Jaïr fils de Manassé prit toute la contrée d’Argob, jusqu’à la frontière des Guésuriens et des Mahacathiens, et il appela de son Nom ce pays de Basan, bourgs de Jaïr, lequel ils ont eu jusqu’à aujourd’hui.

Jair hijo de Manasés tomó toda la tierra de Argob hasta el término de Gessuri y Machâti; y llamóla de su nombre Basán-havoth-jair, hasta hoy.

Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashan-havoth-jair, unto this day.
