Palabra de Dios para Ti
1Eliseo habló a aquella mujer, cuyo hijo resucitó, y le dijo: Levántate y vete, tú y tu casa, y vive donde puedas. Porque Yavé llamó al hambre, la cual vendrá también sobre esta tierra por siete años.
2La mujer se levantó e hizo conforme a la palabra del varón de ʼElohim. Se fue con los de su casa, y vivió como extranjera en tierra de los filisteos durante siete años.
3Sucedió al terminar los siete años que la mujer volvió de la tierra de los filisteos, y salió para implorar al rey que le entregara su casa y su tierra.
4El rey habló a Giezi, esclavo del varón de ʼElohim: Cuéntame ahora todos los prodigios que Eliseo hizo.
5Sucedió que, mientras él contaba al rey cómo resucitó al muerto, llegó allí la mujer cuyo hijo resucitó, a implorar al rey que le devolviera su casa y su tierra. Entonces dijo Giezi: Rey, ʼadón mío, ésta es la mujer y este es su hijo, al cual Eliseo dio vida.
6Entonces el rey preguntó a la mujer, y ella le contó. Así que el rey le asignó un funcionario, y le dijo: Restituye todo lo que era de ella, y todo el producto del campo desde el día cuando salió del país hasta ahora.
7Eliseo fue a Damasco. Ben-adad, rey de Siria, estaba enfermo y le dijeron: El varón de ʼElohim vino aquí.
8Y el rey dijo a Hazael: Toma en tu mano un presente, y vé a encontrar al varón de ʼElohim. Consulta a Yavé por medio de él y pregunta: ¿Sanaré de esta enfermedad?
9Hazael fue a encontrarse con él y llevó consigo un presente de lo mejor de Damasco: una carga de 40 camellos. Se detuvo ante él y le dijo: Tu hijo Ben-adad, rey de Siria, me envía a ti para preguntar: ¿Sanaré de esta enfermedad?
10Eliseo le respondió: Vé y dile: Ciertamente te recuperarás, pero Yavé me mostró que realmente morirás.
11El varón de ʼElohim lo miró fijamente hasta que aquél se ruborizó. Entonces el varón de ʼElohim lloró.
12Y Hazael preguntó: ¿Por qué llora mi ʼadon? Y él contestó: Porque sé el mal que harás a los hijos de Israel: pondrás fuego a sus fortalezas, matarás a espada a sus jóvenes, estrellarás a sus niños y abrirás el vientre a sus mujeres embarazadas.
13Hazael preguntó: ¿Qué es tu esclavo, sino un perro, para que haga cosas tan grandes? Y Eliseo respondió: Yavé me mostró que tú serás rey de Siria.
14Hazael se alejó de Eliseo y fue a su ʼadón, quien le preguntó: ¿Qué te dijo Eliseo? Y él dijo: Me dijo que ciertamente te recuperarás.
15Sucedió al día siguiente que Ben-adad tomó un paño grueso, lo empapó en agua, lo extendió sobre su cara y murió. Y Hazael reinó en su lugar.
16El año quinto de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel cuando Josafat era rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joram, hijo de Josafat, rey de Judá.
17Tenía 32 años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó ocho años en Jerusalén.
18Anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como la casa de Acab, pues su esposa fue una hija de Acab, e hizo lo malo ante Yavé.
19Pero Yavé no quiso destruir a Judá a causa de su esclavo David, pues prometió darle a él y a sus hijos una lámpara para siempre.
20En sus días Edom se rebeló contra el dominio de Judá y decidieron que un rey reinara sobre ellos.
21Entonces Joram, hijo de Josafat, fue a Zaír con todos los carruajes. Se levantó de noche y atacó a los de Edom, quienes lo rodearon junto con los jefes de los carruajes. La tropa huyó a sus tiendas.
22Pero Edom siguió en rebelión contra el dominio de Judá hasta hoy. En aquel tiempo también se rebeló Libna.
23Los demás hechos y cosas de Joram, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
24Joram descansó con sus antepasados y fue sepultado con sus antepasados en la Ciudad de David. Su hijo Ocozías reinó en su lugar.
25El año 12 de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá.
26Ocozías tenía 22 años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó un año en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Atalía, hija de Omri, rey de Israel.
27Anduvo en el camino de la casa de Acab e hizo lo malo ante Yavé como la casa de Acab, porque era su yerno.
28Ocozías fue a la guerra con el rey Joram, hijo de Acab, contra Hazael, rey de Siria, en Ramot de Galaad, pero los sirios derrotaron a Joram.
29El rey Joram regresó a Jezreel para ser curado de las heridas que los sirios le infligieron cuando combatía contra Hazael, rey de Siria, en Ramá. Entonces Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, bajó a Jezreel para ver a Joram, hijo de Acab, porque éste estaba enfermo.

1Y HABLÓ Eliseo á aquella mujer á cuyo hijo había hecho vivir, diciendo: Levántate, vete tú y toda tu casa á vivir donde pudieres; porque Jehová ha llamado el hambre, la cual vendrá también sobre la tierra siete años.
2Entonces la mujer se levantó, é hizo como el varón de Dios le dijo: y partióse ella con su familia, y vivió en tierra de los Filisteos siete años.
3Y como fueron pasados los siete años, la mujer volvió de la tierra de los Filisteos: después salió para clamar al rey por su casa, y por sus tierras.
4Y había el rey hablado con Giezi, criado del varón de Dios, diciéndole: Ruégote que me cuentes todas las maravillas que ha hecho Eliseo.
5Y contando él al rey cómo había hecho vivir á un muerto, he aquí la mujer, á cuyo hijo había hecho vivir, que clamaba al rey por su casa y por sus tierras. Entonces dijo Giezi: Rey señor mío, esta es la mujer, y este es su hijo, al cual Eliseo hizo vivir.
6Y preguntando el rey á la mujer, ella se lo contó. Entonces el rey le dió un eunuco, diciéndole: Hazle volver todas las cosas que eran suyas, y todos los frutos de las tierras desde el día que dejó el país hasta ahora.
7Eliseo se fué luego á Damasco, y Ben-adad rey de Siria estaba enfermo, al cual dieron aviso, diciendo: El varón de Dios ha venido aquí.
8Y el rey dijo á Hazael: Toma en tu mano un presente, y ve á recibir al varón de Dios, y consulta por él á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Tengo de sanar de esta enfermedad?
9Tomó pues Hazael en su mano un presente de todos los bienes de Damasco, cuarenta camellos cargados, y saliólo á recibir: y llegó, y púsose delante de él, y dijo: Tu hijo Ben-adad, rey de Siria, me ha enviado á ti, diciendo: ¿Tengo de sanar de esta enfermedad?
10Y Eliseo le dijo: Ve, dile: Seguramente vivirás. Empero Jehová me ha mostrado que él ha de morir ciertamente.
11Y el varón de Dios le volvió el rostro afirmadamente, y estúvose así una gran pieza; y lloró el varón de Dios.
12Entonces díjole Hazael: ¿Por qué llora mi señor? Y él respondió: Porque sé el mal que has de hacer á los hijos de Israel: á sus fortalezas pegarás fuego, y á sus mancebos matarás á cuchillo, y estrellarás á sus niños, y abrirás á sus preñadas.
13Y Hazael dijo: ¿Por qué? ¿es tu siervo perro, que hará esta gran cosa? Y respondió Eliseo: Jehová me ha mostrado que tú has de ser rey de Siria.
14Y él se partió de Eliseo, y vino á su señor, el cual le dijo: ¿Qué te ha dicho Eliseo? Y él respondió: Díjome que seguramente vivirás.
15El día siguiente tomó un paño basto, y metiólo en agua, y tendiólo sobre el rostro de Ben-adad, y murió: y reinó Hazael en su lugar.
16En el quinto año de Joram hijo de Achâb rey de Israel, y siendo Josaphat rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Joram hijo de Josaphat rey de Judá.
17De treinta y dos años era cuando comenzó á reinar, y ocho años reinó en Jerusalem.
18Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Achâb, porque una hija de Achâb fué su mujer; é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
19Con todo eso, Jehová no quiso cortar á Judá, por amor de David su siervo, como le había prometido darle lámpara de sus hijos perpetuamente.
20En su tiempo se rebeló Edom de debajo de la mano de Judá, y pusieron rey sobre sí.
21Joram por tanto pasó á Seir, y todos sus carros con él: y levantándose de noche hirió á los Idumeos, los cuales le habían cercado, y á los capitanes de los carros: y el pueblo huyó á sus estancias.
22Sustrájose no obstante Edom de bajo la mano de Judá, hasta hoy. Rebelóse además Libna en el mismo tiempo.
23Lo demás de los hechos de Joram, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
24Y durmió Joram con sus padres, y fué sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David: y reinó en lugar suyo Ochôzías, su hijo.
25En el año doce de Joram hijo de Achâb rey de Israel, comenzó á reinar Ochôzías hijo de Joram rey de Judá.
26De veintidós años era Ochôzías cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó un año en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Athalía hija de Omri rey de Israel.
27Y anduvo en el camino de la casa de Achâb, é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como la casa de Achâb: porque era yerno de la casa de Achâb.
28Y fué á la guerra con Joram hijo de Achâb á Ramoth de Galaad, contra Hazael rey de Siria; y los Siros hirieron á Joram.
29Y el rey Joram se volvió á Jezreel, para curarse de las heridas que los Siros le hicieron delante de Ramoth, cuando peleó contra Hazael rey de Siria. Y descendió Ochôzías hijo de Joram rey de Judá, á visitar á Joram hijo de Achâb en Jezreel, porque estaba enfermo.

1Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.
2And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
3And it came to pass at the seven years’ end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land.
4And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.
5And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
6And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
7And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
8And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
9So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben-hadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
10And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the LORD hath shewed me that he shall surely die.
11And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.
12And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.
13And Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria.
14So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surely recover.
15And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
16And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.
17Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
18And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of the LORD.
19Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David his servant’s sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children.
20In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
21So Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents.
22Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
23And the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
24And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
25In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.
26Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
27And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.
28And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramoth-gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.
29And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

1Now Elisha had spoken to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise, and go, you and your household, and stay for a while wherever you can; for the LORD has called for a famine. It will also come on the land for seven years.”
2The woman arose, and did according to the man of God’s word. She went with her household, and lived in the land of the Philistines for seven years.
3At the end of seven years, the woman returned from the land of the Philistines. Then she went out to beg the king for her house and for her land.
4Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”
5As he was telling the king how he had restored to life him who was dead, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life begged the king for her house and for her land. Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.”
6When the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed to her a certain officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.”
7Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick. He was told, “The man of God has come here.”
8The king said to Hazael, “Take a present in your hand, and go meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD by him, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”
9So Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him and said, “Your son Benhadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”
10Elisha said to him, “Go, tell him, ‘You will surely recover;’ however the LORD has shown me that he will surely die.”
11He settled his gaze steadfastly on him, until he was ashamed. Then the man of God wept.
12Hazael said, “Why do you weep, my lord?” He answered, “Because I know the evil that you will do to the children of Israel. You will set their strongholds on fire, and you will kill their young men with the sword, and will dash their little ones in pieces, and rip up their pregnant women.”
13Hazael said, “But what is your servant, who is but a dog, that he could do this great thing?” Elisha answered, “The LORD has shown me that you will be king over Syria.”
14Then he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” He answered, “He told me that you would surely recover.”
15On the next day, he took a thick cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it on the king’s face, so that he died. Then Hazael reigned in his place.
16In the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being king of Judah then, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.
