se junten todos los ganados, y remuevan la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, para que abrevemos las ovejas.

And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.

Während er noch mit ihnen redete, war Rahel mit den Schafen ihres Vaters herangekommen; denn sie pflegte sie zu hüten.

And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep: for she kept them.

Y sucedió que, como Jacob vió á Rachêl, hija de Labán hermano de su madre, y á las ovejas de Labán el hermano de su madre, llegóse Jacob, y removió la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevó el ganado de Labán hermano de su madre.

And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother.

Als nun Laban die Kunde von Jakob, dem Sohne seiner Schwester, hörte, lief er ihm entgegen, umarmte und küsste ihn und führte ihn in sein Haus. Und er erzählte dem Laban seine ganze Geschichte.

Y así que oyó Labán las nuevas de Jacob, hijo de su hermana, corrió á recibirlo, y abrazólo, y besólo, y trájole á su casa: y él contó á Labán todas estas cosas.

And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister’s son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.

Da sprach Laban zu ihm: Ja, du bist von meinem Fleisch und Bein. Und er blieb einen Monat bei ihm.

And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.

Darnach sprach Laban zu Jakob: Du bist ja doch mein Verwandter; solltest du mir umsonst dienen? Sag an: was soll dein Lohn sein?

Entonces dijo Labán á Jacob: ¿Por ser tú mi hermano, me has de servir de balde? declárame qué será tu salario.

And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be?

Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my relative, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what will your wages be?”

Nun hatte Laban zwei Töchter; die ältere hiess Lea und die jüngere Rahel.

And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.

Laban antwortete: Es ist besser, ich gebe sie dir, als dass ich sie einem fremden Manne gebe; bleibe bei mir.

Y Labán respondió: Mejor es que te la dé á ti, que no que la dé á otro hombre: estáte conmigo.

And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me.

Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you, than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.”

Also diente Jakob um Rahel sieben Jahre, und sie kamen ihm vor wie ein paar Tage, so lieb hatte er sie.

Así sirvió Jacob por Rachêl siete años: y pareciéronle como pocos días, porque la amaba.

And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

Dann sprach Jakob zu Laban: Gib mir nun mein Weib - denn meine Zeit ist um -, dass ich ihr beiwohne.

And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.

Da lud Laban alle Leute des Ortes ein und veranstaltete ein Festmahl.

And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an handmaid.

Am Morgen aber, siehe, da war es Lea! Da sprach Jakob zu Laban: Was hast du mir angetan! Habe ich dir nicht um Rahel gedient? Warum hast du mich betrogen?

Y venida la mañana, he aquí que era Lea: y él dijo á Labán: ¿Qué es esto que me has hecho? ¿no te he servido por Rachêl? ¿por qué, pues, me has engañado?

And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?

In the morning, behold, it was Leah! He said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”

Laban antwortete: Es ist hierzuland nicht Sitte, dass man die jüngere vor der ältern weggebe.

Y Labán respondió: No se hace así en nuestro lugar, que se dé la menor antes de la mayor.

And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.

Vollende mit dieser die Festwoche, dann wollen wir dir auch die andre geben um den Dienst, den du bei mir noch weitere sieben Jahre tun sollst.

Cumple la semana de ésta, y se te dará también la otra, por el servicio que hicieres conmigo otros siete años.

Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.

Fulfill the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you will serve with me for seven more years.”

Jakob tat es und vollendete die Woche. Dann gab ihm jener seine Tochter Rahel zum Weibe.

E hizo Jacob así, y cumplió la semana de aquélla: y él le dió á Rachêl su hija por mujer.

And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.

Da wohnte Jakob auch der Rahel bei; Rahel aber hatte er lieber als Lea. Und er diente bei ihm noch weitere sieben Jahre.

Y entró también á Rachêl: y amóla también más que á Lea: y sirvió con él aún otros siete años.

And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

ALS aber der Herr sah, dass Lea zurückgesetzt war, machte er sie fruchtbar, während Rahel unfruchtbar blieb.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

Und noch einmal ward sie schwanger und gebar einen Sohn; und sie sprach: Nunmehr will ich den Herrn preisen! Darum nannte sie ihn Juda. Darnach hörte sie auf zu gebären.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Esta vez alabaré á Jehová: por esto llamó su nombre Judá: y dejó de parir.

And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.
