Während sich nun der Krieg zwischen dem Hause Sauls und dem Hause David lange hinzog, wurde David immer mächtiger, das Haus Sauls aber immer schwächer.

Y HUBO larga guerra entre la casa de Saúl y la casa de David; mas David se iba fortificando, y la casa de Saúl iba en disminución.

Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.

In Hebron wurden David Söhne geboren: sein Erstgeborener war Amnon, von Ahinoam aus Jesreel,

And unto David were sons born in Hebron: and his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess;

Während nun der Krieg zwischen dem Hause Sauls und dem Hause Davids währte, stand Abner dem Hause Sauls kräftig zur Seite.

Y como había guerra entre la casa de Saúl y la de David, aconteció que Abner se esforzaba por la casa de Saúl.

And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.

While there was war between Saul’s house and David’s house, Abner made himself strong in Saul’s house.

Nun hatte Saul ein Kebsweib, Namens Rizpa, eine Tochter Ajas, gehabt. Da fragte Sauls Sohn Esbaal Abner: Warum bist du zu meines Vaters Kebsweib gegangen?

Y había Saúl tenido una concubina que se llamaba Rispa, hija de Aja. Y dijo Is-boseth á Abner: ¿Por qué has entrado á la concubina de mi padre?

And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ish-bosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my father’s concubine?

Now Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah; and Ishbosheth said to Abner, “Why have you gone in to my father’s concubine?”

Über diese Frage Esbaals erzürnte sich Abner heftig und er rief: Bin ich denn ein judäischer Hundskopf? Heute übe ich Liebesdienste an dem Hause deines Vaters Saul gegenüber seinen eigenen Angehörigen und Freunden und habe dich nicht in Davids Hände geraten lassen - und heute machst du mir Vorwürfe um eines Weibes willen!

Y enojóse Abner en gran manera por las palabras de Is-boseth, y dijo: ¿Soy yo cabeza de perros respecto de Judá? Yo he hecho hoy misericordia con la casa de Saúl tu padre, con sus hermanos, y con sus amigos, y no te he entregado en las manos de David: ¿y tú me haces hoy cargo del pecado de esta mujer?

Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I a dog’s head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?

Then Abner was very angry about Ishbosheth’s words, and said, “Am I a dog’s head that belongs to Judah? Today I show kindness to your father Saul’s house, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David; and yet you charge me today with a fault concerning this woman!

Gott tue Abner dies und das - was Jahwe David zugeschworen hat, werde ich an ihm erfüllen:

Así haga Dios á Abner y así le añada, si como ha jurado Jehová á David no hiciere yo así con él,

So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him;

ich werde das Königtum dem Hause Sauls abnehmen, um Davids Thron über Israel und Juda aufzurichten von Dan bis Beerseba!

Trasladando el reino de la casa de Saúl, y confirmando el trono de David sobre Israel y sobre Judá, desde Dan hasta Beer-sebah.

To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba.

to transfer the kingdom from Saul’s house, and to set up David’s throne over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba.”

Jener vermochte Abner aus Furcht vor ihm kein Wort zu erwidern.

Y él no pudo responder palabra á Abner, porque le temía.

And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.

So schickte denn Abner Gesandte zu David nach Hebron mit der Botschaft: Wem gehört das Land? Damit wollte er sagen: Schließe einen Vertrag mit mir, so werde ich dir Beistand leisten, daß du ganz Israel auf deine Seite bringst!

Y envió Abner mensajeros á David de su parte, diciendo: ¿Cúya es la tierra? Y que le dijesen: Haz alianza conmigo, y he aquí que mi mano será contigo para volver á ti á todo Israel.

And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make thy league with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.

Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, “Whose is the land?” and saying, “Make your alliance with me, and behold, my hand will be with you to bring all Israel around to you.”

Jener gab zur Antwort: Gut, ich schließe einen Vertrag mit dir; nur stelle ich dabei eine Forderung an dich, nämlich: du trittst mir nicht unter die Augen, ohne daß du Sauls Tochter Michal mitbringst, wenn du herkommst, um mir unter die Augen zu treten.

Y David dijo: Bien; yo haré contigo alianza: mas una cosa te pido, y es, que no me vengas á ver sin que primero traigas á Michâl la hija de Saúl, cuando vinieres á verme.

And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul’s daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

David said, “Good. I will make a treaty with you, but one thing I require of you. That is, you will not see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come to see my face.”

Aber David schickte Gesandte an Sauls Sohn Esbaal mit der Forderung: Gieb mein Weib Michal heraus, das ich mir um den Preis von hundert Philistervorhäuten gefreit habe!

Después de esto envió David mensajeros á Is-boseth hijo de Saúl, diciendo: Restitúyeme á mi mujer Michâl, la cual yo desposé conmigo por cien prepucios de Filisteos.

And David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth Saul’s son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul’s son, saying, “Deliver me my wife Michal, whom I was given to marry for one hundred foreskins of the Philistines.”

Da schickte Esbaal hin und ließ sie ihrem Gatten Paltiel, dem Sohne des Lais, wegnehmen.

Entonces Is-boseth envió, y quitóla á su marido Paltiel, hijo de Lais.

And Ish-bosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from Phaltiel the son of Laish.

Ihr Gatte gab ihr das Geleite und folgte ihr unter beständigem Weinen bis Bahurim. Hier rief Abner ihn an: Fort! Geh heim! Da kehrte er heim.

Y su marido fué con ella, siguiéndola y llorando hasta Bahurim. Y díjole Abner: Anda, vuélvete. Entonces él se volvió.

And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned.

Nun hatte Abner mit den Vornehmsten in Israel Verhandlungen gepflogen und ihnen vorgehalten: Schon längst habt ihr David zum König über euch begehrt:

Y habló Abner con los ancianos de Israel, diciendo: Ayer y antes procurabais que David fuese rey sobre vosotros;

And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you:

so führt es denn jetzt aus; denn Jahwe hat David zugesagt: Durch die Hand meines Knechtes David will ich mein Volk Israel aus der Gewalt der Philister und aller ihrer Feinde befreien.

Ahora, pues, hacedlo; porque Jehová ha hablado á David, diciendo: Por la mano de mi siervo David libraré á mi pueblo Israel de mano de los Filisteos, y de mano de todos sus enemigos.

Now then do it: for the LORD hath spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.

Ebenso sprach sich Abner gegen die Benjaminiten aus und machte sich außerdem auf den Weg, um David in Hebron die Willensmeinung Israels und des ganzen Stammes Benjamin zu eröffnen.

Y habló también Abner á los de Benjamín: y fué también Abner á Hebrón á decir á David todo el parecer de los de Israel y de toda la casa de Benjamín.

And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin: and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.

Als nun Abner in Begleitung von zwanzig Männern zu David nach Hebron kam, veranstaltete David für Abner und die ihn begleitenden Männer ein Gastmahl.

Da sprach Abner zu David: Ich will mich auf den Weg machen und um den König, meinen Herrn, das ganze Israel scharen, daß es einen Vertrag mit dir schließt - dann kannst du König sein, soweit als du irgend Lust hast! Darnach entließ David Abner, und er ging unbehelligt hinweg.

And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.

Abner said to David, “I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel to my lord the king, that they may make a covenant with you, and that you may reign over all that your soul desires.” David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.

Plötzlich aber kamen Davids Krieger mit Joab von einem Streifzug heim und brachten reiche Beute mit, während Abner schon nicht mehr bei David in Hebron war, sondern jener ihn unbehelligt hatte ziehen lassen.

Y he aquí los siervos de David y Joab, que venían del campo, y traían consigo gran presa. Mas Abner no estaba con David en Hebrón, que ya lo había él despedido, y él se había ido en paz.

And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.

Als nun Joab mit der ganzen Truppe, die mit ihm gewesen war, heimkam, hinterbrachte man Joab: Abner, der Sohn Ners, hat den König besucht, und er hat ihn unbehelligt wieder ziehen lassen.

Y luego que llegó Joab y todo el ejército que con él estaba, fué dado aviso á Joab, diciendo: Abner hijo de Ner ha venido al rey, y él le ha despedido, y se fué en paz.

When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.

Da ging Joab zum König und sprach: Was hast du gethan! Also Abner hat dich besucht: warum hast du ihn denn wieder davon ziehen lassen?

Entonces Joab vino al rey, y díjole: ¿Qué has hecho? He aquí habíase venido Abner á ti: ¿por qué pues lo dejaste que se fuése?

Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?

Then Joab came to the king and said, “What have you done? Behold, Abner came to you. Why is it that you have sent him away, and he is already gone?

Merkst du nicht, daß Abner, der Sohn Ners, nur gekommen ist, um dich zu hintergehen und dein Thun und Lassen und alles, was du unternimmst, zu erkunden?

¿Sabes tú que Abner hijo de Ner ha venido para engañarte, y á saber tu salida y tu entrada, y por entender todo lo que tú haces?

Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.

You know Abner the son of Ner. He came to deceive you, and to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you do.”

Und als Joab David verlassen hatte, schickte er Abner Boten nach; die holten ihn von Bor Hasira wieder zurück, ohne daß David darum wußte.

Y saliéndose Joab de con David, envió mensajeros tras Abner, los cuales le volvieron desde el pozo de Sira, sin saberlo David.

Als nun Abner nach Hebron zurückkam, nahm ihn Joab beiseite in einen Winkel des Thors, um vertraulich mit ihm zu reden, und stach ihn hier in den Leib, daß er starb - zur Rache für das Blut seines Bruders Asahel.

Y como Abner volvió á Hebrón, apartólo Joab al medio de la puerta, hablando con él blandamente, y allí le hirió por la quinta costilla, á causa de la muerte de Asael su hermano, y murió.

And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

Als David es nachträglich erfuhr, rief er aus: Ich und mein Königtum sind für immer unschuldig vor Jahwe an dem Blut Abners, des Sohnes Ners!

Cuando David supo después esto, dijo: Limpio estoy yo y mi reino, por Jehová, para siempre, de la sangre de Abner hijo de Ner.

And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:

Möge es zurückfallen auf das Haupt Joabs und auf seines Vaters ganze Familie, und mögen in Joabs Familie kein Ende nehmen solche, die an Fluß und Aussatz leiden, Leute, die sich auf Krücken stützen, die durchs Schwert fallen oder denen es an Brot fehlt!

Caiga sobre la cabeza de Joab, y sobre toda la casa de su padre; que nunca falte de la casa de Joab quien padezca flujo, ni leproso, ni quien ande con báculo, ni quien muera á cuchillo, ni quien tenga falta de pan.

Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father’s house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.

Joab und sein Bruder Abisai hatten nämlich Abner ermordet, weil er ihren Bruder Asahel bei Gibeon im Kampfe getötet hatte.

Und David gebot Joab und seiner gesamten Umgebung: Zerreißt eure Kleider, gürtet euch härene Gewänder um und geht wehklagend vor Abner her! Der König David aber schritt hinter der Bahre her,

Entonces dijo David á Joab, y á todo el pueblo que con él estaba: Romped vuestros vestidos, y ceñíos de sacos, y haced duelo delante de Abner. Y el rey iba detrás del féretro.

And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.

David said to Joab and to all the people who were with him, “Tear your clothes, and clothe yourselves with sackcloth, and mourn in front of Abner.” King David followed the bier.

und als man Abner in Hebron begrub, weinte der König gegen Abners Grab hin laut auf, und die Volksmenge weinte gleichfalls.

Y sepultaron á Abner en Hebrón: y alzando el rey su voz, lloró junto al sepulcro de Abner; y lloró también todo el pueblo.

And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.

Sodann dichtete der König auf Abner folgendes Klagelied: Mußte Abner den Tod eines Gottlosen sterben:

Deine Hände waren nicht gebunden, deine Füße nicht in Fesseln geschlagen - wie einer vor Ruchlosen fällt, bist du gefallen! Da weinte die Volksmenge noch mehr um ihn.

Tus manos no estaban atadas, ni tus pies ligados con grillos: caíste como los que caen delante de malos hombres. Y todo el pueblo volvió á llorar sobre él.

Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into fetters: as a man falleth before wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people wept again over him.

Your hands weren’t bound, and your feet weren’t put into fetters. As a man falls before the children of iniquity, so you fell.” All the people wept again over him.

Während es noch Tag war, kam dann die Volksmenge, um David zu nötigen, daß er etwas genieße. Aber David schwur: Gott thue mir dies und das, wenn ich vor Sonnenuntergang Brot oder irgend etwas sonst genieße!

Y como todo el pueblo viniese á dar de comer pan á David siendo aún de día, David juró, diciendo: Así me haga Dios y así me añada, si antes que se ponga el sol gustare yo pan, ú otra cualquier cosa.

And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.

All the people came to urge David to eat bread while it was yet day; but David swore, saying, “God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else, until the sun goes down.”

Als dies die Volksmenge wahrnahm, gefiel es ihr wohl; überhaupt gefiel alles, was der König that, der Volksmenge wohl.

Súpolo así todo el pueblo, y plugo en sus ojos; porque todo lo que el rey hacía parecía bien en ojos de todo el pueblo.

And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.

Damals überzeugte sich die Volksmenge und ganz Israel, daß die Ermordung Abners, des Sohnes Ners, nicht vom König ausgegangen war.

Y todo el pueblo y todo Israel entendieron aquel día, que no había venido del rey que Abner hijo de Ner muriese.

For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.

Auch äußerte der König gegen seine Umgebung: Wisset ihr nicht, daß heute ein Fürst und Großer in Israel gefallen ist?

Y el rey dijo á sus siervos: ¿No sabéis que ha caído hoy en Israel un príncipe, y grande?

And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

The king said to his servants, “Don’t you know that a prince and a great man has fallen today in Israel?

Ich aber bin heute, obwohl zum Könige gesalbt, schwach, während diese Leute, die Söhne der Zeruja, in ihrer Gewaltthätigkeit mir überlegen sind! Möge Jahwe dem, der den Frevel begangen hat, seinem Frevel gemäß vergelten!

Que yo ahora aun soy tierno rey ungido; y estos hombres, los hijos de Sarvia, muy duros me son: Jehová dé el pago al que mal hace, conforme á su malicia.

And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

I am weak today, though anointed king. These men, the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me. May the LORD reward the evildoer according to his wickedness.”
