Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
“Now these are the ordinances which you shall set before them:
Si tu achètes un serviteur hébreu, il te servira six ans, et à la septième année, il s'en ira libre sans rançon.
Si comprares siervo hebreo, seis años servirá; mas el séptimo saldrá horro de balde.
If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
“If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free without paying anything.
S'il est entré seul, il sortira seul ; si sa femme est entrée avec lui, sa femme sortira avec lui.
Si entró solo, solo saldrá: si tenía mujer, saldrá él y su mujer con él.
If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he is married, then his wife shall go out with him.
Si son maître lui a donné une femme, et qu'elle lui ait enfanté des fils et des filles, la femme et les enfants seront à son maître ; lui seul sortira.
Si su amo le hubiere dado mujer, y ella le hubiere parido hijos ó hijas, la mujer y sus hijos serán de su amo, y él saldrá solo.
If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.
If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.
Si le serviteur dit : J'aime mon maître, ma femme et mes enfants ; je refuse de devenir libre,
Y si el siervo dijere: Yo amo á mi señor, á mi mujer y á mis hijos, no saldré libre:
And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
But if the servant shall plainly say, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I will not go out free;’
Son maître le conduira au tribunal de Dieu, il le placera devant la porte contre le seuil, et il lui percera les oreilles avec une petite alêne ; alors le serviteur restera à son service à perpétuité.
Entonces su amo lo hará llegar á los jueces, y harále llegar á la puerta ó al poste; y su amo le horadará la oreja con lesna, y será su siervo para siempre.
Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
then his master shall bring him to God, and shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.
Si un homme vend sa fille comme esclave, elle ne sortira pas comme sortent les servantes.
Y cuando alguno vendiere su hija por sierva, no saldrá como suelen salir los siervos.
And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
“If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant, she shall not go out as the male servants do.
Que si elle n'a pas été agréable au maître après leurs fiançailles, il la laissera aller moyennant rançon ; mais il ne pourra la vendre chez une nation étrangère, sous prétexte qu'il aurait trouvé en elle un motif de répudiation.
Si no agradare á su señor, por lo cual no la tomó por esposa, permitirle ha que se rescate, y no la podrá vender á pueblo extraño cuando la desechare.
If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
If she doesn’t please her master, who has married her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt deceitfully with her.
S'il l'a fiancée à son fils, il la traitera selon la justice due aux filles libres.
Mas si la hubiere desposado con su hijo, hará con ella según la costumbre de las hijas.
And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
If he marries her to his son, he shall deal with her as a daughter.
Si le maître la remplace pour lui-même par une autre, il ne la sèvrera ni de sa société, ni de vêtements, ni des choses nécessaires.
Si le tomare otra, no disminuirá su alimento, ni su vestido, ni el débito conyugal.
If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marital rights.
S'il manque à l'une de ces trois conditions, elle sortira sans rançon, sans rien payer.
Y si ninguna de estas tres cosas hiciere, ella saldrá de gracia sin dinero.
And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
If he doesn’t do these three things for her, she may go free without paying any money.
Si un homme en frappe un autre et si celui-ci meurt, que le premier soit puni de mort.
El que hiriere á alguno, haciéndole así morir, él morirá.
He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
“One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death,
Mais si c'est involontairement, s'il a frappé un homme que Dieu aura livré à ses mains, je désignerai un lieu où il se réfugiera.
Mas el que no armó asechanzas, sino que Dios lo puso en sus manos, entonces yo te señalaré lugar al cual ha de huir.
And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
but not if it is unintentional, but God allows it to happen; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee.
Si un homme a guetté son prochain et l'a tué par ruse, s'il s'est enfui, tu le prendras, même à mon autel, pour qu'il soit mis à mort.
Además, si alguno se ensoberbeciere contra su prójimo, y lo matare con alevosía, de mi altar lo quitarás para que muera.
But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.
Que celui qui frappera son père ou sa mère soit puni de mort.
Y el que hiriere á su padre ó á su madre, morirá.
And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
“Anyone who attacks his father or his mother shall be surely put to death.
Que celui qui maudira son père ou sa mère soit puni de mort.
Asimismo el que robare una persona, y la vendiere, ó se hallare en sus manos, morirá.
And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
“Anyone who kidnaps someone and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
Que celui qui aura ravi un des fils d'Israël soit puni de mort ; soit que l'ayant forcé, il l'ait vendu, soit qu'on le trouve chez lui.
Igualmente el que maldijere á su padre ó á su madre, morirá.
And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
“Anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
Si deux hommes se sont querellés, et que l'un ait frappé son prochain du poing ou avec une pierre, et que celui-ci ne meure pas, mais qu'il ait gardé le lit ;
Además, si algunos riñeren, y alguno hiriere á su prójimo con piedra ó con el puño, y no muriere, pero cayere en cama;
And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
“If men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he doesn’t die, but is confined to bed;
S'il peut sortir appuyé sur un bâton, celui qui l'aura frappé ne sera pas condamné, mais il l'indemnisera pour le chômage, et il paiera les frais de la guérison.
Si se levantare y anduviere fuera sobre su báculo, entonces será el que le hirió absuelto: solamente le satisfará lo que estuvo parado, y hará que le curen.
If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
if he rises again and walks around with his staff, then he who struck him shall be cleared; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall provide for his healing until he is thoroughly healed.
Si un homme frappe du bâton son serviteur ou sa servante, et si la mort s'ensuit, il sera poursuivi en justice pour être puni.
Y si alguno hiriere á su siervo ó á su sierva con palo, y muriere bajo de su mano, será castigado:
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
“If a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, the man shall surely be punished.
Mais si le blessé survit un jour ou deux, que le maître ne soit pas poursuivi ; car c'est son argent.
Mas si durare por un día ó dos, no será castigado, porque su dinero es.
Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
Notwithstanding, if his servant gets up after a day or two, he shall not be punished, for the servant is his property.
Si deux hommes se battent et qu'une femme grosse soit frappée, et qu'il en sorte un enfant non encore formé, le coupable paiera le dommage, selon l'estimation du mari de la femme.
Si algunos riñeren, é hiriesen á mujer preñada, y ésta abortare, pero sin haber muerte, será penado conforme á lo que le impusiere el marido de la mujer y juzgaren los árbitros.
If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
“If men fight and hurt a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, and yet no harm follows, he shall be surely fined as much as the woman’s husband demands and the judges allow.
Mais si l’enfant est formé, le coupable donnera vie pour vie,
Mas si hubiere muerte, entonces pagarás vida por vida,
And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
But if any harm follows, then you must take life for life,
Œil pour œil, dent pour dent, main pour main, pied pour pied,
Ojo por ojo, diente por diente, mano por mano, pie por pie,
Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
Brûlure pour brûlure, plaie pour plaie, meurtrissure pour meurtrissure.
Quemadura por quemadura, herida por herida, golpe por golpe.
Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
burning for burning, wound for wound, and bruise for bruise.
Si un homme a porté un coup à l'œil de son serviteur ou à I'œil de sa servante, et que l'œil soit perdu, il renverra libre le blessé, pour prix de I'œil perdu.
Y cuando alguno hiriere el ojo de su siervo, ó el ojo de su sierva, y lo entortare, darále libertad por razón de su ojo.
And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.
“If a man strikes his servant’s eye, or his maid’s eye, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.
S'il a cassé une dent à son serviteur ou une dent à sa servante, il les renverra libres, pour prix de la dent perdue.
Y si sacare el diente de su siervo, ó el diente de su sierva, por su diente le dejará ir libre.
And if he smite out his manservant’s tooth, or his maidservant’s tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth’s sake.
If he strikes out his male servant’s tooth, or his female servant’s tooth, he shall let the servant go free for his tooth’s sake.
Si un taureau a frappé de sa corne un homme ou une femme et que le blessé en meure, le taureau sera lapidé et l'on ne mangera pas sa chair, mais le maître du taureau sera innocenté.
Si un buey acorneare hombre ó mujer, y de resultas muriere, el buey será apedreado, y no se comerá su carne; mas el dueño del buey será absuelto.
If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
“If a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull shall surely be stoned, and its meat shall not be eaten; but the owner of the bull shall not be held responsible.
Si le taureau a depuis longtemps l'habitude de frapper de la corne, qu'on l'ait déclaré à son maître sans qu’il l'ait enfermé, et que le taureau tue homme ou femme, le taureau sera lapidé et le maître mis à mort.
Pero si el buey era acorneador desde ayer y antes de ayer, y á su dueño le fué hecho requerimiento, y no lo hubiere guardado, y matare hombre ó mujer, el buey será apedreado, y también morirá su dueño.
But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
But if the bull had a habit of goring in the past, and this has been testified to its owner, and he has not kept it in, but it has killed a man or a woman, the bull shall be stoned, and its owner shall also be put to death.
Si une rançon lui est imposée, il pourra racheter sa vie au prix de la rançon qui lui aura été imposée.
Si le fuere impuesto rescate, entonces dará por el rescate de su persona cuanto le fuere impuesto.
If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
If a ransom is imposed on him, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is imposed.
Si le taureau a frappé de sa corne un fils ou une fille, la sentence sera la même.
Haya acorneado hijo, ó haya acorneado hija, conforme á este juicio se hará con él.
Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
Whether it has gored a son or has gored a daughter, according to this judgment it shall be done to him.
S'il a blessé un serviteur ou une servante, on donnera au maître trente drachmes d'argent, et le taureau sera lapidé.
Si el buey acorneare siervo ó sierva, pagará treinta siclos de plata su señor, y el buey será apedreado.
If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
If the bull gores a male servant or a female servant, thirty shekels of silver shall be given to their master, and the ox shall be stoned.
Si quelqu'un creuse un puits, ou bâtit une citerne en pierres de taille et qu'il n'en couvre pas l'orifice, et qu'un veau ou un âne y tombe,
Y si alguno abriere hoyo, ó cavare cisterna, y no la cubriere, y cayere allí buey ó asno,
And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
“If a man opens a pit, or if a man digs a pit and doesn’t cover it, and a bull or a donkey falls into it,
Le maître du puits ou de la citerne sera puni, il donnera de l'argent à leur maître, mais la bête morte sera pour lui.
El dueño de la cisterna pagará el dinero, resarciendo á su dueño, y lo que fué muerto será suyo.
The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
the owner of the pit shall make it good. He shall give money to its owner, and the dead animal shall be his.
Si le taureau d'un homme frappe à mort le taureau de son voisin, ils vendront le taureau vivant, ils en partageront le prix, et ils partageront le taureau mort.
Y si el buey de alguno hiriere al buey de su prójimo, y éste muriere, entonces venderán el buey vivo, y partirán el dinero de él, y también partirán el muerto.
And if one man’s ox hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
“If one man’s bull injures another’s, so that it dies, then they shall sell the live bull, and divide its price; and they shall also divide the dead animal.
S'il est reconnu que le taureau avait depuis longtemps l'habitude de frapper de la corne, et qu'on l'avait déclaré au maître sans qu'il l'eût enfermé, celui-ci rendra taureau pour taureau, et la bête morte sera pour lui.
Mas si era notorio que el buey era acorneador de ayer y antes de ayer, y su dueño no lo hubiere guardado, pagará buey por buey, y el muerto será suyo.
Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
Or if it is known that the bull was in the habit of goring in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, he shall surely pay bull for bull, and the dead animal shall be his own.
Si un homme vole un veau ou une brebis, et qu'il l'égorge ou le vende, il rendra cinq veaux pour le veau, et quatre brebis pour la brebis.
