1Isaque chamou Jacó, abençoou-o, e ordenou-lhe: "Não tomes mulher dentre as cananéias.
2Levanta-te, vai a Padã-Arã, à casa de Betuel, pai de tua mãe, e toma de lá uma mulher, uma das filhas de Labão, irmão de tua mãe.
3Que o Deus Todo Poderoso te abençoe, e te faça frutificar, e te multiplique para que te tornes uma multidão de povos.
4Que Ele te dê a bênção de Abraão, a ti e a teus descendentes, para que possas herdar a terra onde tu tens peregrinado, a qual Deus prometeu a Abraão".
5Assim Isaque despediu-se de Jacó, que se foi para Padã-Arã, à casa de Labão, que era filho de Betuel, o arameu, e irmão de Rebeca, mãe de Jacó e Esaú.
6Então, Esaú viu que Isaque abençoou Jacó e o enviou à Padã-Arã para tomar uma esposa de lá. Ele também viu que, abençoando-o, Isaque tinha dado uma ordem dizendo: "Não tomes uma esposa dentre as cananeias".
7Esaú também viu que Jacó havia obedecido a seu pai e sua mãe, e ido até Padã-Arã.
8Esaú viu que as mulheres de Canaã não agradavam Isaac, seu pai.
9Então, ele foi a Ismael e, apesar das mulheres que já possuía, tomou Maalate por mulher, filha de Ismael, filho de Abraão, e irmã de Nabaiote.
10Partiu Jacó de Berseba e seguiu para Harã.
11Tendo chegado a certo lugar para pernoitar, porque o sol já era posto, pegou uma das pedras, colocou embaixp de sua cabeça e se deitou ali para dormir.
12Ele sonhou e viu uma escada posta sobre a terra cujo topo alcançava o céu; e os anjos de Deus subiam e desciam por ela.
13Acima dela, estava Yahweh, que disse: "Eu sou Yahweh, o Deus de teu pai Abraão, e o Deus de Isaque. A terra em que estás deitado darei a ti e a teus descendentes.
14Tua descendência será como o pó da terra, e tu te estenderás para o ocidente, para o oriente, para o norte e para o sul; todas as famílias da terra serão abençoadas por meio de ti e de teus descendentes.
15Eis que estou contigo e te guardarei por onde fores. Eu te farei retornar a esta terra; não te deixarei, até que se tenha cumprido tudo o que te prometi".
16Jacó acordou do seu sono e disse: "Realmente, Yahweh está neste lugar e eu não sabia". Ele temeu e disse:
17"Quão terrível é este lugar! Este não é outro lugar, senão a casa de Deus; esta é a porta para o céu".
18Então, Jacó levantou-se cedo pela manhã, tomou a pedra que havia usado como travesseiro, a pôs por coluna e derramou óleo sobre ela.
19Chamou aquele lugar de Betel, mas o nome da cidade era originalmente Luz.
20E Jacó fez um voto, dizendo: "Se Deus estiver comigo e me proteger nesta jornada, e me der pão para comer, roupas para vestir,
21para que eu retorne salvo para a casa de meu pai, então, Yahweh será meu Deus.
22E esta pedra que tenho posto por coluna será Casa de Deus, e de tudo quanto me deres, certamente eu darei um décimo a Ti".

1ENTONCES Isaac llamó á Jacob, y bendíjolo, y mandóle diciendo: No tomes mujer de las hijas de Canaán.
2Levántate, ve á Padan-aram, á casa de Bethuel, padre de tu madre, y toma allí mujer de las hijas de Labán, hermano de tu madre.
3Y el Dios omnipotente te bendiga, y te haga fructificar, y te multiplique, hasta venir á ser congregación de pueblos;
4Y te dé la bendición de Abraham, y á tu simiente contigo, para que heredes la tierra de tus peregrinaciones, que Dios dió á Abraham.
5Así envió Isaac á Jacob, el cual fué á Padan-aram, á Labán, hijo de Bethuel Arameo, hermano de Rebeca, madre de Jacob y de Esaú.
6Y vió Esaú cómo Isaac había bendecido á Jacob, y le había enviado á Padan-aram, para tomar para sí mujer de allí; y que cuando le bendijo, le había mandado, diciendo: No tomarás mujer de las hijas de Canaán;
7Y que Jacob había obedecido á su padre y á su madre, y se había ido á Padan-aram.
8Vió asimismo Esaú que las hijas de Canaán parecían mal á Isaac su padre;
9Y fuése Esaú á Ismael, y tomó para sí por mujer á Mahaleth, hija de Ismael, hijo de Abraham, hermana de Nabaioth, además de sus otras mujeres.
10Y salió Jacob de Beer-seba, y fué á Harán;
11Y encontró con un lugar, y durmió allí, porque ya el sol se había puesto: y tomó de las piedras de aquel paraje y puso á su cabecera, y acostóse en aquel lugar.
12Y soñó, y he aquí una escala que estaba apoyada en tierra, y su cabeza tocaba en el cielo: y he aquí ángeles de Dios que subían y descendían por ella.
13Y he aquí, Jehová estaba en lo alto de ella, el cual dijo: Yo soy Jehová, el Dios de Abraham tu padre, y el Dios de Isaac: la tierra en que estás acostado te la daré á ti y á tu simiente.
14Y será tu simiente como el polvo de la tierra, y te extenderás al occidente, y al oriente, y al aquilón, y al mediodía; y todas las familias de la tierra serán benditas en ti y en tu simiente.
15Y he aquí, yo soy contigo, y te guardaré por donde quiera que fueres, y te volveré á esta tierra; porque no te dejaré hasta tanto que haya hecho lo que te he dicho.
16Y despertó Jacob de su sueño, y dijo: Ciertamente Jehová está en este lugar, y yo no lo sabía.
17Y tuvo miedo, y dijo: ¡Cuán terrible es este lugar! No es otra cosa que casa de Dios, y puerta del cielo.
18Y levantóse Jacob de mañana, y tomó la piedra que había puesto de cabecera, y alzóla por título, y derramó aceite encima de ella.
19Y llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Beth-el, bien que Luz era el nombre de la ciudad primero.
20E hizo Jacob voto, diciendo: Si fuere Dios conmigo, y me guardare en este viaje que voy, y me diere pan para comer y vestido para vestir,
21Y si tornare en paz á casa de mi padre, Jehová será mi Dios,
22Y esta piedra que he puesto por título, será casa de Dios: y de todo lo que me dieres, el diezmo lo he de apartar para ti.

1And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.
2Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother’s father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother’s brother.
3And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;
4And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.
5And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padan-aram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.
6When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padan-aram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;
7And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan-aram;
8And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;
9Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.
10And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran.
11And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
12And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
13And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
16And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.
17And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
18And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
19And he called the name of that place Beth-el: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.
20And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
21So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:
22And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
World English Bible
1Isaac called Jacob, blessed him, and commanded him, “You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.
2Arise, go to Paddan Aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother’s father. Take a wife from there from the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother.
3May God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, that you may be a company of peoples,
4and give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your offspring with you, that you may inherit the land where you travel, which God gave to Abraham.”
5Isaac sent Jacob away. He went to Paddan Aram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.
6Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan Aram, to take him a wife from there, and that as he blessed him he gave him a command, saying, “You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;”
7and that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Paddan Aram.
8Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan didn’t please Isaac, his father.
9So Esau went to Ishmael, and took, in addition to the wives that he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.
10Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
11He came to a certain place, and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. He took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep.
12He dreamed and saw a stairway set upon the earth, and its top reached to heaven. Behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
13Behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, “I am the LORD, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. I will give the land you lie on to you and to your offspring.
14Your offspring will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. In you and in your offspring, all the families of the earth will be blessed.
15Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”
16Jacob awakened out of his sleep, and he said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I didn’t know it.”
17He was afraid, and said, “How awesome this place is! This is none other than God’s house, and this is the gate of heaven.”
18Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on its top.
19He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.
20Jacob vowed a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on,
21so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, and the LORD will be my God,
22then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God’s house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give a tenth to you.”
