17Quando Davi viu o anjo que matava o povo, ele disse ao Senhor: “Ó Deus, eu sou o único que pequei contra o Senhor! Por que o meu povo, que me segue como rebanho, precisa pagar pelo meu erro? Deixe que o seu castigo caia somente sobre mim e a minha família”.

17And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father’s house.
