32Or, Elisée était assis en sa demeure, et les anciens étaient assis auprès de lui. Et le roi avait envoyé contre lui un homme ; avant que celui-ci arrivât, le prophète dit aux anciens : Ne savez-vous pas que le fils du meurtre a envoyé prendre ma tête ? Voyez, quand son messager sera arrivé ; fermez la porte et retenez-le en dedans ; n'entendez-vous point derrière lui le bruit des pas de son maître ?

32Estaba á la sazón Eliseo sentado en su casa, y con él estaban sentados los ancianos: y el rey envió á él un hombre. Mas antes que el mensajero viniese á él, dijo él á los ancianos: ¿No habéis visto cómo este hijo del homicida me envía á quitar la cabeza? Mirad pues, y cuando viniere el mensajero, cerrad la puerta, é impedidle la entrada: ¿no viene tras él el ruido de los pies de su amo?

32But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him?

32But Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. Then the king sent a man from before him; but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, “Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? Behold, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold the door shut against him. Isn’t the sound of his master’s feet behind him?”
