Le grand prêtre dit : « En est-il bien ainsi ? »

EL príncipe de los sacerdotes dijo entonces: ¿Es esto así?

Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

The high priest said, “Are these things so?”

Il répondit : « Frères et pères, écoutez. Le Dieu de la gloire est apparu à notre père Abraham lorsqu'il était en Mésopotamie, avant de s'établir à Charan,

Y él dijo: Varones hermanos y padres, oid: El Dios de la gloria apareció á nuestro padre Abraham, estando en Mesopotamia, antes que morase en Chârán,

And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

He said, “Brothers and fathers, listen. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran,

et lui a dit : ‘Sors de ton pays et de ta parenté, et viens dans un pays que je te montrerai.’

Y le dijo: Sal de tu tierra y de tu parentela, y ven á la tierra que te mostraré.

And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.

and said to him, ‘Get out of your land and away from your relatives, and come into a land which I will show you.’

Il est alors sorti du pays des Chaldéens et s'est établi à Charan. De là, après la mort de son père, Dieu l'a fait passer dans ce pays où vous habitez maintenant.

Entonces salió de la tierra de los Caldeos, y habitó en Chârán: y de allí, muerto su padre, le traspasó á esta tierra, en la cual vosotros habitáis ahora;

Then came he out of the land of the Chaldæans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.

Then he came out of the land of the Chaldaeans and lived in Haran. From there, when his father was dead, God moved him into this land where you are now living.

Il ne lui y a donné aucun héritage, non, pas même de quoi poser le pied. Il a promis de le lui donner en possession, ainsi qu'à sa descendance après lui, alors qu'il n'avait pas encore d'enfant.

Y no le dió herencia en ella, ni aun para asentar un pie: mas le prometió que se la daría en posesión, y á su simiente después de él, no teniendo hijo.

And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.

Dieu a parlé ainsi : sa descendance séjournerait comme étrangère dans un pays étranger, et qu'elle serait réduite en esclavage et maltraitée pendant quatre cents ans.

Y hablóle Dios así: Que su simiente sería extranjera en tierra ajena, y que los reducirían á servidumbre y maltratarían, por cuatrocientos años.

And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.

God spoke in this way: that his offspring would live as aliens in a strange land, and that they would be enslaved and mistreated for four hundred years.

‘Je jugerai la nation dont ils auront été les esclaves,’ a dit Dieu, ‘et après cela, ils sortiront et me serviront dans ce lieu.’

Mas yo juzgaré, dijo Dios, la nación á la cual serán siervos: y después de esto saldrán y me servirán en este lugar.

And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.

‘I will judge the nation to which they will be in bondage,’ said God, ‘and after that they will come out and serve me in this place.’

Il lui a donné l'alliance de la circoncision. Ainsi Abraham a engendré Isaac, et l'a circoncis le huitième jour. Isaac a engendré Jacob, et Jacob a engendré les douze patriarches.

Y dióle el pacto de la circuncisión: y así Abraham engendró á Isaac, y le circuncidó al octavo día; é Isaac á Jacob, y Jacob á los doce patriarcas.

And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.

« Les patriarches, animés de jalousie contre Joseph, l'ont vendu pour être mené en Égypte. Dieu était avec lui

Y los patriarcas, movidos de envidia, vendieron á José para Egipto; mas Dios era con él,

And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

“The patriarchs, moved with jealousy against Joseph, sold him into Egypt. God was with him

et l'a délivré de toutes ses afflictions, et lui a donné grâce et sagesse devant le Pharaon, roi d'Égypte. Celui-ci l'a établi gouverneur sur l'Égypte et sur toute sa maison.

Y le libró de todas sus tribulaciones, y le dió gracia y sabiduría en la presencia de Faraón, rey de Egipto, el cual le puso por gobernador sobre Egipto, y sobre toda su casa.

And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

Or, une famine est survenue dans tout le pays d'Égypte et de Canaan, avec une grande détresse. Nos pères ne trouvaient pas de nourriture.

Vino entonces hambre en toda la tierra de Egipto y de Canaán, y grande tribulación; y nuestros padres no hallaban alimentos.

Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.

Mais quand Jacob a appris qu'il y avait du blé en Égypte, il y a envoyé nos pères une première fois.

Y como oyese Jacob que había trigo en Egipto, envió á nuestros padres la primera vez.

La seconde fois, Joseph s'est fait connaître à ses frères, et la famille de Joseph a été révélée au Pharaon.

Y en la segunda, José fué conocido de sus hermanos, y fué sabido de Faraón el linaje de José.

And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph’s kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.

Joseph a envoyé chercher Jacob son père et toute sa parenté, soixante-quinze âmes.

Y enviando José, hizo venir á su padre Jacob, y á toda su parentela, en número de setenta y cinco personas.

Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.

et ils ont été ramenés à Sichem et déposés dans le tombeau qu'Abraham avait acheté à prix d'argent aux enfants de Hamor de Sichem.

Los cuales fueron trasladados á Sichêm, y puestos en el sepulcro que compró Abraham á precio de dinero de los hijos de Hemor de Sichêm.

And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.

and they were brought back to Shechem and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a price in silver from the children of Hamor of Shechem.

« Mais comme approchait le temps de la promesse que Dieu avait jurée à Abraham, le peuple a grandi et s'est multiplié en Égypte,

Mas como se acercaba el tiempo de la promesa, la cual Dios había jurado á Abraham, el pueblo creció y multiplicóse en Egipto,

But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

“But as the time of the promise came close which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

jusqu'à ce que se lève un autre roi, qui n'avait pas connu Joseph.

Hasta que se levantó otro rey en Egipto que no conocía á José.

Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.

until there arose a different king who didn’t know Joseph.

Ce roi a usé de ruse envers notre race et a maltraité nos pères, les forçant à abandonner leurs bébés, afin qu'ils ne restent pas en vie.

Este, usando de astucia con nuestro linaje, maltrató á nuestros padres, á fin de que pusiesen á peligro de muerte sus niños, para que cesase la generación.

The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.

The same took advantage of our race and mistreated our fathers, and forced them to abandon their babies, so that they wouldn’t stay alive.

À cette époque, Moïse est né, et il était extrêmement beau aux yeux de Dieu. Il a été nourri trois mois dans la maison de son père.

En aquel mismo tiempo nació Moisés, y fué agradable á Dios: y fué criado tres meses en casa de su padre.

In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father’s house three months:

At that time Moses was born, and was exceedingly handsome to God. He was nourished three months in his father’s house.

Quand il a été abandonné, la fille du Pharaon l'a recueilli et l'a élevé comme son propre fils.

Mas siendo puesto al peligro, la hija de Faraón le tomó, y le crió como á hijo suyo.

And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

When he was abandoned, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up and reared him as her own son.

Moïse a été instruit dans toute la sagesse des Égyptiens. Il était puissant en paroles et en œuvres.

Y fué enseñado Moisés en toda la sabiduría de los egipcios; y era poderoso en sus dichos y hechos.

And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. He was mighty in his words and works.

Mais quand il a eu quarante ans, il lui est venu à cœur de visiter ses frères, les enfants d'Israël.

Y cuando hubo cumplido la edad de cuarenta años, le vino voluntad de visitar á sus hermanos los hijos de Israel.

And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.

But when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel.

Voyant l'un d'eux subir une injustice, il a pris sa défense et a vengé celui qui était opprimé, en frappant l'Égyptien.

Y como vió á uno que era injuriado, defendióle, é hiriendo al Egipcio, vengó al injuriado.

And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:

Il pensait que ses frères comprendraient que Dieu, par sa main, leur accordait la délivrance ; mais ils ne l'ont pas compris.

Pero él pensaba que sus hermanos entendían que Dios les había de dar salud por su mano; mas ellos no lo habían entendido.

For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.

He supposed that his brothers understood that God, by his hand, was giving them deliverance; but they didn’t understand.

« Le jour suivant, il s'est présenté à eux alors qu'ils se battaient, et il les a exhortés à faire la paix, en disant : ‘Messieurs, vous êtes frères. Pourquoi vous faites-vous du tort l'un à l'autre ?’

Y al día siguiente, riñendo ellos, se les mostró, y los ponía en paz, diciendo: Varones, hermanos sois, ¿por qué os injuriáis los unos á los otros?

And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?

“The day following, he appeared to them as they fought, and urged them to be at peace again, saying, ‘Sirs, you are brothers. Why do you wrong one another?’

Mais celui qui faisait du tort à son prochain l'a repoussé, en disant : ‘Qui t'a établi chef et juge sur nous ?

Entonces el que injuriaba á su prójimo, le rempujó, diciendo: ¿Quién te ha puesto por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros?

But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?

But he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?

Veux-tu me tuer comme tu as tué l'Égyptien hier ?’

¿Quieres tú matarme, como mataste ayer al Egipcio?

Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?

Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’

À cette parole, Moïse s'est enfui et est devenu étranger dans le pays de Madian, où il a engendré deux fils.

A esta palabra Moisés huyó, y se hizo extranjero en tierra de Madián, donde engendró dos hijos.

Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.

« Quand quarante ans se sont écoulés, un ange du Seigneur lui est apparu dans le désert du mont Sinaï, dans la flamme de feu d'un buisson.

Y cumplidos cuarenta años, un ángel le apareció en el desierto del monte Sina, en fuego de llama de una zarza.

And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.

“When forty years were fulfilled, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush.

Quand Moïse l'a vu, il s'est étonné de cette vision. Comme il s'approchait pour regarder, la voix du Seigneur s'est fait entendre :

Entonces Moisés mirando, se maravilló de la visión: y llegándose para considerar, fué hecha á él voz del Señor:

When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,

‘Je suis le Dieu de tes pères : le Dieu d'Abraham, le Dieu d'Isaac, et le Dieu de Jacob.’ Moïse, tout tremblant, n'osait pas regarder.

Yo soy el Dios de tus padres, el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob. Mas Moisés, temeroso, no osaba mirar.

Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.

‘I am the God of your fathers: the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ Moses trembled and dared not look.

Le Seigneur lui a dit : ‘Ôte tes sandales, car le lieu où tu te tiens est une terre sainte.

Y le dijo el Señor: Quita los zapatos de tus pies, porque el lugar en que estás es tierra santa.

Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

The Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you stand is holy ground.

J'ai bien vu l'affliction de mon peuple qui est en Égypte, et j'ai entendu leurs gémissements. Je suis descendu pour les délivrer. Maintenant viens, je t'enverrai en Égypte.’

He visto, he visto la aflicción de mi pueblo que está en Egipto, y he oído el gemido de ellos, y he descendido para librarlos. Ahora pues, ven, te enviaré á Egipto.

I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.

I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning. I have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you into Egypt.’

« Ce Moïse qu'ils avaient rejeté, en disant : ‘Qui t'a établi chef et juge ?’ — c'est lui que Dieu a envoyé comme chef et libérateur par la main de l'ange qui lui était apparu dans le buisson.

A este Moisés, al cual habían rehusado, diciendo: ¿Quién te ha puesto por príncipe y juez? á éste envió Dios por príncipe y redentor con la mano del ángel que le apareció en la zarza.

This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

“This Moses whom they refused, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—God has sent him as both a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

Cet homme les a fait sortir, en accomplissant des prodiges et des signes en Égypte, à la mer Rouge, et dans le désert pendant quarante ans.

Este los sacó, habiendo hecho prodigios y milagros en la tierra de Egipto, y en el mar Bermejo, y en el desierto por cuarenta años.

He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

This man led them out, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt, in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.

C'est ce Moïse qui a dit aux enfants d'Israël : ‘Le Seigneur notre Dieu vous suscitera d'entre vos frères un prophète comme moi.’

Este es el Moisés, el cual dijo á los hijos de Israel: Profeta os levantará el Señor Dios vuestro de vuestros hermanos, como yo; á él oiréis.

This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘The Lord our God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me.’

C'est lui qui, dans l'assemblée au désert, était avec l'ange qui lui parlait sur le mont Sinaï, et avec nos pères ; il a reçu des oracles vivants pour nous les donner.

Este es aquél que estuvo en la congregación en el desierto con el ángel que le hablaba en el monte Sina, y con nuestros padres; y recibió las palabras de vida para darnos:

This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

This is he who was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel that spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who received living revelations to give to us,

Nos pères n'ont pas voulu lui obéir, mais ils l'ont rejeté et se sont tournés dans leurs cœurs vers l'Égypte,

Al cual nuestros padres no quisieron obedecer; antes le desecharon, y se apartaron de corazón á Egipto,

To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,

to whom our fathers wouldn’t be obedient, but rejected him and turned back in their hearts to Egypt,

en disant à Aaron : ‘Fais-nous des dieux qui marchent devant nous, car pour ce Moïse qui nous a fait sortir du pays d'Égypte, nous ne savons pas ce qu'il est devenu.’

Diciendo á Aarón: Haznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros; porque á este Moisés, que nos sacó de tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le ha acontecido.

Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods that will go before us, for as for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’

Ils ont fabriqué un veau en ces jours-là, ont offert un sacrifice à l'idole, et se sont réjouis des œuvres de leurs mains.

Y entonces hicieron un becerro, y ofrecieron sacrificio al ídolo, y en las obras de sus manos se holgaron.

And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

Mais Dieu s'est détourné et les a livrés pour qu'ils servent l'armée du ciel, comme il est écrit dans le livre des prophètes : ‘M'avez-vous offert des animaux égorgés et des sacrifices pendant quarante ans dans le désert, ô maison d'Israël ?

Y Dios se apartó, y los entregó que sirviesen al ejército del cielo; como está escrito en el libro de los profetas: ¿Me ofrecisteis víctimas y sacrificios en el desierto por cuarenta años, casa de Israel?

Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

But God turned away and gave them up to serve the army of the sky, as it is written in the book of the prophets, ‘Did you offer to me slain animals and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?

Vous avez porté le tabernacle de Moloch, l'étoile de votre dieu Rephan, les figures que vous avez faites pour les adorer. Je vous déporterai donc au-delà de Babylone.’

Antes, trajisteis el tabernáculo de Moloch, y la estrella de vuestro dios Remphan: figuras que os hicisteis para adorarlas: os transportaré pues, más allá de Babilonia.

Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

You took up the tabernacle of Moloch, the star of your god Rephan, the figures which you made to worship, so I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’

« Nos pères avaient le tabernacle du témoignage dans le désert, comme l'avait ordonné celui qui parlait à Moïse, lui demandant de le faire selon le modèle qu'il avait vu ;

Tuvieron nuestros padres el tabernáculo del testimonio en el desierto, como había ordenado Dios, hablando á Moisés que lo hiciese según la forma que había visto.

Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.

“Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony in the wilderness, even as he who spoke to Moses commanded him to make it according to the pattern that he had seen;

nos pères, à leur tour, l'ont introduit avec Josué lorsqu'ils sont entrés en possession du pays des nations que Dieu a chassées devant la face de nos pères, jusqu'aux jours de David.

El cual recibido, metieron también nuestros padres con Josué en la posesión de los Gentiles, que Dios echó de la presencia de nuestros padres, hasta los días de David;

Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Joshua when they entered into the possession of the nations whom God drove out before the face of our fathers to the days of David,

Celui-ci a trouvé grâce devant Dieu, et a demandé de trouver une demeure pour le Dieu de Jacob.

El cual halló gracia delante de Dios, y pidió hallar tabernáculo para el Dios de Jacob.

Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

who found favor in the sight of God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.

Mais c'est Salomon qui lui a bâti une maison.

Cependant, le Très-Haut n'habite pas dans des temples faits de main d'homme, comme le dit le prophète :

Si bien el Altísimo no habita en templos hechos de mano; como el profeta dice:

Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,

‘Le ciel est mon trône, et la terre le marchepied de mes pieds. Quelle maison me bâtirez-vous ?’ dit le Seigneur. ‘Ou quel est le lieu de mon repos ?

El cielo es mi trono, y la tierra es el estrado de mis pies. ¿Qué casa me edificaréis? dice el Señor; ¿ó cuál es el lugar de mi reposo?

Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

‘heaven is my throne, and the earth a footstool for my feet. What kind of house will you build me?’ says the Lord. ‘Or what is the place of my rest?

N'est-ce pas ma main qui a fait toutes ces choses ?’

¿No hizo mi mano todas estas cosas?

Hath not my hand made all these things?

Didn’t my hand make all these things?’

« Hommes au cou raide, incirconcis de cœur et d'oreilles, vous résistez toujours au Saint-Esprit ! Vous faites comme vos pères ont fait.

Duros de cerviz, é incircuncisos de corazón y de oídos, vosotros resistís siempre al Espíritu Santo: como vuestros padres, así también vosotros.

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

“You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit! As your fathers did, so you do.

Lequel des prophètes vos pères n'ont-ils pas persécuté ? Ils ont tué ceux qui annonçaient d'avance la venue du Juste, dont vous êtes maintenant devenus les traîtres et les meurtriers.

¿A cuál de los profetas no persiguieron vuestros padres? y mataron á los que antes anunciaron la venida del Justo, del cual vosotros ahora habéis sido entregadores y matadores;
