1Le peuple prit Joachaz, fils de Josias, et il le sacra, et il le fit roi de Jérusalem, à la place de son père.
2Joachaz avait vingt-trois ans quand il monta sur le trône, et il régna trois mois à Jérusalem ; Sa mère se nommait Amital, fille de Jérémie de Lobna, Et il fit le mal devant le Seigneur ; il suivit tous les mauvais exemples de ses pères ; Et le Pharaon Néchao le chargea de chaînes à Déblatha, en la terre d'Emath, pour qu'il ne régnât pas à Jérusalem.
3Il l'emmena en Égypte, et il frappa la terre d'une contribution de cent talents d'argent et d'un talent d'or.
4Et le Pharaon Néchao fit roi de Juda, à la place de Josias son père, Éliacim, fils de Josias, et il changea son nom en celui de Joacim, et il prit son frère Joachaz, et il l'emmena en Égypte, où il mourut. Mais il avait donné l'argent et l'or au Pharaon ; en ce temps-là, on commença sur la terre à lever une taxe réglée par le Pharaon ; chacun, autant qu'il le put, emprunta l'argent et l'or du peuplade la terre, pour le donner au Pharaon Néchao.
5Joacim avait vingt-cinq ans lorsqu'il monta sur le trône, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem ; sa mère s'appelait Zéchora, fille de Néria de Rhama ; et il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, suivant tous les mauvais exemples de ses pères. Sous son règne, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, vint en la terre, et Joacim lui fut asservi trois ans, et il se révolta contre lui. Et le Seigneur envoya contre son peuple des Chaldéens, des maraudeurs, tant syriens que moabites, ou fils d'Ammon ou samaritains, qui ensuite s'éloignèrent pour confirmer la parole que le Seigneur avait dite par la voix de ses serviteurs les prophètes. Mais la colère du Seigneur persistait contre Juda, qu'il voulait expulser de devant sa face, à cause des péchés que Manassé avait commis, Et du sang innocent qu'avait répandu Joacim, car il en avait rempli Jérusalem ; toutefois le Seigneur n'avait pas dessein de les exterminer tout à fait.
6Nabuchodonosor marcha donc contre Joacim, le chargea de chaînes d'airain, et l'emmena à Babylone.
7Alors, il emporta une part des vaisseaux du temple du Seigneur, et il les mit dans le temple de Babylone.
8Quant au reste des faits et gestes de Joacim, n'est-il pas écrit au livre des Récits des rois de Juda ? Et Joacim s'endormit avec ses pères, et on l'ensevelit à Gonaza avec ses pères, et Jéchonias, son fils, fut proclamé roi à sa place.
9Jéchonias avait huit ans lorsqu'il monta sur le trône, et il régna trois mois et dix jours à Jérusalem, et il fit le mal devant le Seigneur.
10Et pendant le cours de l'année, le roi Nabuchodonosor envoya des troupes, et on l'emmena à Babylone avec tous les vases précieux du temple du Seigneur, et l'on proclama roi de Juda et de Jérusalem, Sédécias, frère de son père.
11Sédécias avait vingt et un ans lorsqu'il monta sur le trône, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem.
12Et il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, et il ne rentra en lui-même, ni devant le prophète Jérémie, ni à la parole du Seigneur.
13Il se révolta contre le roi Nabuchodonosor, après qu'au nom du Seigneur, le prophète l'eût adjuré de n'en rien faire ; il endurcit son cœur et il se roidit le cou, de sorte qu'il ne retourna pas au Seigneur Dieu d'Israël.
14Et les premiers de Juda, et les prêtres et le peuple de la contrée, multiplièrent les offenses en commettant les abominations des peuples étrangers, et ils souillèrent le temple du Seigneur à Jérusalem.
15Et le Seigneur Dieu de leurs pères les avertit en leur envoyant ses prophètes, eu leur envoyant à chaque aurore des messagers, pour épargner son peuple et le lieu saint.
16Mais ils raillaient ses envoyés, ils méprisaient ses discours, ils se moquaient de ses prophètes, jusqu'à ce qu'enfin la colère du Seigneur s'enflammât contre le peuple et fût implacable.
17Alors, le Seigneur amena contre eux le roi des Chaldéens, qui tua leurs jeunes fils par le glaive dans le temple et le sanctuaire ; il n'épargna pas Sédécias, et n'eut point pitié des vierges de Jérusalem ; les vainqueurs enlevèrent les anciens ; le Seigneur leur avait livré toutes choses.
18Et tous les vaisseaux du temple de Dieu, grands et petits, et tous les trésors, tant du temple que du palais et des maisons des grands, furent transportés à Babylone.
19Et Nabuchodonosor brûla le temple du Seigneur ; puis, il démolit les remparts de Jérusalem ; il livra aux flammes tous ses palais, il détruisit tous les vases précieux.
20Et il transporta le reste des habitants à Babylone, où ils furent esclaves du roi ou de ses fils, jusqu'à l'établissement de l'empire des Mèdes ;
21Afin que la parole du Seigneur qu'avait fait connaître la bouche de Jérémie, le prophète, fût accomplie, et que la terre jouît de ses sabbats, et observât le sabbat tous les jours de sa désolation, jusqu'à l'achèvement des soixante-dix années.
22La première année de la domination de Cyrus, roi des Perses, après l'accomplissement de la parole du Seigneur, qu'avait dite la bouche de Jérémie, le Seigneur excita l'esprit de Cyrus, roi des Perses, et il envoya dans tout le royaume une proclamation par écrit, disant :
23Voici ce que dit, à tous les royaumes de la terre, Cyrus, roi des Perses : Le Seigneur Dieu du ciel m'a donné le pouvoir, et il m'a prescrit de rebâtir son temple à Jérusalem, en Juda. Qui, parmi vous tous, est de son peuple ? Qu'il parte ; son Dieu sera avec lui.

1ENTONCES el pueblo de la tierra tomó á Joachâz hijo de Josías, é hiciéronle rey en lugar de su padre en Jerusalem.
2De veinte y tres años era Joachâz cuando comenzó á reinar, y tres meses reinó en Jerusalem.
3Y el rey de Egipto lo quitó de Jerusalem, y condenó la tierra en cien talentos de plata y uno de oro.
4Y constituyó el rey de Egipto á su hermano Eliacim por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalem, y mudóle el nombre en Joacim; y á Joachâz su hermano tomó Nechâo, y llevólo á Egipto.
5Cuando comenzó á reinar Joacim era de veinte y cinco años, y reinó once años en Jerusalem: é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová su Dios.
6Y subió contra él Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, y atado con cadenas lo llevó á Babilonia.
7También llevó Nabucodonosor á Babilonia de los vasos de la casa de Jehová, y púsolos en su templo en Babilonia.
8Lo demás de los hechos de Joacim, y las abominaciones que hizo, y lo que en él se halló, he aquí está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá: y reinó en su lugar Joachîn su hijo.
9De ocho años era Joachîn cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó tres meses y diez días en Jerusalem: é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
10A la vuelta del año el rey Nabucodonosor envió, é hízolo llevar á Babilonia juntamente con los vasos preciosos de la casa de Jehová; y constituyó á Sedecías su hermano por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalem.
11De veinte y un años era Sedecías cuando comenzó á reinar, y once años reinó en Jerusalem.
12E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová su Dios, y no se humilló delante de Jeremías profeta, que le hablaba de parte de Jehová.
13Rebelóse asimismo contra Nabucodonosor, al cual había jurado por Dios; y endureció su cerviz, y obstinó su corazón, para no volverse á Jehová el Dios de Israel.
14Y también todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y el pueblo, aumentaron la prevaricación, siguiendo todas las abominaciones de las gentes, y contaminando la casa de Jehová, la cual él había santificado en Jerusalem.
15Y Jehová el Dios de sus padres envió á ellos por mano de sus mensajeros, levantándose de mañana y enviando: porque él tenía misericordia de su pueblo, y de su habitación.
16Mas ellos hacían escarnio de los mensajeros de Dios, y menospreciaban sus palabras, burlándose de sus profetas, hasta que subió el furor de Jehová contra su pueblo, y que no hubo remedio.
17Por lo cual trajo contra ellos al rey de los Caldeos, que mató á cuchillo sus mancebos en la casa de su santuario, sin perdonar joven, ni doncella, ni viejo, ni decrépito; todos los entregó en sus manos.
18Asimismo todos los vasos de la casa de Dios, grandes y chicos, los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros del rey y de sus príncipes, todo lo llevó á Babilonia.
19Y quemaron la casa de Dios, y rompieron el muro de Jerusalem, y consumieron al fuego todos sus palacios, y destruyeron todos sus vasos deseables.
20Los que quedaron del cuchillo, pasáronlos á Babilonia; y fueron siervos de él y de sus hijos, hasta que vino el reino de los Persas;
21Para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová por la boca de Jeremías, hasta que la tierra hubo gozado sus sábados: porque todo el tiempo de su asolamiento reposó, hasta que los setenta años fueron cumplidos.
22Mas al primer año de Ciro rey de los Persas, para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová por boca de Jeremías, Jehová excitó el espíritu de Ciro rey de los Persas, el cual hizo pasar pregón por todo su reino, y también por escrito, diciendo:
23Así dice Ciro rey de los Persas: Jehová, el Dios de los cielos, me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra; y él me ha encargado que le edifique casa en Jerusalem, que es en Judá. ¿Quién de vosotros hay de todo su pueblo? Jehová su Dios sea con él, y suba.

1Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s stead in Jerusalem.
2Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
3And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
4And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
5Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.
6Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
7Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.
8Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
9Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
10And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
11Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.
12And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.
13And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.
14Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
15And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
16But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
17Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.
18And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.
19And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.
20And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
21To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
22Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
23Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.
