1Im folgenden Jahre aber sandte David zu der Zeit, wo die Könige ins Feld zu ziehen pflegen, Joab samt seinen Hauptleuten und der Heeresmacht von ganz Israel aus. Sie verwüsteten das Land der Ammoniter und belagerten Rabba, während David in Jerusalem geblieben war.

1Y ACONTECIÓ á la vuelta de un año, en el tiempo que salen los reyes á la guerra, que David envió á Joab, y á sus siervos con él, y á todo Israel; y destruyeron á los Ammonitas, y pusieron cerco á Rabba: mas David se quedó en Jerusalem.

1And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.
