2El rey David convocó a los gabaonitas. Ellos no formaban parte de Israel, sino que eran el remanente de la nación de los amorreos. Israel había prometido no matarlos; pero Saúl, debido a su celo por Judá e Israel, había tratado de acabar con ellos.
