Toda a terra tinha uma só língua e uma só fala.

Ao viajarem para o oriente, encontraram uma planície na terra de Sinar, e ali habitaram.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

Disseram uns aos outros: “Venham, vamos fazer tijolos e queimá-los bem.” Eles tinham tijolos em vez de pedras, e usavam piche como argamassa.

Y dijeron los unos á los otros: Vaya, hagamos ladrillo y cozámoslo con fuego. Y fuéles el ladrillo en lugar de piedra, y el betún en lugar de mezcla.

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.

Disseram: “Venham, vamos construir para nós uma cidade e uma torre cujo topo chegue até o céu, e vamos fazer um nome para nós, para que não sejamos espalhados sobre a face de toda a terra.”

Y dijeron: Vamos, edifiquémonos una ciudad y una torre, cuya cúspide llegue al cielo; y hagámonos un nombre, por si fuéremos esparcidos sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

They said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”

O SENHOR desceu para ver a cidade e a torre que os filhos dos homens construíam.

Y descendió Jehová para ver la ciudad y la torre que edificaban los hijos de los hombres.

And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

O SENHOR disse: “Eis que eles são um só povo, e todos têm uma só língua; e isso é o que começam a fazer. Agora, nada do que pretendem fazer lhes será impedido.

Y dijo Jehová: He aquí el pueblo es uno, y todos éstos tienen un lenguaje: y han comenzado á obrar, y nada les retraerá ahora de lo que han pensando hacer.

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

The LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing will be withheld from them, which they intend to do.

Venham, vamos descer e confundir ali a língua deles, para que não entendam a fala uns dos outros.”

Ahora pues, descendamos, y confundamos allí sus lenguas, para que ninguno entienda el habla de su compañero.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

Assim, o SENHOR os espalhou dali sobre a face de toda a terra. E eles pararam de construir a cidade.

Así los esparció Jehová desde allí sobre la faz de toda la tierra, y dejaron de edificar la ciudad.

So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

Por isso, o seu nome foi chamado Babel, porque ali o SENHOR confundiu a língua de toda a terra. Dali, o SENHOR os espalhou sobre a face de toda a terra.

Por esto fué llamado el nombre de ella Babel, porque allí confundió Jehová el lenguaje de toda la tierra, y desde allí los esparció sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Selá viveu trinta anos, e gerou a Héber.

Y vivió Sala treinta años, y engendró á Heber.

And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

Y vivió Heber treinta y cuatro años, y engendró á Peleg.

Naor viveu vinte e nove anos, e gerou a Terá.

Y vivió Nachôr veintinueve años, y engendró á Thare.

And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:

Nahor lived twenty-nine years, and became the father of Terah.

Naor viveu cento e dezenove anos depois que gerou a Terá, e gerou outros filhos e filhas.

Y vivió Nachôr, después que engendró á Thare, ciento diecinueve años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

Terá viveu setenta anos, e gerou a Abrão, a Naor e a Harã.

Y vivió Thare setenta años, y engendró á Abram, y á Nachôr, y á Harán.

And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Terah lived seventy years, and became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Ora, esta é a história das gerações de Terá. Terá gerou a Abrão, a Naor e a Harã. Harã gerou a Ló.

Estas son las generaciones de Thare: Thare engendró á Abram, y á Nachôr, y á Harán; y Harán engendró á Lot.

Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

Now this is the history of the generations of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran became the father of Lot.

Harã morreu na terra do seu nascimento, em Ur dos Caldeus, enquanto seu pai Terá ainda estava vivo.

Y murió Harán antes que su padre Thare en la tierra de su naturaleza, en Ur de los Caldeos.

And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

Haran died in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees, while his father Terah was still alive.

Abrão e Naor tomaram esposas para si. O nome da esposa de Abrão era Sarai, e o nome da esposa de Naor era Milca, filha de Harã, que também foi o pai de Isca.

Y tomaron Abram y Nachôr para sí mujeres: el nombre de la mujer de Abram fué Sarai, y el nombre de la mujer de Nachôr, Milca, hija de Harán, padre de Milca y de Isca.

And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

Abram and Nahor married wives. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, who was also the father of Iscah.

Sarai era estéril. Ela não tinha filhos.

Mas Sarai fué estéril, y no tenía hijo.

But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

Terá tomou seu filho Abrão, seu neto Ló, filho de Harã, e sua nora Sarai, esposa de seu filho Abrão. Eles saíram de Ur dos Caldeus para ir à terra de Canaã. Chegaram a Harã e habitaram ali.

Y tomó Thare á Abram su hijo, y á Lot hijo de Harán, hijo de su hijo, y á Sarai su nuera, mujer de Abram su hijo: y salió con ellos de Ur de los Caldeos, para ir á la tierra de Canaán: y vinieron hasta Harán, y asentaron allí.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

Os dias de Terá foram duzentos e cinco anos. Terá morreu em Harã.

Y fueron los días de Thare doscientos y cinco años; y murió Thare en Harán.

And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
