1¡Oh gálatas insensatos!, ¿quién os ha fascinado, o hechizado, para desobedecer así a la verdad?, vosotros, ante cuyos ojos ha sido ya representado Jesucristo como crucificado en vosotros mismos.
2Una sola cosa deseo saber de vosotros: ¿Habéis recibido al Espíritu Santo por las obras de la ley, o por la obediencia a la fe que se os ha predicado?
3¿Tan necios sois, que habiendo comenzado por el Espíritu, ahora vengáis a parar en la carne?
4Tanto como habéis sufrido por Jesucristo, ¿será en vano? Pero yo espero en Dios que al cabo no ha de ser en vano.
5Ahora, pues, aquel que os comunica el Espíritu Santo, y obra milagros entre vosotros, ¿lo hace por virtud de obras de la ley, o por la fe que habéis oído predicar?
6Ciertamente que por la fe, según está escrito: Creyó Abrahán a Dios, y su fe se le aceptó por justicia.
7Reconoced, pues, que los que abrazan la fe, esos son los verdaderos hijos de Abrahán.
8Así es que Dios en la Escritura previendo que había de justificar a los gentiles por medio de la fe, lo anunció de antemano a Abrahán diciendo: En ti serán benditas todas las gentes.
9Luego los que tienen fe, ésos son benditos con el fiel Abrahán.
10En lugar de que todos los que se apoyan en las obras de la ley, están sujetos a maldición. Pues está escrito: Maldito es cualquiera que no observare constantemente todo lo que está escrito en el libro de la ley.
11Por lo demás, el que nadie se justifica delante de Dios por la ley, está claro, porque el justo vive por la fe.
12La ley no tiene el ser, o no se deriva, de la fe; sólo, sí, el que la cumpliere vivirá en ella.
13Cristo nos redimió de la maldición de la ley, habiéndose hecho por nosotros objeto de maldición; pues está escrito: Maldito todo aquel que es colgado en un madero.
14Y todo esto, para que la bendición de Abrahán cupiese a los gentiles por Jesucristo, a fin de que así por medio de la fe recibiésemos la promesa del Espíritu Santo.
15Hermanos míos después que un hombre ha otorgado en debida forma un testamento, nadie puede ni anularlo, ni alterarlo;
16las promesas se hicieron a Abrahán y al descendiente de él. No dice: y a los descendientes, como si fuesen muchos; sino como uno precisamente: y al desciendiente de ti, el cual es Cristo .
17Lo que quiero, pues, decir, es que habiendo hecho Dios una alianza con Abrahán en debida forma, la ley dada cuatrocientos treinta años después no ha podido anularla, ni invalidar la promesa.
18Porque si la herencia esta de bendiciones espirituales se nos da por la ley, ya no es por la promesa. Y Dios hizo por medio de la promesa la donación a Abrahán.
19Pues ¿de qué ha servido, diréis, la ley? Se puso por freno de las trasgresiones, hasta que viniese el descendiente de Abrahán, a quien se hizo la promesa, siendo dicha ley dada por mano de los ángeles, por medio del medianero Moisés.
20No hay mediador de uno solo; y Dios al hacer la promesa a Abrahán es uno.
21Luego replicaréis: ¿La ley es contra las promesas de Dios? No, por cierto. Porque si se hubiese dado una ley que pudiese vivificar o justificar, la justicia o santidad provendría realmente de la ley, y no de la fe.
22Mas la ley escrita dejó sujetos a todos al pecado, para que la promesa se cumpliese a los creyentes por la fe en Jesucristo.
23Así antes del tiempo de la fe, estábamos como encerrados bajo la custodia de la ley hasta recibir la fe, que había de ser revelada.
24De manera que la ley fue nuestro maestro que nos condujo a Cristo , por medio de los sacrificios y ceremonias, para ser justificados por la fe en él.
25Mas venida la fe, ya no estamos sujetos al maestro.
26Porque todos sois hijos de Dios por la fe en Jesucristo.
27Pues todos los que habéis sido bautizados en Cristo , estás revestidos de Cristo ,
28y ya no hay distinción de judío ni griego; ni de siervo ni libre; ni tampoco de hombre ni mujer. Porque todos vosotros sois una cosa en Jesucristo.
29Y siendo vosotros miembros de Cristo , sois por consiguiente hijos de Abrahán, y los herederos según la promesa.

1¡OH Gálatas insensatos! ¿quién os fascinó, para no obedecer á la verdad, ante cuyos ojos Jesucristo fué ya descrito como crucificado entre vosotros?
2Esto solo quiero saber de vosotros: ¿Recibisteis el Espíritu por las obras de la ley, ó por el oir de la fe?
3¿Tan necios sois? ¿habiendo comenzado por el Espíritu, ahora os perfeccionáis por la carne?
4¿Tantas cosas habéis padecido en vano? si empero en vano.
5Aquel, pues, que os daba el Espíritu, y obraba maravillas entre vosotros ¿hacíalo por las obras de la ley, ó por el oir de la fe?
6Como Abraham creyó á Dios, y le fué imputado á justicia.
7Sabéis por tanto, que los que son de fe, los tales son hijos de Abraham.
8Y viendo antes la Escritura que Dios por la fe había de justificar á los Gentiles, evangelizó antes á Abraham, diciendo: En ti serán benditas todas las naciones.
9Luego los de la fe son benditos con el creyente Abraham.
10Porque todos los que son de las obras de la ley, están bajo de maldición. Porque escrito está: Maldito todo aquel que no permaneciere en todas las cosas que están escritas en el libro de la ley, para hacerlas.
11Mas por cuanto por la ley ninguno se justifica para con Dios, queda manifiesto: Que el justo por la fe vivirá.
12La ley también no es de la fe; sino, El hombre que los hiciere, vivirá en ellos.
13Cristo nos redimió de la maldición de la ley, hecho por nosotros maldición; (porque está escrito: Maldito cualquiera que es colgado en madero:)
14Para que la bendición de Abraham fuese sobre los Gentiles en Cristo Jesús; para que por la fe recibamos la promesa del Espíritu.
15Hermanos, hablo como hombre: Aunque un pacto sea de hombre, con todo, siendo confirmado, nadie lo cancela, ó le añade.
16A Abraham fueron hechas las promesas, y á su simiente. No dice: Y á las simientes, como de muchos; sino como de uno: Y á tu simiente, la cual es Cristo.
17Esto pues digo: Que el contrato confirmado de Dios para con Cristo, la ley que fué hecha cuatrocientos treinta años después, no lo abroga, para invalidar la promesa.
18Porque si la herencia es por la ley, ya no es por la promesa: empero Dios por la promesa hizo la donación á Abraham.
19¿Pues de qué sirve la ley? Fué puesta por causa de las rebeliones, hasta que viniese la simiente á quien fué hecha la promesa, ordenada aquélla por los ángeles en la mano de un mediador.
20Y el mediador no es de uno, pero Dios es uno.
21¿Luego la ley es contra las promesas de Dios? En ninguna manera: porque si la ley dada pudiera vivificar, la justicia fuera verdaderamente por la ley.
22Mas encerró la Escritura todo bajo pecado, para que la promesa fuese dada á los creyentes por la fe de Jesucristo.
23Empero antes que viniese la fe, estábamos guardados bajo la ley, encerrados para aquella fe que había de ser descubierta.
24De manera que la ley nuestro ayo fué para llevarnos á Cristo, para que fuésemos justificados por la fe.
25Mas venida la fe, ya no estamos bajo ayo;
26Porque todos sois hijos de Dios por la fe en Cristo Jesús.
27Porque todos los que habéis sido bautizados en Cristo, de Cristo estáis vestidos.
28No hay Judío, ni Griego; no hay siervo, ni libre; no hay varón, ni hembra: porque todos vosotros sois uno en Cristo Jesús.
29Y si vosotros sois de Cristo, ciertamente la simiente de Abraham sois, y conforme á la promesa los herederos.

1O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

1Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed among you as crucified?
2I just want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
3Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?
4Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?
5He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
6Even so, Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.”
7Know therefore that those who are of faith are children of Abraham.
8The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you all the nations will be blessed.”
9So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.”
11Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.”
12The law is not of faith, but, “The man who does them will live by them.”
13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,”
14that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15Brothers, speaking of human terms, though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void or adds to it.
16Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his offspring. He doesn’t say, “To descendants”, as of many, but as of one, “To your offspring”, which is Christ.
17Now I say this: A covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ, the law, which came four hundred thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect.
18For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.
19Then why is there the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.
20Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.
21Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.
22But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
26For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.
27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring and heirs according to promise.
