35Das Silber und das Gold lieferte Jojakim dem Pharao ab, mußte jedoch seinem Lande eine besondere Steuer auferlegen, um das Geld nach der Forderung des Pharaos zahlen zu können: je nachdem ein jeder abgeschätzt worden war, trieb er das Silber und das Gold von der Bevölkerung des Landes ein, um es dann dem Pharao Necho zu übergeben.

35And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of every one according to his taxation, to give it unto Pharaoh-nechoh.
