Voici les noms des fils d'Israël venus en Égypte avec Jacob, leur père, et qui y entrèrent chacun avec toute sa famille :

ESTOS son los nombres de los hijos de Israel, que entraron en Egipto con Jacob; cada uno entró con su familia.

Joseph, de son côté, était déjà en Égypte ; or, il y avait en tout soixante-quinze âmes provenant de Jacob.

Mais un autre roi s'éleva sur l'Égypte, qui ne connaissait pas Joseph.

En conséquence, il établit sur eux des intendants des travaux, afin qu'ils les épuisassent par le labeur ; et ils bâtirent des villes fortes au Pharaon : Pitho, Rhamessès et On, aujourd'hui Héliopolis.

Et ils affligeaient leur vie par de durs travaux, par l'argile, par la brique, par le labeur des champs ; et ils les asservissaient par la violence à tous ces travaux.

Y amargaron su vida con dura servidumbre, en hacer barro y ladrillo, y en toda labor del campo, y en todo su servicio, al cual los obligaban con rigorismo.

And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.

Alors, le roi des Égyptiens parla aux sages-femmes des Hébreux qui s'appelaient : la première, Séphora, la seconde, Phua.

Et il dit : Lorsque vous accoucherez des femmes d'Hébreux, et qu'elles auront enfanté, si c'est un garçon, tuez-le ; si c'est une fille, conservez-la.

Cuando parteareis á las Hebreas, y mirareis los asientos, si fuere hijo, matadlo; y si fuere hija, entonces viva.

And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.

Mais les sages-femmes craignirent Dieu, et n'exécutèrent point les ordres du roi d'Égypte ; elles laissèrent vivre les enfants mâles.

Mas las parteras temieron á Dios, y no hicieron como les mandó el rey de Egipto, sino que reservaban la vida á los niños.

Alors, le roi d'Égypte appela les sages-femmes, et leur dit : Pourquoi agissez-vous de la sorte, et laissez-vous vivre les enfants mâles ?

Y el rey de Egipto hizo llamar á las parteras, y díjoles: Por qué habéis hecho esto, que habéis reservado la vida á los niños?

And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?

Et les sages-femmes dirent au Pharaon : Les femmes des Hébreux ne sont pas comme les Égyptiennes ; avant l'arrivée des sages-femmes, elles enfantent, et l'accouchement est fait.

Y las parteras respondieron á Faraón: Porque las mujeres Hebreas no son como las Egipcias: porque son robustas, y paren antes que la partera venga á ellas.

And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.

The midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women aren’t like the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife comes to them.”

Et Dieu fit du bien aux sages-femmes ; et le peuple se multiplia et se fortifia beaucoup.

Y Dios hizo bien á las parteras: y el pueblo se multiplicó, y se corroboraron en gran manera.

Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.

Le Pharaon donna aussi ses ordres à son peuple, disant : Tout enfant mâle qui naîtra aux Hébreux, jetez-le dans le fleuve ; et laissez vivre toutes les filles.

Entonces Faraón mandó á todo su pueblo, diciendo: Echad en el río todo hijo que naciere, y á toda hija reservad la vida.

And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
