Nova Bíblia Viva
1Quando Acaz estava no décimo segundo ano do seu reinado em Judá, Oseias, filho de Elá, começou a reinar em Israel, na cidade de Samaria. Ele reinou por nove anos.
2Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor — porém não foi tão mau como os demais reis de Israel.
3Salmaneser, rei da Assíria, atacou e derrotou o rei Oseias, de modo que Israel teve de pagar pesados impostos anuais à Assíria.
4Porém, o rei da Assíria descobriu que Oséias estava armando uma traição contra ele, porque havia mandado um mensageiro a Sô, rei do Egito, pedindo que viesse ajudá-lo a livrar-se do poder da Assíria. Além disso, Oseias se recusava a pagar o imposto anual à Assíria. Por isso o rei assírio mandou colocá-lo na prisão.
5Então, durante três anos, a terra de Israel ficou cheia de soldados assírios que cercavam Samaria, a capital de Israel.
6Finalmente, no nono ano do reinado de Oseias, a cidade de Samaria caiu em poder dos assírios, e o povo de Israel foi levado como escravo para a Assíria. Eles foram morar em colônias na cidade de Hala e ao longo das margens do rio Habor, em Gozã, entre as cidades dos medos.
7Essa desgraça caiu sobre a nação porque os israelitas haviam pecado contra o Senhor, o seu Deus, que os havia tirado do Egito e livrado do faraó, rei do Egito. Eles adoraram outros deuses
8e adotaram os maus costumes das nações que o Senhor havia expulsado de diante deles; seguiram também os costumes que os reis de Israel haviam adotado.
9O povo de Israel também havia praticado o mal em segredo contra o Senhor, o seu Deus. Eles haviam construído altares aos outros deuses em todas as suas cidades, desde a menor vila até a maior cidade.
10Ergueram postes-ídolos no alto de cada monte e debaixo de toda grande árvore.
11Além disso, haviam queimado incenso aos deuses das muitas nações que o Senhor havia expulsado da terra quando Israel entrou. Visto como o povo de Israel praticou muitos atos maus, isso havia provocado a ira do Senhor.
12Na verdade, eles adoravam imagens, apesar dos avisos repetidos e muito claros do Senhor.
13O Senhor tinha repetidamente mandado profetas e videntes para advertir Israel e Judá que voltassem de seus maus caminhos: “Abandonem os seus maus caminhos, obedeçam aos meus mandamentos e ordenanças e a toda a Lei que entreguei a vocês por meio dos seus antepassados, os meus servos, os profetas”.
14Mas os israelitas não quiseram atender. Eles eram teimosos e desobedientes como os seus antepassados e não quiseram confiar no Senhor, o seu Deus.
15Rejeitaram as leis de Deus e a aliança que o Senhor tinha feito com os seus antepassados, e fizeram pouco caso dos avisos divinos. Na loucura em que viviam, adoravam deuses falsos, apesar dos severos avisos de Deus para que não imitassem os pagãos.
16Desafiaram todos os mandamentos do Senhor, o seu Deus, e fizeram dois bezerros de ouro fundido. Também fizeram um poste-ídolo, fabricaram imagens vergonhosas e detestáveis e adoraram Baal e as estrelas.
17Chegaram a ponto de queimar seus próprios filhos e filhas como sacrifício nos altares do deus Moloque, consultaram os adivinhos, fizeram uso de magia e feitiçaria e se venderam à prática do mal. Por isso, o Senhor ficou irado com eles.
18O Senhor ficou indignado com Israel e os expulsou da sua presença, e por fim restou somente a tribo de Judá.
19Mas também Judá não quis obedecer aos mandamentos do Senhor, o seu Deus; também eles andaram nos mesmos caminhos maus em que Israel havia andado.
20Por esse motivo, o Senhor rejeitou todos os filhos de Israel; ele castigou o povo entregando-o nas mãos dos seus inimigos, até que foram expulsos da sua presença.
21Quando Israel se afastou do reino de Davi, escolheu Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, como seu rei. Jeroboão induziu Israel a se desviar do Senhor, fazendo o povo cometer grande pecado;
22e o povo de Israel nunca deixou de praticar os atos maus que Jeroboão levou o povo a cometer,
23até que o Senhor, finalmente, os afastou da sua presença, conforme todos os avisos dados através dos seus servos, os profetas. Assim, o povo de Israel foi transportado para a Assíria, onde permanece até o dia de hoje.
24O rei da Assíria trouxe gente da Babilônia, de Cuta, de Ava, de Hamate e de Sefarvaim, e eles ficaram morando em Samaria e nas cidades vizinhas, em lugar do povo de Israel.
25Mas já que esses habitantes assírios não adoraram o Senhor assim que chegaram pela primeira vez, o Senhor mandou leões para o meio deles, e os leões mataram alguns dos moradores dali.
26Então eles mandaram uma mensagem ao rei da Assíria: “Nós que viemos morar aqui em Israel não conhecemos as leis do Deus da terra, e ele mandou leões para o nosso meio a fim de nos destruir, porque não adoramos esse Deus”.
27Então o rei da Assíria deu a seguinte ordem: “Façam com que um dos sacerdotes que foi levado de Samaria volte para Israel para ensinar aos novos moradores as leis do deus da terra”.
28Assim um dos sacerdotes voltou a Betel e ensinava ao povo como adorar ao Senhor.
29Porém, esses estrangeiros também adoravam os seus próprios deuses nas cidades. Eles colocaram seus deuses nos altares idólatras que o povo de Samaria havia deixado nas colinas de suas cidades.
30Os que vieram da Babilônia adoravam as imagens do seu deus Sucote-Benote; os que vieram de Cuta adoravam o seu deus Nergal, e os homens de Hamate adoravam Asima.
31Os deuses Nibaz e Tartaque eram adorados pelo povo de Ava, e as pessoas que vieram de Sefarvaim queimavam até seus próprios filhos nos altares dos seus deuses Adrameleque e Anameleque.
32Eles até adoravam ao Senhor, mas também nomeavam dentre eles os sacerdotes que deviam oferecer sacrifícios por eles nos altares do alto das colinas.
33Assim eles prestavam culto ao Senhor, mas também continuavam a adotar os seus antigos costumes dos países de onde foram trazidos.
34E até hoje continuam assim: seguem suas antigas práticas em vez de adorar verdadeiramente o Senhor e obedecer às leis que ele deu aos filhos de Jacó, cujo nome mais tarde foi mudado para Israel.
35Porque o Senhor tinha feito uma aliança com eles e, de acordo com essa aliança, ele ordenou: “Não adorem deuses falsos, nem se inclinem diante deles, não os sirvam nem ofereçam sacrifícios a eles.
36Mas adorem somente ao Senhor, que os tirou da terra do Egito, com maravilhosos milagres e poder. Diante dele vocês devem se inclinar e oferecer sacrifícios.
37Os filhos, netos, bisnetos e todos os que pertencem à família de Jacó devem obedecer a todas as leis de Deus; e nunca adorar outros deuses.
38Não esqueçam da aliança que fiz com vocês, de nunca adorarem outros deuses.
39Vocês devem adorar somente o Senhor, o seu Deus; ele os salvará de todos os seus inimigos”.
40Porém, os israelitas não quiseram atender e continuaram a adorar outros deuses.
41Esses homens que vieram da Babilônia adoravam o Senhor, mas também adoravam os seus ídolos. E os seus descendentes até o dia de hoje fazem a mesma coisa.

1EN el año duodécimo de Achâz rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Oseas hijo de Ela en Samaria sobre Israel; y reinó nueve años.
2E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, aunque no como los reyes de Israel que antes de él habían sido.
3Contra éste subió Salmanasar rey de los Asirios; y Oseas fué hecho su siervo, y pagábale tributo.
4Mas el rey de Asiria halló que Oseas hacía conjuración: porque había enviado embajadores á So, rey de Egipto, y no pagaba tributo al rey de Asiria, como cada año: por lo que el rey de Asiria le detuvo, y le aprisionó en la casa de la cárcel.
5Y el rey de Asiria partió contra todo el país, y subió contra Samaria, y estuvo sobre ella tres años.
6En el año nueve de Oseas tomó el rey de Asiria á Samaria, y trasportó á Israel á Asiria, y púsolos en Hala, y en Habor, junto al río de Gozán, y en las ciudades de los Medos.
7Porque como los hijos de Israel pecasen contra Jehová su Dios, que los sacó de tierra de Egipto de bajo la mano de Faraón rey de Egipto, y temiesen á dioses ajenos,
8Y anduviesen en los estatutos de las gentes que Jehová había lanzado delante de los hijos de Israel, y en los de los reyes de Israel, que hicieron;
9Y como los hijos de Israel paliasen cosas no rectas contra Jehová su Dios, edificándose altos en todas sus ciudades, desde las torres de las atalayas hasta las ciudades fuertes,
10Y se levantasen estatuas y bosques en todo collado alto, y debajo de todo árbol umbroso,
11Y quemasen allí perfumes en todos los altos, á la manera de las gentes que había Jehová traspuesto delante de ellos, é hiciesen cosas muy malas para provocar á ira á Jehová,
12Pues servían á los ídolos, de los cuales Jehová les había dicho: Vosotros no habéis de hacer esto;
13Jehová protestaba entonces contra Israel y contra Judá, por mano de todos los profetas, y de todos los videntes, diciendo: Volveos de vuestros malos caminos, y guardad mis mandamientos y mis ordenanzas, conforme á todas las leyes que yo prescribí á vuestros padres, y que os he enviado por mano de mis siervos los profetas.
14Mas ellos no obedecieron, antes endurecieron su cerviz, como la cerviz de sus padres, los cuales no creyeron en Jehová su Dios.
15Y desecharon sus estatutos, y su pacto que él había concertado con sus padres, y sus testimonios que él había protestado contra ellos; y siguieron la vanidad, y se hicieron vanos, y fueron en pos de las gentes que estaban alrededor de ellos, de las cuales les había Jehová mandado que no hiciesen á la manera de ellas:
16Y dejaron todos los mandamientos de Jehová su Dios, é hiciéronse vaciadizos dos becerros, y también bosques, y adoraron á todo el ejército del cielo, y sirvieron á Baal:
17E hicieron pasar á sus hijos y á sus hijas por fuego; y diéronse á adivinaciones y agüeros, y entregáronse á hacer lo malo en ojos de Jehová, provocándole á ira.
18Jehová por tanto se airó en gran manera contra Israel, y quitólos de delante de su rostro; que no quedó sino sólo la tribu de Judá.
19Mas ni aun Judá guardó los mandamientos de Jehová su Dios; antes anduvieron en los estatutos de Israel, los cuales habían ellos hecho.
20Y desechó Jehová toda la simiente de Israel, y afligiólos, y entrególos en manos de saqueadores, hasta echarlos de su presencia.
21Porque cortó á Israel de la casa de David, y ellos se hicieron rey á Jeroboam hijo de Nabat; y Jeroboam rempujó á Israel de en pos de Jehová, é hízoles cometer gran pecado.
22Y los hijos de Israel anduvieron en todos los pecados de Jeroboam que él hizo, sin apartarse de ellos;
23Hasta tanto que Jehová quitó á Israel de delante de su rostro, como lo había él dicho por mano de todos los profetas sus siervos: é Israel fué trasportado de su tierra á Asiria, hasta hoy.
24Y trajo el rey de Asiria gente de Babilonia, y de Cutha, y de Ava, y de Hamath, y de Sepharvaim, y púsolos en las ciudades de Samaria, en lugar de los hijos de Israel; y poseyeron á Samaria, y habitaron en sus ciudades.
25Y aconteció al principio, cuando comenzaron á habitar allí, que no temiendo ellos á Jehová, envió Jehová contra ellos leones que los mataban.
26Entonces dijeron ellos al rey de Asiria: Las gentes que tú traspasaste y pusiste en las ciudades de Samaria, no saben la costumbre del Dios de aquella tierra, y él ha echado leones en ellos, y he aquí los matan, porque no saben la costumbre del Dios de la tierra.
27Y el rey de Asiria mandó, diciendo: Llevad allí á alguno de los sacerdotes que trajisteis de allá, y vayan y habiten allí, y enséñenles la costumbre del Dios del país.
28Y vino uno de los sacerdotes que habían trasportado de Samaria, y habitó en Beth-el, y enseñóles cómo habían de temer á Jehová.
29Mas cada nación se hizo sus dioses, y pusiéronlos en los templos de los altos que habían hecho los de Samaria; cada nación en su ciudad donde habitaba.
30Los de Babilonia hicieron á Succoth-benoth, y los de Cutha hicieron á Nergal, y los de Hamath hicieron á Asima;
31Los Heveos hicieron á Nibhaz y á Tharthac; y los de Sepharvaim quemaban sus hijos al fuego á Adra-melech y á Anamelech, dioses de Sepharvaim.
32Y temían á Jehová; é hicieron del pueblo bajo sacerdotes de los altos, quienes sacrificaban para ellos en los templos de los altos.
33Temían á Jehová, y honraban á sus dioses, según la costumbre de las gentes de donde habían sido trasladados.
34Hasta hoy hacen como primero; que ni temen á Jehová, ni guardan sus estatutos, ni sus ordenanzas, ni hacen según la ley y los mandamientos que prescribió Jehová á los hijos de Jacob, al cual puso el nombre de Israel;
35Con los cuales había Jehová hecho pacto, y les mandó, diciendo: No temeréis á otros dioses, ni los adoraréis, ni les serviréis, ni les sacrificaréis:
36Mas á Jehová, que os sacó de tierra de Egipto con grande poder y brazo extendido, á éste temeréis, y á éste adoraréis, y á éste haréis sacrificio.
37Los estatutos y derechos y ley y mandamientos que os dió por escrito, cuidaréis siempre de ponerlos por obra, y no temeréis dioses ajenos.
38Y no olvidaréis el pacto que hice con vosotros; ni temeréis dioses ajenos:
39Mas temed á Jehová vuestro Dios, y él os librará de mano de todos vuestros enemigos.
40Empero ellos no escucharon; antes hicieron según su costumbre antigua.
41Así temieron á Jehová aquellas gentes, y juntamente sirvieron á sus ídolos: y también sus hijos y sus nietos, según que hicieron sus padres, así hacen hasta hoy.

1In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.
2And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.
3Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.
4And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
5Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
6In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
7For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
8And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
9And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
10And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
11And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:
12For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.
13Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
14Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
15And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
16And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
17And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
18Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
19Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
20And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
21For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.
22For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
23Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.
24And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
25And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.
26Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.
27Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.
28Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Beth-el, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.
29Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.
30And the men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
31And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
32So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
33They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.
34Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
35With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:
36But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
37And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.
38And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.
39But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
40Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.
41So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.

27Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, “Carry there one of the priests whom you brought from there; and let him go and dwell there, and let him teach them the law of the god of the land.”
28So one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and lived in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.
29However every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities in which they lived.
30The men of Babylon made Succoth Benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
31and the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burned their children in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
32So they feared the LORD, and also made from among themselves priests of the high places for themselves, who sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
33They feared the LORD, and also served their own gods, after the ways of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.
34To this day they do what they did before. They don’t fear the LORD, and they do not follow the statutes, or the ordinances, or the law, or the commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
35with whom the LORD had made a covenant and commanded them, saying, “You shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them;
36but you shall fear the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, and you shall bow yourselves to him, and you shall sacrifice to him.
37The statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do forever more. You shall not fear other gods.
38You shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you. You shall not fear other gods.
39But you shall fear the LORD your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
40However they didn’t listen, but they did what they did before.
41So these nations feared the LORD, and also served their engraved images. Their children did likewise, and so did their children’s children. They do as their fathers did to this day.
