18Mas Jeoás, rei de Israel, enviou mensageiros de volta a Amazias, rei de Judá, dizendo: "O espinheiro que estava no Líbano mandou mensagem ao cedro no Líbano, dizendo: 'Dá tua filha a meu filho como esposa', mas uma fera selvagem no Líbano passou e pisoteou o espinheiro.

18Entonces Joas rey de Israel envió á decir á Amasías rey de Judá: El cardo que estaba en el Líbano, envió al cedro que estaba en el Líbano, diciendo: Da tu hija á mi hijo por mujer. Y he aquí que las bestias fieras que estaban en el Líbano, pasaron, y hollaron el cardo.

18And Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.

18Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as his wife. Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by and trampled down the thistle.
