Abraham aber nahm nochmals ein Weib, Namens Ketura,

Y ABRAHAM tomó otra mujer, cuyo nombre fué Cetura;

Isaak aber war vierzig Jahre alt, als er sich Rebeka, die Tochter des Aramäers Bethuel aus Mesopotamien, die Schwester des Aramäers Laban, zum Weibe nahm.

And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

Isaak aber liebte den Esau, denn Wildbret war nach seinem Geschmack; Rebeka dagegen liebte mehr den Jakob.

Y amó Isaac á Esaú, porque comía de su caza; mas Rebeca amaba á Jacob.

And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Einst kochte Jakob ein Gericht; da kam Esau ganz verschmachtet aus der Steppe.

Da sprach Esau: Ach, ich muß schließlich doch sterben; was soll mir da das Erstgeburtsrecht!

Entonces dijo Esaú: He aquí yo me voy á morir; ¿para qué, pues, me servirá la primogenitura?

And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

Esau said, “Behold, I am about to die. What good is the birthright to me?”

Jakob sprach: Schwöre es mir zuvor zu! Da schwur er ihm und verkaufte so an Jakob sein Erstgeburtsrecht.

Y dijo Jacob: Júramelo en este día. Y él le juró, y vendió á Jacob su primogenitura.

And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” He swore to him. He sold his birthright to Jacob.

Jakob aber gab dem Esau Brot und ein Gericht Linsen. Da aß er und trank, stand auf und ging davon; so verscherzte Esau leichtfertig sein Erstgeburtsrecht.

Entonces Jacob dió á Esaú pan y del guisado de las lentejas; y él comió y bebió, y levantóse, y fuése. Así menospreció Esaú la primogenitura.
