Deuteronomio 25

1S'il s'élève un différend entre des hommes, ils se présenteront au Tribunal, pour qu'on les juge, et que l'on déclare innocent l'innocent, et coupable le coupable.
2Et si le coupable mérite des coups, le Juge le fera étendre par terre et battre sous ses yeux d'un nombre de coups suffisant en raison de sa culpabilité.
3Il lui fera donner quarante coups, pas plus, de peur que s'il y fait ajouter des coups en grand nombre, ton frère ne soit avili devant toi.
4Tu n'emmusèleras pas le bœuf, quand il foule le grain.
5Si des frères demeurent dans un même lieu, ou que l'un d'eux meure sans laisser de fils, la femme du frère mort ne se mariera point au dehors à un étranger ; son beau-frère s'approchera d'elle, et la prendra pour sa femme, et remplira envers elle le devoir du beau-frère.
6Et ce cas échéant, le premier-né qu'elle enfantera, succédera au nom du frère défunt, afin que son nom ne disparaisse pas d'Israël.
7Mais si l'homme ne se soucie pas d'épouser sa belle-sœur, sa belle-sœur se présentera, à la Porte devant les Anciens et dira : Mon beau-frère se refuse à faire revivre le nom de son frère en Israël ; il ne veut pas remplir envers moi le devoir du Lévirat.
8Alors les Anciens de sa ville le citeront, et ils lui parleront ;
9et s'il persiste et dit : Je ne me soucie pas de l'épouser ; sa belle-sœur s'avancera, vers lui, devant les yeux des Anciens, et lui détachera sa sandale du pied, et crachera en face de lui ; puis prenant la parole elle dira : Ainsi soit fait à l'homme qui n'édifie pas la maison de son frère.
10Et en Israël on le désignera de ce nom : Maison du déchaussé.
11Si des hommes ont entre eux une rixe, l'un avec l'autre, et que la femme de l'un accoure pour tirer son mari des mains de celui qui le bat, et qu'étendant la main elle saisisse celui-ci par les parties honteuses,
12coupe-lui la main, et cela sans pitié.
13Tu n'auras pas dans ta bourse double pierre à peser, une grosse et une petite.
14Tu n'auras pas dans ta maison double épha, un grand et un petit.
15Aie des pierres d'un poids complet et juste, et un épha d'une capacité complète et juste, afin que tes jours se prolongent dans le pays que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne.
16Car quiconque le fait, quiconque fraude, est l'abomination de l'Éternel.
17Rappelle-toi ce que t'a fait Amalek pendant le trajet lors de votre sortie d'Egypte,
18comment il t'a attaqué sur la route, est tombé sur ton arrière-garde, sur toute la troupe débile qui se traînait après toi, toi-même étant épuisé et las, et comment il n'eut aucune crainte de Dieu.
19Et lorsque l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'aura donné le repos et t'aura débarrassé de tous les ennemis de tes alentours dans le pays que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne en propriété pour le conquérir, tu mettras fin à la mémoire d'Amalek sous les Cieux. Ne l'oublie pas.

1CUANDO hubiere pleito entre algunos, y vinieren á juicio, y los juzgaren, y absolvieren al justo y condenaren al inicuo,
2Será que, si el delincuente mereciere ser azotado, entonces el juez lo hará echar en tierra, y harále azotar delante de sí, según su delito, por cuenta.
3Harále dar cuarenta azotes, no más: no sea que, si lo hiriere con muchos azotes á más de éstos, se envilezca tu hermano delante de tus ojos.
4No pondrás bozal al buey cuando trillare.
5Cuando hermanos estuvieren juntos, y muriere alguno de ellos, y no tuviere hijo, la mujer del muerto no se casará fuera con hombre extraño: su cuñado entrará á ella, y la tomará por su mujer, y hará con ella parentesco.
6Y será que el primogénito que pariere ella, se levantará en nombre de su hermano el muerto, porque el nombre de éste no sea raído de Israel.
7Y si el hombre no quisiere tomar á su cuñada, irá entonces la cuñada suya á la puerta á los ancianos, y dirá: Mi cuñado no quiere suscitar nombre en Israel á su hermano; no quiere emparentar conmigo.
8Entonces los ancianos de aquella ciudad lo harán venir, y hablarán con él: y si él se levantare, y dijere, No quiero tomarla,
9Llegaráse entonces su cuñada á él delante de los ancianos, y le descalzará el zapato de su pie, y escupirále en el rostro, y hablará y dirá: Así será hecho al varón que no edificare la casa de su hermano.
10Y su nombre será llamado en Israel: La casa del descalzado.
11Cuando algunos riñeren juntos el uno con el otro, y llegare la mujer del uno para librar á su marido de mano del que le hiriere, y metiere su mano y le trabare de sus vergüenzas;
12La cortarás entonces la mano, no la perdonará tu ojo.
13No tendrás en tu bolsa pesa grande y pesa chica.
14No tendrás en tu casa epha grande y epha pequeño.
15Pesas cumplidas y justas tendrás; epha cabal y justo tendrás: para que tus días sean prolongados sobre la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.
16Porque abominación es á Jehová tu Dios cualquiera que hace esto, cualquiera que hace agravio.
17Acuérdate de lo que te hizo Amalec en el camino, cuando salisteis de Egipto:
18Que te salió al camino, y te desbarató la retaguardia de todos los flacos que iban detrás de ti, cuando tú estabas cansado y trabajado; y no temió á Dios.
19Será pues, cuando Jehová tu Dios te hubiere dado reposo de tus enemigos alrededor, en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da por heredad para que la poseas, que raerás la memoria de Amalec de debajo del cielo: no te olvides.

1If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
2And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
3Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.
4Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.
5If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.
6And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
7And if the man like not to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband’s brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.
8Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;
9Then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.
10And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.
11When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:
12Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.
13Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.
14Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.
15But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
16For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.
17Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
18How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.
19Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.

1If there is a controversy between men, and they come to judgment and the judges judge them, then they shall justify the righteous and condemn the wicked.
2It shall be, if the wicked man is worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down and to be beaten before his face, according to his wickedness, by number.
3He may sentence him to no more than forty stripes. He shall not give more, lest if he should give more and beat him more than that many stripes, then your brother will be degraded in your sight.
4You shall not muzzle the ox when he treads out the grain.
5If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside to a stranger. Her husband’s brother shall go in to her, and take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.
6It shall be that the firstborn whom she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name not be blotted out of Israel.
7If the man doesn’t want to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel. He will not perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.”
8Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak to him. If he stands and says, “I don’t want to take her,”
9then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, and loose his sandal from off his foot, and spit in his face. She shall answer and say, “So shall it be done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.”
10His name shall be called in Israel, “The house of him who had his sandal removed.”
11When men strive against each other, and the wife of one draws near to deliver her husband out of the hand of him who strikes him, and puts out her hand, and grabs him by his private parts,
12then you shall cut off her hand. Your eye shall have no pity.
13You shall not have in your bag diverse weights, one heavy and one light.
14You shall not have in your house diverse measures, one large and one small.
15You shall have a perfect and just weight. You shall have a perfect and just measure, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
16For all who do such things, all who do unrighteously, are an abomination to the LORD your God.
17Remember what Amalek did to you by the way as you came out of Egypt,
18how he met you by the way, and struck the rearmost of you, all who were feeble behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he didn’t fear God.
19Therefore it shall be, when the LORD your God has given you rest from all your enemies all around, in the land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it, that you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky. You shall not forget.
