Und es ging hin ein Mann vom Hause Levi und nahm eine Tochter Levis.

UN varón de la familia de Leví fué, y tomó por mujer una hija de Leví:

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

A man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi as his wife.

Und das Weib ward schwanger und gebar einen Sohn. Und da sie sah, daß es ein fein Kind war, verbarg sie ihn drei Monden.

La cual concibió, y parió un hijo: y viéndolo que era hermoso, túvole escondido tres meses.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

Und da sie ihn nicht länger verbergen konnte, machte sie ein Kästlein von Rohr und verklebte es mit Ton und Pech und legte das Kind drein und legte ihn in das Schilf am Ufer des Wassers.

Pero no pudiendo ocultarle más tiempo, tomó una arquilla de juncos, y calafateóla con pez y betún, y colocó en ella al niño, y púsolo en un carrizal á la orilla del río:

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

When she could no longer hide him, she took a papyrus basket for him, and coated it with tar and with pitch. She put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

Aber seine Schwester stund von ferne, daß sie erfahren wollte, wie es ihm gehen würde.

Und die Tochter Pharaos ging hernieder und wollte baden im Wasser; und ihre Jungfrauen gingen an dem Rande des Wassers. Und da sie das Kästlein im Schilf sah, sandte sie ihre Magd hin und ließ es holen.

Y la hija de Faraón descendió á lavarse al río, y paseándose sus doncellas por la ribera del río, vió ella la arquilla en el carrizal, y envió una criada suya á que la tomase.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her servant to get it.

Und da sie es auftat, sah sie das Kind; und siehe, das Knäblein weinete. Da jammerte es sie, und sprach: Es ist der ebräischen Kindlein eins.

Y como la abrió, vió al niño; y he aquí que el niño lloraba. Y teniendo compasión de él, dijo: De los niños de los Hebreos es éste.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

Da sprach seine Schwester zu der Tochter Pharaos: Soll ich hingehen und der ebräischen Weiber eine rufen, die da säuget, daß sie dir das Kindlein säuge?

Entonces su hermana dijo á la hija de Faraón: ¿Iré á llamarte un ama de las Hebreas, para que te críe este niño?

Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”

Die Tochter Pharaos sprach zu ihr: Gehe hin! Die Jungfrau ging hin und rief des Kindes Mutter.

Y la hija de Faraón respondió: Ve. Entonces fué la doncella, y llamó á la madre del niño;

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

Da sprach Pharaos Tochter zu ihr: Nimm hin das Kindlein und säuge mir's, ich will dir lohnen. Das Weib nahm das Kind und säugete es.

A la cual dijo la hija de Faraón: Lleva este niño, y críamelo, y yo te lo pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño, y criólo.

And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

Und da das Kind groß ward, brachte sie es der Tochter Pharaos, und es ward ihr Sohn; und hieß ihn Mose, denn sie sprach: Ich habe ihn aus dem Wasser gezogen.

Y como creció el niño, ella lo trajo á la hija de Faraón, la cual lo prohijó, y púsole por nombre Moisés, diciendo: Porque de las aguas lo saqué.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

Zu den Zeiten, da Mose war groß worden, ging er aus zu seinen Brüdern und sah ihre Last und ward gewahr, daß ein Ägypter schlug seiner Brüder, der ebräischen, einen.

Y en aquellos días acaeció que, crecido ya Moisés, salió á sus hermanos, y vió sus cargas: y observó á un Egipcio que hería á uno de los Hebreos, sus hermanos.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

Und er wandte sich hin und her, und da er sah, daß kein Mensch da war, erschlug er den Ägypter und verscharrete ihn in den Sand.

Auf einen andern Tag ging er auch aus und sah zween ebräische Männer sich miteinander zanken; und sprach zu dem Ungerechten: Warum schlägest du deinen Nächsten?

Y salió al día siguiente, y viendo á dos Hebreos que reñían, dijo al que hacía la injuria: ¿Por qué hieres á tu prójimo?

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

Er aber sprach: Wer hat dich zum Obersten oder Richter über uns gesetzt? Willst du mich auch erwürgen, wie du den Ägypter erwürget hast? Da fürchtete sich Mose und sprach: Wie ist das laut worden?

Y él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto á ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros? ¿piensas matarme como mataste al Egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Ciertamente esta cosa es descubierta.

And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

Und es kam vor Pharao, der trachtete nach Mose, daß er ihn erwürgete. Aber Mose floh vor Pharao und hielt sich im Lande Midian und wohnete bei einem Brunnen.

Y oyendo Faraón este negocio, procuró matar á Moisés: mas Moisés huyó de delante de Faraón, y habitó en la tierra de Madián; y sentóse junto á un pozo.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

Der Priester aber in Midian hatte sieben Töchter, die kamen, Wasser zu schöpfen, und fülleten die Rinnen, daß sie ihres Vaters Schafe tränketen.

Tenía el sacerdote de Madián siete hijas, las cuales vinieron á sacar agua, para llenar las pilas y dar de beber á las ovejas de su padre.

Sie sprachen: Ein ägyptischer Mann errettete uns von den Hirten und schöpfte uns und tränkte die Schafe.

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

Er sprach zu seinen Töchtern: Wo ist er? Warum habt ihr den Mann gelassen, daß ihr ihn nicht ludet, mit uns zu essen?

Y dijo á sus hijas: ¿Y dónde está? ¿por qué habéis dejado ese hombre? llamadle para que coma pan.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

He said to his daughters, “Where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”

Und Mose bewilligte, bei dem Manne zu bleiben. Und er gab Mose seine Tochter Zipora.

Y Moisés acordó en morar con aquel varón; y él dió á Moisés á su hija Séphora:

And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

Die gebar einen Sohn: und er hieß ihn Gersom; denn er sprach: Ich bin ein Fremdling worden im fremden Lande. (Und sie gebar noch einen Sohn, den hieß er Elieser, und sprach: Der Gott meines Vaters ist mein Helfer und hat mich von der Hand Pharaos errettet.)

Lange Zeit aber danach starb der König in Ägypten. Und die Kinder Israel seufzeten über ihre Arbeit und schrieen; und ihr Schreien über ihre Arbeit kam vor Gott.

Y aconteció que después de muchos días murió el rey de Egipto, y los hijos de Israel suspiraron á causa de la servidumbre, y clamaron: y subió á Dios el clamor de ellos con motivo de su servidumbre.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

Und Gott erhörete ihr Wehklagen und gedachte an seinen Bund mit Abraham, Isaak und Jakob.
