3No oitavo ano de seu reinado, quando ainda era jovem, começou a buscar o Deus de Davi, seu ancestral. No duodécimo ano, começou a purificar Judá e Jerusalém dos altares, dos postes-ídolos, das imagens de escultura e de metal fundido.
