Éxodo 17

On appela ce lieu Massa et Meriba, à cause de la querelle des enfants d'Israël et parce qu'ils avaient tenté l'Éternel en disant: "Nous verrons si l'Éternel est avec nous ou non!"

Y llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Massah y Meribah, por la rencilla de los hijos de Israel, y porque tentaron á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Está, pues, Jehová entre nosotros, ó no?

And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?
