46Eles estavam acampados a leste do rio Jordão, no vale perto de Baal-Peor. Esse território era antes ocupado pelos amorreus, governados pelo rei Seom, que habitava em Hesbom, a quem Moisés e os israelitas destruíram quando saíram do Egito.
