1Und Gott redete all diese Worte; er sprach:
2"Ich bin der Herr, dein Gott, der dich aus dem Ägypterland, aus dem Frönerhaus geführt.
3Du sollst keinen anderen Gott gleich mir haben!
4Du sollst kein Bild dir machen, noch eine Abform dessen, was im Himmel droben ist oder auf Erden unten oder in dem unterirdischen Gewässer!
5Du sollst dich nicht vor solchen niederwerfen und nimmer sie verehren! Ein eifersüchtiger Gott bin ich, der Herr, dein Gott, der da die Schuld der Väter heimsucht an den Kindern, Enkeln und Urenkeln derer, die mich hassen,
6doch Huld erweist den Tausenden von denen, die mich lieben und die meine Gebote halten.
7Du sollst nicht des Herrn, deines Gottes, Namen eitel nennen! Der Herr läßt den nicht ungestraft, der seinen Namen eitel nennt.
8Gedenke, den Sabbattag zu heiligen!
9Sechs Tage sollst du arbeiten und all dein Werk verrichten!
10Ein Ruhetag, dem Herren, deinem Gott, zu Ehren, ist jedoch der siebte Tag. An ihm verrichte kein Geschäft, nicht du und nicht dein Sohn, noch deine Tochter, noch dein Knecht, noch deine Magd, und nicht dein Vieh und nicht dein Gast in deinen Toren!
11Denn in sechs Tagen hat der Herr den Himmel und die Erde, das Meer und alles, was darin, gemacht. Am siebten Tage aber ruhte er. Deswegen hat der Herr den Ruhetag gesegnet, und also heiligte er ihn.
12Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter, damit du lange lebest auf dem Erdboden, den dir der Herr, dein Gott, verleiht!
13Du sollst nicht morden!
14Du sollst nicht ehebrechen!
15Du sollst nicht stehlen!
16Du sollst nicht gegen deinen Nächsten falsches Zeugnis ablegen!
17Du sollst nicht deines Nächsten Haus begehren! Du sollst nicht deines Nächsten Weib begehren, noch seinen Knecht, noch seine Magd, und nicht sein Rind, noch seinen Esel, nichts, was deines Nächsten ist!"
18Und alles Volk ward inne der Donnerschläge, der Blitze, des Hörnerschalls und des rauchenden Berges. Und das Volk sah es, lief zurück und stand fern.
19Dann sprachen sie zu Moses: "Rede du mit uns! Dann wollen wir zuhören. Aber nicht rede Gott mit uns! Sonst sterben wir."
20Da sprach Moses zum Volke: "Habt keine Furcht! Die Gottheit ist gekommen, euch zu prüfen und damit die Furcht vor ihr in euch bleibe, auf daß ihr nicht sündiget."
21So stand das Volk fern. Moses aber trat zu dem Wolkendunkel, in dem Gott war.
22Da sprach der Herr zu Moses: "So sollst du sprechen zu den Israeliten: 'Ihr selber habt gesehen, daß ich mit euch vom Himmel aus geredet habe.
23Ihr sollt mich nicht als einen Gott aus Silber oder Gold machen. Das dürft ihr euch nicht machen.
24Du sollst aus Erde mir einen Altar anfertigen und darauf deine Brand- und Mahlopfer und deine Schafe und Rinder opfern. Wo immer meinen Namen ich ausspreche, da komme ich zu dir, und alsdann segne ich dich.
25Machst du mir aber aus Steinen einen Altar, dann sollst du ihn nicht mit behauenen Steinen bauen! Denn du entweihest sie, schwingst du dein Eisen über sie.
26Und nicht auf Stufen sollst du zu meinem Altar emporsteigen, damit nicht deine Blöße vor ihm offenbar werde!'"

1Y HABLÓ Dios todas estas palabras, diciendo:
2Yo soy JEHOVÁ tu Dios, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto, de casa de siervos.
3No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí.
4No te harás imagen, ni ninguna semejanza de cosa que esté arriba en el cielo, ni abajo en la tierra, ni en las aguas debajo de la tierra:
5No te inclinarás á ellas, ni las honrarás; porque yo soy Jehová tu Dios, fuerte, celoso, que visito la maldad de los padres sobre los hijos, sobre los terceros y sobre los cuartos, á los que me aborrecen,
6Y que hago misericordia en millares á los que me aman, y guardan mis mandamientos.
7No tomarás el nombre de Jehová tu Dios en vano; porque no dará por inocente Jehová al que tomare su nombre en vano.
8Acordarte has del día del reposo, para santificarlo:
9Seis días trabajarás, y harás toda tu obra;
10Mas el séptimo día será reposo para Jehová tu Dios: no hagas en él obra alguna, tú, ni tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu siervo, ni tu criada ni tu bestia, ni tu extranjero que está dentro de tus puertas:
11Porque en seis días hizo Jehová los cielos y la tierra, la mar y todas las cosas que en ellos hay, y reposó en el séptimo día: por tanto Jehová bendijo el día del reposo y lo santificó.
12Honra á tu padre y á tu madre, porque tus días se alarguen en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.
13No matarás.
14No cometerás adulterio.
15No hurtarás.
16No hablarás contra tu prójimo falso testimonio.
17No codiciarás la casa de tu prójimo, no codiciarás la mujer de tu prójimo, ni su siervo, ni su criada, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni cosa alguna de tu prójimo.
18Todo el pueblo consideraba las voces, y las llamas, y el sonido de la bocina, y el monte que humeaba: y viéndolo el pueblo, temblaron, y pusiéronse de lejos.
19Y dijeron á Moisés: Habla tú con nosotros, que nosotros oiremos; mas no hable Dios con nosotros, porque no muramos.
20Y Moisés respondió al pueblo: No temáis; que por probaros vino Dios, y porque su temor esté en vuestra presencia para que no pequéis.
21Entonces el pueblo se puso de lejos, y Moisés se llegó á la osbcuridad, en la cual estaba Dios.
22Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Así dirás á los hijos de Israel: Vosotros habéis visto que he hablado desde el cielo con vosotros.
23No hagáis conmigo dioses de plata, ni dioses de oro os haréis.
24Altar de tierra harás para mí, y sacrificarás sobre él tus holocaustos y tus pacíficos, tus ovejas y tus vacas: en cualquier lugar donde yo hiciere que esté la memoria de mi nombre, vendré á ti, y te bendeciré.
25Y si me hicieres altar de piedras, no las labres de cantería; porque si alzares tu pico sobre él, tú lo profanarás.
26Y no subirás por gradas á mi altar, porque tu desnudez no sea junto á él descubierta.

1And God spake all these words, saying,
2I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13Thou shalt not kill.
14Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15Thou shalt not steal.
16Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
18And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
20And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
21And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
24An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
25And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

1God spoke all these words, saying,
2“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3“You shall have no other gods before me.
4“You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,
6and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.
8“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9You shall labor six days, and do all your work,
10but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates;
11for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.
12“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
13“You shall not murder.
14“You shall not commit adultery.
15“You shall not steal.
16“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
17“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
18All the people perceived the thunderings, the lightnings, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking. When the people saw it, they trembled, and stayed at a distance.
19They said to Moses, “Speak with us yourself, and we will listen; but don’t let God speak with us, lest we die.”
20Moses said to the people, “Don’t be afraid, for God has come to test you, and that his fear may be before you, that you won’t sin.”
21The people stayed at a distance, and Moses came near to the thick darkness where God was.
22The LORD said to Moses, “This is what you shall tell the children of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23You shall most certainly not make gods of silver or gods of gold for yourselves to be alongside me.
24You shall make an altar of earth for me, and shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your cattle. In every place where I record my name I will come to you and I will bless you.
25If you make me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of cut stones; for if you lift up your tool on it, you have polluted it.
26You shall not go up by steps to my altar, that your nakedness may not be exposed to it.’
