MAS viendo el pueblo que Moisés tardaba en descender del monte, allegóse entonces á Aarón, y dijéronle: Levántate, haznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros; porque á este Moisés, aquel varón que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le haya acontecido.
And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

El cual los tomó de las manos de ellos, y formólo con buril, é hizo de ello un becerro de fundición. Entonces dijeron: Israel, estos son tus dioses, que te sacaron de la tierra de Egipto.

ils se sont promptement écartés de la voie que je leur ai prescrite : ils se sont fabriqué un veau de fonte et l'ont adoré, et lui ont fait des sacrifices et ont dit : Israël, c'est là ton Dieu qui t'a tiré du pays d'Egypte.

or maintenant donc laisse-moi agir ; il faut que ma colère s'allume contre eux et que je les détruise, mais de toi je ferai une grande nation.
Ahora pues, déjame que se encienda mi furor en ellos, y los consuma: y á ti yo te pondré sobre gran gente.
Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

Et Moïse chercha à apaiser l'Éternel, son Dieu, et dit : Éternel, pourquoi ta colère s'allumerait-elle contre ton peuple que tu as tiré du pays d'Egypte par une grande force et d'une main puissante ?
Entonces Moisés oró á la faz de Jehová su Dios, y dijo: Oh Jehová, ¿por qué se encenderá tu furor en tu pueblo, que tú sacaste de la tierra de Egipto con gran fortaleza, y con mano fuerte?
And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
Moses begged the LORD his God, and said, “LORD, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, that you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?
Pourquoi les Égyptiens diraient-ils : C'est pour leur perte qu'il les a fait partir, afin de les tuer dans les montagnes et de les exterminer de la face de la terre ? Reviens de ton courroux qui s'enflamme, et repens-toi de la menace que tu as faite à ton peuple.
¿Por qué han de hablar los Egipcios, diciendo: Para mal los sacó, para matarlos en los montes, y para raerlos de sobre la haz de la tierra? Vuélvete del furor de tu ira, y arrepiéntete del mal de tu pueblo.
Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
Why should the Egyptians talk, saying, ‘He brought them out for evil, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the surface of the earth’? Turn from your fierce wrath, and turn away from this evil against your people.
Souviens-toi d'Abraham, d'Isaac et d'Israël, tes serviteurs, auxquels tu as juré par toi-même et auxquels tu as dit : Je multiplierai votre postérité comme les étoiles du ciel, et tout ce pays que j'ai promis, je le donnerai à vos descendants en propriété éternelle.

Alors l'Éternel se repentit de la menace qu'il avait dit vouloir exécuter sur son peuple.
Entonces Jehová se arrepintió del mal que dijo que había de hacer á su pueblo.
And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

Et lorsqu'il fut près du camp et qu'il aperçut le veau et les chœurs, Moïse fut enflammé de colère et il jeta d'entre ses mains les tables et les brisa au pied de la montagne.
Y aconteció, que como llegó él al campo, y vió el becerro y las danzas, enardeciósele la ira á Moisés, y arrojó las tablas de sus manos, y quebrólas al pie del monte.
And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

Et Moïse dit à Aaron : Que t'a fait ce peuple pour le charger d'un grand péché ?
Y dijo Moisés á Aarón: ¿Qué te ha hecho este pueblo, que has traído sobre él tan gran pecado?
And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?
Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”
Et Aaron dit : Que la colère de mon seigneur ne s'allume pas ! Tu connais ce peuple et sa perversité ;
Y respondió Aarón: No se enoje mi señor; tú conoces el pueblo, que es inclinado á mal.
And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.
Aaron said, “Don’t let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.
ils m'ont dit : Fais-nous un Dieu qui marche à notre tête ; car ce Moïse, l'homme qui nous a fait sortir du pays d'Egypte, nous ne savons ce qu'il est devenu.
Porque me dijeron: Haznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros, que á este Moisés, el varón que nos sacó de tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le ha acontecido.

C'est alors que je leur ai dit : Que tous ceux qui portent de l'or l'enlèvent. Et ils me l'ont remis, et je l'ai exposé au feu, et il en est résulté ce veau.
Y yo les respondí: ¿Quién tiene oro? apartadlo. Y diéronmelo, y echélo en el fuego, y salió este becerro.
And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.
I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them take it off.’ So they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”
Et lorsque Moïse vit que le peuple était sans frein, Aaron lui ayant lâché la bride, et deviendrait le jouet de ses ennemis,
Y viendo Moisés que el pueblo estaba despojado, porque Aarón lo había despojado para vergüenza entre sus enemigos,
And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)

Moïse se plaça à la porte du camp et dit : A moi tous ceux qui sont à l'Éternel ! Et tous les fils de Lévi se réunirent auprès de lui.
Púsose Moisés á la puerta del real, y dijo: ¿Quién es de Jehová? júntese conmigo. Y juntáronse con él todos los hijos de Leví.
Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’s side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

Y él les dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová, el Dios de Israel: Poned cada uno su espada sobre su muslo: pasad y volved de puerta á puerta por el campo, y matad cada uno á su hermano, y á su amigo, y á su pariente.
And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
He said to them, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘Every man put his sword on his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and every man kill his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’”
Et les fils de Lévi exécutèrent l'ordre de Moïse, et en ce jour dans le peuple il tomba environ trois mille hommes.
Y los hijos de Leví lo hicieron conforme al dicho de Moisés: y cayeron del pueblo en aquel día como tres mil hombres.
And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

Et Moïse dit : Accomplissez aujourd'hui votre consécration à l'Éternel, même au prix de votre fils et de votre frère, et cela pour attirer sur vous aujourd'hui une bénédiction.
Entonces Moisés dijo: Hoy os habéis consagrado á Jehová, porque cada uno se ha consagrado en su hijo, y en su hermano, para que dé él hoy bendición sobre vosotros.
For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
Moses said, “Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, for every man was against his son and against his brother, that he may give you a blessing today.”
Et le lendemain Moïse dit au peuple : Vous avez commis un grand péché ; or je vais monter vers l'Éternel ; peut-être pourrai-je expier votre péché.
Y aconteció que el día siguiente dijo Moisés al pueblo: Vosotros habéis cometido un gran pecado: mas yo subiré ahora á Jehová; quizá le aplacaré acerca de vuestro pecado.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
On the next day, Moses said to the people, “You have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up to the LORD. Perhaps I shall make atonement for your sin.”
Moïse retourna donc auprès de l'Éternel et dit : Hélas ! ce peuple s'est rendu coupable d'un grand péché, et ils se sont fait un dieu d'or.
Entonces volvió Moisés á Jehová, y dijo: Ruégote, pues este pueblo ha cometido un gran pecado, porque se hicieron dioses de oro,
And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

Puisses-tu maintenant pardonner leur péché ! sinon, oh ! efface-moi de ton livre écrit par toi.
Que perdones ahora su pecado, y si no, ráeme ahora de tu libro que has escrito.
Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse : Ce sont ceux qui ont péché contre moi que j'effacerai de mon livre,
Y Jehová respondió á Moisés: Al que pecare contra mí, á éste raeré yo de mi libro.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
The LORD said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, I will blot him out of my book.
va maintenant et mène le peuple où je t'ai dit : Voici, mon ange te précédera ; mais au jour de mes châtiments je les châtierai de leur péché.
Ve pues ahora, lleva á este pueblo donde te he dicho: he aquí mi ángel irá delante de ti; que en el día de mi visitación yo visitaré en ellos su pecado.
Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

Ainsi l'Éternel frappa le peuple pour avoir fait le veau exécuté par Aaron.
Y Jehová hirió al pueblo, porque habían hecho el becerro que formó Aarón.
And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.
