Amós 1

1Palabras de Amós, que fue un pastor de Tecue, y contienen la revelación que tuvo en orden a Israel, en tiempo de Ozías, rey de Judá, y en tiempo de Jeroboam, hijo de Joás, rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.
2Dijo, pues: El Señor rugirá desde Sión, y hará oír su voz desde Jerusalén , y se marchitarán los más hermosos pastos, o praderas, y se agostarán las cimas del Carmelo.
3Esto dice el Señor: Después de tres, cuatro y más maldades que ha cometido Damasco, ya no la convertiré, pues ella con carros de trillar ha despedazado a los israelitas de Galaad.
4Yo entregaré, pues, a las llamas la casa de Azael, y serán abrasados los palacios de Benadad.
5Y destruiré todo el poder de Damasco, y exterminaré a los habitantes de las campiñas del ídolo, y al que empuña el cetro lo arrojaré de la casa de las delicias; y el pueblo de Siria será transportado a Cirene, dice el Señor.
6Esto dice el Señor: Después de tres, cuatro y más maldades que ha cometido Gaza, ya no la convertiré; pues ella se ha llevado cautiva toda la gente de Israel para encerrarla en Idumea.
7Yo enviaré fuego contra los muros de Gaza, el cual reducirá a cenizas sus edificios.
8Y exterminaré a los moradores de Azoto y al que empuña el cetro de Ascalón; descargaré mi mano sobre Accarón; y aniquilaré los restos de los filisteos, dice el Señor Dios.
9Esto dice el Señor: Después de tres, cuatro y más maldades de Tiro, ya no la convertiré, pues ha encerrado en cautiverio, en la Idumea, a toda la gente de mi pueblo, sin haberse acordado de la antigua fraternal alianza.
10Yo enviaré fuego contra los muros de Tiro, el cual reducirá a cenizas sus edificios.
11Esto dice el Señor: Después de tres, cuatro y más maldades de Edom, ya no la convertiré, o perdonaré; porque ha perseguido espada en mano a su hermano Israel, y le ha negado la compasión que le debía tener, conservando contra él hasta el fin su odio reconcentrado y su indignación.
12Yo enviaré fuego contra Temán, que reducirá a pavesas los edificios de Bosra.
13Esto dice el Señor: Después de tres, cuatro y más maldades de los amonitas, ya no los convertiré, o perdonaré; porque ellos para extender sus dominios abrieron los vientres de las preñadas de Galaad.
14Yo enviaré el fuego a los muros de Rabba, el cual abrasará sus edificios, en medio de los alaridos del tiempo de la batalla y del tumulto en el día de la destrucción.
15Y el ídolo Melcom irá al cautiverio, con sus príncipes, dice el Señor.

1LAS palabras de Amós, que fué entre los pastores de Tecoa, las cuales vió acerca de Israel en días de Uzzía rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam hijo de Joas rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.
2Y dijo: Jehová bramará desde Sión, y dará su voz desde Jerusalem; y las estancias de los pastores se enlutarán, y secaráse la cumbre del Carmelo.
3Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Damasco, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque trillaron á Galaad con trillos de hierro.
4Y meteré fuego en la casa de Hazael, y consumirá los palacios de Benhadad.
5Y quebraré la barra de Damasco, y talaré los moradores de Bicath-aven, y los gobernadores de Beth-eden: y el pueblo de Aram será trasportado á Chîr, dice Jehová.
6Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Gaza, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque llevó cautiva toda la cautividad, para entregarlos á Edom.
7Y meteré fuego en el muro de Gaza, y quemará sus palacios.
8Y talaré los moradores de Azoto, y los gobernadores de Ascalón: y tornaré mi mano sobre Ecrón, y las reliquias de los Palestinos perecerán, ha dicho el Señor Jehová.
9Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Tiro, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque entregaron la cautividad entera á Edom, y no se acordaron del concierto de hermanos.
10Y meteré fuego en el muro de Tiro, y consumirá sus palacios.
11Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Edom, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque persiguió á cuchillo á su hermano, y rompió sus conmiseraciones; y con su furor le ha robado siempre, y ha perpetuamente guardado el enojo.
12Y meteré fuego en Temán, y consumirá los palacios de Bosra.
13Así ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de los hijos de Ammón, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque abrieron las preñadas de Galaad, para ensanchar su término.
14Y encenderé fuego en el muro de Rabba, y consumirá sus palacios con estruendo en día de batalla, con tempestad en día tempestuoso:
15Y su rey irá en cautiverio, él y sus príncipes todos, dice Jehová.

1The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
4But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
5I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
6Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
7But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
8And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
9Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
10But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
11Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.

12but I will send a fire on Teman, and it will devour the palaces of Bozrah.”
13The LORD says: “For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, that they may enlarge their border.
14But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it will devour its palaces, with shouting in the day of battle, with a storm in the day of the whirlwind;
15and their king will go into captivity, he and his princes together,” says the LORD.
