1Toutes les tribus d'Israël allèrent ensuite trouver David à Hébron, et elles lui dirent : Vois, nous sommes tes os et ta chair.
2Précédemment, quand Saül régnait encore sur nous, c'est toi qui conduisais et qui ramenais Israël. Et le Seigneur t'avait dit : Tu seras le pasteur du peuple d'Israël, tu seras le chef de mon peuple.
3Tous les anciens d'Israël allèrent aussi en Hébron auprès du roi ; et David fit alliance avec eux devant le Seigneur en Hébron, et ils sacrèrent David roi de tout Israël.
4David avait trente ans quand il commença de régner, et il régna quarante ans.
5Il régna sept ans et demi à Hébron sur Juda, et trente-trois ans à Jérusalem sur Israël et Juda.
6David avec son armée marcha contre Jérusalem et les Jébuséens qui l'habitaient. Or, on dit à David : Tu n'entreras pas là, car les aveugles et les boiteux s'y sont opposés, disant : David n'entrera pas ici.
7David enleva, de prime abord, Sion la citadelle ; la même que la ville de David.
8Et, ce jour-là, David dit : Que tous ceux qui frapperont les Jébuséens les poignardent, ainsi que les aveugles et les boiteux, et les ennemis de David. De là vient le proverbe : Les aveugles et les boiteux n'entreront pas dans la maison du Seigneur.
9David s'établit dans la forteresse, et elle fut appelée la ville de David. Il bâtit la ville même au pied de la citadelle tout alentour, et il bâtit sa demeure.
10David allait ainsi grandissant, et le Seigneur tout-puissant était avec lui.
11Et Hiram, roi de Tyr, envoya à David des messagers, des bois de cèdre, des charpentiers, des tailleurs de pierre, et ils bâtirent la maison de David.
12Et David reconnut que le Seigneur l'avait préparé pour être roi d'Israël, et que sa royauté était exaltée pour le bien-être de tout le peuple d'Israël.
13Il prit encore des femmes et des concubines de Jérusalem, lorsqu'il y fut venu d'Hébron. Et il eut encore des fils et des filles.
14Voici les noms de ceux qui naquirent à Jérusalem : Samua, Sobab, Nathan, Salomon,
15Ebéhar, Elisué, Naphé, Japhia,
16Elisama, Elidaé, Eliphalath, Samaé, Jessibath, Nathan, Galamaan, Jébahar, Theïsus, Eliphalat, Naged, Naphec, Janathas, Leasamys, Baalimath et Eliphaath.
17Cependant, les Philistins apprirent que David avait été sacré roi d'Israël, et ils se levèrent tous pour l'aller prendre. David en fut informé, et il se renferma dans la citadelle.
18Les Philistins s'avancèrent, et ils se réunirent dans le val des Géants.
19Et David consulta le Seigneur, disant : Dois-je marcher contre les Philistins ? me les livrerez-vous ? Et le Seigneur répondit à David : Marche, car je te les livrerai.
20Et David vint au lieu appelé Brisement d'en haut, et il battit les Philistins en ce lieu, et il s'écria : Le Seigneur a brisé devant moi nos ennemis, comme brisent les eaux des torrents. A cause de cela, ce lieu a reçu le nom de Brisement d'en haut.
21Et les Philistins abandonnèrent là leurs dieux, et David avec son armée s'en empara.
22Puis, les Philistins se remirent en campagne, et ils se réunirent encore dans le val des Géants.
23Alors, David consulta le Seigneur, et le Seigneur lui dit : Ne les attaque pas, fais un détour, et tu te mettras en défense près du Champ des Pleurs.
24Et ceci arrivera : Lorsque tu entendras, dans le bois du Champ des Pleurs, des voix comme de gens qui y seraient renfermés, tu engageras la bataille ; car le Seigneur marchera devant toi pour que tu tailles en pièces les Philistins.
25David fit ce que lui avait prescrit le Seigneur, et il tailla en pièces les Philistins depuis Gabaon jusqu'au territoire de Gazera.

1Y VINIERON todas las tribus de Israel á David en Hebrón, y hablaron, diciendo: He aquí nosotros somos tus huesos y tu carne.
2Y aun ayer y antes, cuando Saúl reinaba sobre nosotros, tú sacabas y volvías á Israel. Además Jehová te ha dicho: Tú apacentarás á mi pueblo Israel, y tú serás sobre Israel príncipe.
3Vinieron pues todos los ancianos de Israel al rey en Hebrón, y el rey David hizo con ellos alianza en Hebrón delante de Jehová; y ungieron á David por rey sobre Israel.
4Era David de treinta años cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó cuarenta años.
5En Hebrón reinó sobre Judá siete años y seis meses: y en Jerusalem reinó treinta y tres años sobre todo Israel y Judá.
6Entonces el rey y los suyos fueron á Jerusalem al Jebuseo que habitaba en la tierra; el cual habló á David, diciendo: Tú no entrarás acá, si no echares los ciegos y los cojos; diciendo: No entrará acá David.
7Empero David tomó la fortaleza de Sión, la cual es la ciudad de David.
8Y dijo David aquel día: ¿Quién llegará hasta las canales, y herirá al Jebuseo, y á los cojos y ciegos, á los cuales el alma de David aborrece? Por esto se dijo: Ciego ni cojo no entrará en casa.
9Y David moró en la fortaleza, y púsole por nombre la Ciudad de David: y edificó alrededor, desde Millo para adentro.
10Y David iba creciendo y aumentándose, y Jehová Dios de los ejércitos era con él.
11E Hiram rey de Tiro envió también embajadores á David, y madera de cedro, y carpinteros, y canteros para los muros, los cuales edificaron la casa de David.
12Y entendió David que Jehová le había confirmado por rey sobre Israel, y que había ensalzado su reino por amor de su pueblo Israel.
13Y tomó David más concubinas y mujeres de Jerusalem después que vino de Hebrón, y naciéronle más hijos é hijas.
14Estos son los nombres de los que le nacieron en Jerusalem: Sammua, y Sobab, y Nathán, y Salomón,

17Y oyendo los Filisteos que habían ungido á David por rey sobre Israel, todos los Filisteos subieron á buscar á David: lo cual como David oyó, vino á la fortaleza.
18Y vinieron los Filisteos, y extendiéronse por el valle de Raphaim.
19Entonces consultó David á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Iré contra los Filisteos? ¿los entregarás en mis manos? Y Jehová respondió á David: Ve, porque ciertamente entregaré los Filisteos en tus manos.
20Y vino David á Baal-perasim, y allí los venció David, y dijo: Rompió Jehová mis enemigos delante de mí, como quien rompe aguas. Y por esto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Baal-perasim.
21Y dejaron allí sus ídolos, los cuales quemó David y los suyos.
22Y los Filisteos tornaron á venir, y extendiéronse en el valle de Raphaim.
23Y consultando David á Jehová, él le respondió: No subas; mas rodéalos, y vendrás á ellos por delante de los morales:
24Y cuando oyeres un estruendo que irá por las copas de los morales, entonces te moverás; porque Jehová saldrá delante de ti á herir el campo de los Filisteos.
25Y David lo hizo así, como Jehová se lo había mandado; é hirió á los Filisteos desde Gabaa hasta llegar á Gaza.

1Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
2Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.
3So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.
4David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
6And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.
7Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.
8And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David’s soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
9So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.
10And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.
11And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.
12And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.
13And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
14And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
15Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
16And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.
17But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.
18The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
19And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
20And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
21And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.
22And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
23And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
24And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.
25And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

1Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.
2In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. The LORD said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.’”
3So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel.
4David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
6The king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, “The blind and the lame will keep you out of here,” thinking, “David can’t come in here.”
7Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. This is David’s city.
8David said on that day, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him go up to the watercourse and strike those lame and blind, who are hated by David’s soul.” Therefore they say, “The blind and the lame can’t come into the house.”
9David lived in the stronghold, and called it David’s city. David built around from Millo and inward.
10David grew greater and greater, for the LORD, the God of Armies, was with him.
11Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, with cedar trees, carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.
12David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.
13David took more concubines and wives for himself out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and more sons and daughters were born to David.

20David came to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there. Then he said, “The LORD has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
21They left their images there, and David and his men took them away.
22The Philistines came up yet again and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
23When David inquired of the LORD, he said, “You shall not go up. Circle around behind them, and attack them in front of the mulberry trees.
24When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then stir yourself up; for then the LORD has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
25David did so, as the LORD commanded him, and struck the Philistines all the way from Geba to Gezer.
