16Als er aber so zu ihm redete, entgegnete ihm Amazja: »Haben wir dich etwa zum Ratgeber des Königs bestellt? Unterlaß das! Warum willst du geschlagen werden?« Da hörte der Prophet auf, sagte aber noch: »Ich merke wohl, daß Gott dein Verderben beschlossen hat, weil du so gehandelt und auf meinen Rat nicht hast hören wollen!«

16Y hablándole el profeta estas cosas, él le respondió: ¿Hante puesto á ti por consejero del rey? Déjate de eso: ¿por qué quieres que te maten? Y al cesar, el profeta dijo luego: Yo sé que Dios ha acordado destruirte, porque has hecho esto, y no obedeciste á mi consejo.

16And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the king’s counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.
World English Bible
16As he talked with him, the king said to him, “Have we made you one of the king’s counselors? Stop! Why should you be struck down?” Then the prophet stopped, and said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”
