Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.

Wenn du einen hebräischen Sklaven kaufst, soll er sechs Jahre dienen, im siebenten aber soll er ohne Entgelt freigelassen werden. (a) 3Mo 25:39; 5Mo 15:12: Jer 34:8-16
Si comprares siervo hebreo, seis años servirá; mas el séptimo saldrá horro de balde.
If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
“If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free without paying anything.
Ist er allein gekommen, so soll er auch allein entlassen werden; war er aber verheiratet, so soll sein Weib mit ihm entlassen werden.
Si entró solo, solo saldrá: si tenía mujer, saldrá él y su mujer con él.
If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he is married, then his wife shall go out with him.
Hat ihm dagegen sein Herr ein Weib gegeben, und sie hat ihm Söhne oder Töchter geboren, so soll die Frau samt ihren Kindern ihrem Herrn gehören; er soll allein entlassen werden.
Si su amo le hubiere dado mujer, y ella le hubiere parido hijos ó hijas, la mujer y sus hijos serán de su amo, y él saldrá solo.
If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.
If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.
Erklärt jedoch der Sklave: Ich habe meinen Herrn, mein Weib und meine Kinder lieb, ich will nicht freigelassen werden,
Y si el siervo dijere: Yo amo á mi señor, á mi mujer y á mis hijos, no saldré libre:
And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
But if the servant shall plainly say, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I will not go out free;’
so führe ihn sein Herr vor Gott; er führe ihn an die Türe oder an den Türpfosten, und dort durchbohre ihm sein Herr das Ohr mit einem Pfriem, und dann ist er für immer sein Sklave.
Entonces su amo lo hará llegar á los jueces, y harále llegar á la puerta ó al poste; y su amo le horadará la oreja con lesna, y será su siervo para siempre.
Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
then his master shall bring him to God, and shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.
Verkauft jemand seine Tochter als Sklavin, so soll sie nicht entlassen werden wie die Sklaven.
Y cuando alguno vendiere su hija por sierva, no saldrá como suelen salir los siervos.
And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
“If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant, she shall not go out as the male servants do.
Gefällt sie ihrem Herrn nicht, nachdem er ihr beigewohnt hat, so soll er sie loskaufen lassen; doch ist er nicht befugt, sie an fremde Leute zu verkaufen, indem er treulos an ihr handelt.
Si no agradare á su señor, por lo cual no la tomó por esposa, permitirle ha que se rescate, y no la podrá vender á pueblo extraño cuando la desechare.
If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
If she doesn’t please her master, who has married her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt deceitfully with her.
Bestimmt er sie aber für seinen Sohn, so soll er sie nach dem Töchterrecht ausstatten.
Mas si la hubiere desposado con su hijo, hará con ella según la costumbre de las hijas.
And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
If he marries her to his son, he shall deal with her as a daughter.
Nimmt er sich noch eine andre (Frau), so soll er jener an der Nahrung, der Kleidung und dem ehelichen Umgang nichts entziehen.
Si le tomare otra, no disminuirá su alimento, ni su vestido, ni el débito conyugal.
If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marital rights.
Erfüllt er an ihr diese drei (Pflichten) nicht, so wird sie ohne weiteres frei, ohne Lösegeld.
Y si ninguna de estas tres cosas hiciere, ella saldrá de gracia sin dinero.
And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
If he doesn’t do these three things for her, she may go free without paying any money.
Wer einen Menschen schlägt, sodass er stirbt, der soll getötet werden. (a) 2Mo 20:13
El que hiriere á alguno, haciéndole así morir, él morirá.
He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
“One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death,
Hat er ihm aber nicht nachgestellt, sondern hat Gott es so durch ihn gefügt, so will ich dir eine Stätte bestimmen, wohin er fliehen kann. (a) 4Mo 35:11; 5Mo 19:2-6
Mas el que no armó asechanzas, sino que Dios lo puso en sus manos, entonces yo te señalaré lugar al cual ha de huir.
And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
but not if it is unintentional, but God allows it to happen; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee.
Doch wenn jemand an seinem Nächsten frevelt, indem er ihn hinterlistig mordet, so sollst du ihn von meinem Altar wegreissen, damit man ihn töte.
Además, si alguno se ensoberbeciere contra su prójimo, y lo matare con alevosía, de mi altar lo quitarás para que muera.
But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.
Wer seinen Vater oder seine Mutter schlägt, der soll getötet werden.
Y el que hiriere á su padre ó á su madre, morirá.
And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
“Anyone who attacks his father or his mother shall be surely put to death.
Wer einen Menschen raubt - ob er ihn nun verkaufe, oder ob man ihn noch bei ihm finde -, der soll getötet werden. (a) 5Mo 24:7
Asimismo el que robare una persona, y la vendiere, ó se hallare en sus manos, morirá.
And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
“Anyone who kidnaps someone and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
Wer seinem Vater oder seiner Mutter flucht, der soll getötet werden. (a) 3Mo 20:9; 5Mo 27:16; Spr 20:20
Igualmente el que maldijere á su padre ó á su madre, morirá.
And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
“Anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
Wenn Männer miteinander streiten und einer schlägt den andern mit einem Stein oder mit der Faust, sodass er zwar nicht stirbt, aber doch bettlägerig wird,
Además, si algunos riñeren, y alguno hiriere á su prójimo con piedra ó con el puño, y no muriere, pero cayere en cama;
And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
“If men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he doesn’t die, but is confined to bed;
so soll der Täter straflos bleiben, wenn jener wieder aufkommt und an seinem Stocke draussen umhergehen kann; nur soll er ihm vergüten, was er versäumt hat, und den Arzt bezahlen.
Si se levantare y anduviere fuera sobre su báculo, entonces será el que le hirió absuelto: solamente le satisfará lo que estuvo parado, y hará que le curen.
If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
if he rises again and walks around with his staff, then he who struck him shall be cleared; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall provide for his healing until he is thoroughly healed.
Wenn jemand seinen Sklaven oder seine Sklavin mit dem Stocke schlägt, sodass sie ihm unter der Hand sterben, so soll er bestraft werden;
Y si alguno hiriere á su siervo ó á su sierva con palo, y muriere bajo de su mano, será castigado:
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
“If a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, the man shall surely be punished.
bleiben sie aber noch einen oder zwei Tage am Leben, so soll er nicht bestraft werden, denn es ist sein Geld.
Mas si durare por un día ó dos, no será castigado, porque su dinero es.
Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
Notwithstanding, if his servant gets up after a day or two, he shall not be punished, for the servant is his property.
Wenn Männer miteinander raufen und sie verletzen dabei ein schwangeres Weib, sodass eine Fehlgeburt eintritt, aber kein (weiterer) Schaden entsteht, so soll es mit Geld gebüsst werden; was der Ehemann dem Täter auferlegt, das soll dieser geben für die Fehlgeburt.
Si algunos riñeren, é hiriesen á mujer preñada, y ésta abortare, pero sin haber muerte, será penado conforme á lo que le impusiere el marido de la mujer y juzgaren los árbitros.
If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
“If men fight and hurt a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, and yet no harm follows, he shall be surely fined as much as the woman’s husband demands and the judges allow.
Entsteht aber ein (weiterer) Schaden, so sollst du geben Leben um Leben, (a) 3Mo 24:20
Mas si hubiere muerte, entonces pagarás vida por vida,
And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
But if any harm follows, then you must take life for life,
Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn, Hand um Hand; Fuss um Fuss,
Ojo por ojo, diente por diente, mano por mano, pie por pie,
Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
Brandmal um Brandmal, Wunde um Wunde, Strieme um Strieme.
Quemadura por quemadura, herida por herida, golpe por golpe.
Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
burning for burning, wound for wound, and bruise for bruise.
Wenn jemand seinen Sklaven oder seine Sklavin ins Auge schlägt und es zerstört, so soll er sie für das Auge freilassen.
Y cuando alguno hiriere el ojo de su siervo, ó el ojo de su sierva, y lo entortare, darále libertad por razón de su ojo.
And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.
“If a man strikes his servant’s eye, or his maid’s eye, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.
Und wenn er seinem Sklaven oder seiner Sklavin einen Zahn ausschlägt, so soll er sie für den Zahn freilassen.
Y si sacare el diente de su siervo, ó el diente de su sierva, por su diente le dejará ir libre.
And if he smite out his manservant’s tooth, or his maidservant’s tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth’s sake.
If he strikes out his male servant’s tooth, or his female servant’s tooth, he shall let the servant go free for his tooth’s sake.
Wenn ein Rind einen Mann oder ein Weib stösst, sodass sie sterben, so soll man das Rind steinigen und sein Fleisch nicht essen; der Besitzer des Rindes aber bleibt straflos.
Si un buey acorneare hombre ó mujer, y de resultas muriere, el buey será apedreado, y no se comerá su carne; mas el dueño del buey será absuelto.
If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
“If a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull shall surely be stoned, and its meat shall not be eaten; but the owner of the bull shall not be held responsible.
War jedoch das Rind schon seit einiger Zeit stössig, und sein Besitzer ist gewarnt worden, und er hat es doch nicht gehütet, so soll man das Rind, wenn es einen Mann oder ein Weib tötet, steinigen, und auch sein Besitzer soll getötet werden.
Pero si el buey era acorneador desde ayer y antes de ayer, y á su dueño le fué hecho requerimiento, y no lo hubiere guardado, y matare hombre ó mujer, el buey será apedreado, y también morirá su dueño.
But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
But if the bull had a habit of goring in the past, and this has been testified to its owner, and he has not kept it in, but it has killed a man or a woman, the bull shall be stoned, and its owner shall also be put to death.
Wird aber ein Sühnegeld auferlegt, so soll er als Lösegeld für sein Leben so viel zahlen, als man ihm auferlegt.
Si le fuere impuesto rescate, entonces dará por el rescate de su persona cuanto le fuere impuesto.
If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
If a ransom is imposed on him, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is imposed.
Nach dem gleichen Recht soll man mit ihm verfahren, wenn es einen Knaben oder ein Mädchen stösst.
Haya acorneado hijo, ó haya acorneado hija, conforme á este juicio se hará con él.
Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
Whether it has gored a son or has gored a daughter, according to this judgment it shall be done to him.
Stösst das Rind einen Sklaven oder eine Sklavin, so soll der Besitzer ihrem Herrn dreissig Lot Silber zahlen, das Rind aber soll man steinigen.
Si el buey acorneare siervo ó sierva, pagará treinta siclos de plata su señor, y el buey será apedreado.
If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
If the bull gores a male servant or a female servant, thirty shekels of silver shall be given to their master, and the ox shall be stoned.
Wenn jemand eine Zisterne offen lässt, oder wenn jemand eine Zisterne gräbt und sie nicht zudeckt, und es fällt ein Rind oder ein Esel hinein,
Y si alguno abriere hoyo, ó cavare cisterna, y no la cubriere, y cayere allí buey ó asno,
And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
“If a man opens a pit, or if a man digs a pit and doesn’t cover it, and a bull or a donkey falls into it,
so soll der Besitzer der Zisterne Ersatz leisten: Geld soll er dem Besitzer (des Tieres) bezahlen, das tote Tier aber gehört ihm.
El dueño de la cisterna pagará el dinero, resarciendo á su dueño, y lo que fué muerto será suyo.
The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
the owner of the pit shall make it good. He shall give money to its owner, and the dead animal shall be his.
Wenn jemandes Rind das Rind eines andren stösst, sodass es stirbt, so sollen sie das lebende Rind verkaufen und den Erlös teilen, und auch das tote sollen sie teilen.
Y si el buey de alguno hiriere al buey de su prójimo, y éste muriere, entonces venderán el buey vivo, y partirán el dinero de él, y también partirán el muerto.
And if one man’s ox hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
“If one man’s bull injures another’s, so that it dies, then they shall sell the live bull, and divide its price; and they shall also divide the dead animal.
War es aber bekannt, dass das Rind schon seit einiger Zeit stössig war, und sein Besitzer hat es nicht gehütet, so soll er ein Rind für das andre erstatten, das tote aber gehört ihm.
Mas si era notorio que el buey era acorneador de ayer y antes de ayer, y su dueño no lo hubiere guardado, pagará buey por buey, y el muerto será suyo.
Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
Or if it is known that the bull was in the habit of goring in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, he shall surely pay bull for bull, and the dead animal shall be his own.
