1UND Josaphat legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward bei seinen Vätern in der Davidsstadt begraben, und sein Sohn Joram wurde König an seiner Statt.
2Derselbe hatte Brüder, nämlich die Söhne Josaphats Asarja, Jehiel, Sacharja, Usia, Michael und Sephatja; diese alle waren Söhne Josaphats, des Königs von Israel. (1) "Israel" hier und vermutlich auch V. 4 Name für "Juda".
3Und ihr Vater gab ihnen grosse Geschenke an Silber und Gold und Kleinodien, dazu noch befestigte Städte in Juda; das Königtum aber gab er Joram, weil dieser der Erstgeborne war.
4Als nun Joram die Herrschaft über das Reich seines Vaters angetreten und sich darin gefestigt hatte, tötete er alle seine Brüder und ausserdem einige von den obersten Beamten Israels mit dem Schwert.
532 Jahre alt war Joram, als er König wurde, und acht Jahre regierte er in Jerusalem.
6Er wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige von Israel, wie das Haus Ahabs tat, denn die Tochter Ahabs war seine Gemahlin; und er tat, was dem Herrn missfiel.
7Aber der Herr wollte das Haus Davids nicht verderben um des Bundes willen, den er mit David geschlossen, und wie er ihm ja verheissen hatte, dass er ihm immerdar eine Leuchte vor seinem Angesichte geben wolle. (a) 1Kön 11:36
8Zu seiner Zeit machten sich die Edomiter von der Herrschaft Judas los und setzten einen König über sich.
9Da zog Joram mit seinen Fürsten und allen Streitwagen hinüber; und er brach bei Nacht auf und schlug sich durch die Edomiter, die ihn einschlossen, durch und mit ihm die Obersten über die Streitwagen.
10So machten sich die Edomiter von der Herrschaft Judas los bis auf den heutigen Tag. Damals fiel auch Libna ab und machte sich zu jener Zeit von seiner Herrschaft los, weil er den Herrn, den Gott seiner Väter, verlassen hatte.
11Auch er errichtete Höhenheiligtümer in den Städten Judas, und er verleitete die Bewohner Jerusalems zur Abgötterei und brachte Juda auf Abwege.
12Da kam vom Propheten Elia ein Brief an ihn; der lautete: So spricht der Herr, der Gott deines Ahnherrn David: Weil du nicht gewandelt bist in den Wegen deines Vaters Josaphat und in den Wegen Asas, des Königs von Juda,
13sondern auf dem Wege der Könige Israels, und hast Juda und die Bewohner Jerusalems zur Abgötterei verleitet, gleichwie das Haus Ahabs die Leute zur Abgötterei verleitete, und weil du zudem deine Brüder, das ganze Haus deines Vaters, getötet hast, sie, die doch besser waren als du,
14darum wird der Herr eine grosse Plage über dein Volk bringen und ebenso über deine Söhne und deine Frauen und alle deine Habe.
15Und du selbst wirst von schweren Leiden heimgesucht werden, von einer Krankheit der Eingeweide, bis dass über Jahr und Tag infolge des Leidens deine Eingeweide austreten.
16Und der Herr erweckte wider Joram den Zorn der Philister und der Araber, die neben den Kuschiten wohnen,
17und sie zogen heran wider Juda, fielen in das Land ein und führten alle Habe hinweg, die sich im Königspalast fand, dazu auch seine Söhne und Frauen, und es blieb ihm kein Sohn übrig ausser Joahas, der jüngste seiner Söhne. (1) d.i. Ahasja.
18Nach all dem schlug ihn der Herr mit einer unheilbaren Krankheit der Eingeweide.
19Und nach Jahr und Tag, nach Verfluss von zwei Jahren, traten ihm infolge der Krankheit die Eingeweide aus, sodass er unter furchtbaren Schmerzen starb. Und seine Leute zündeten ihm kein Feuer an, wie man zu Ehren seiner Väter getan hatte. (a) 2Ch 16:14
2032 Jahre alt war er, als er König wurde, und acht Jahre regierte er zu Jerusalem. So ging er dahin, von niemand bedauert. Sie begruben ihn in der Davidsstadt, doch nicht in den Gräbern der Könige.

1Y DURMIÓ Josaphat con sus padres, y sepultáronlo con sus padres en la ciudad de David. Y reinó en su lugar Joram su hijo.
2Este tuvo hermanos, hijos de Josaphat, á Azarías, Jehiel, Zachârías, Azarías, Michâel, y Sephatías. Todos estos fueron hijos de Josaphat rey de Israel.
3Y su padre les había dado muchos dones de oro y de plata, y cosas preciosas, y ciudades fuertes en Judá; mas había dado el reino á Joram, porque él era el primogénito.
4Fué pues elevado Joram al reino de su padre; y luego que se hizo fuerte, mató á cuchillo á todos sus hermanos, y asimismo algunos de los príncipes de Israel.
5Cuando comenzó á reinar era de treinta y dos años, y reinó ocho años en Jerusalem.
6Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Achâb; porque tenía por mujer la hija de Achâb, é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
7Mas Jehová no quiso destruir la casa de David, á causa de la alianza que con David había hecho, y porque le había dicho que le daría lámpara á él y á sus hijos perpetuamente.
8En los días de éste se rebeló la Idumea, para no estar bajo el poder de Judá, y pusieron rey sobre sí.
9Entonces pasó Joram con sus príncipes, y consigo todos sus carros; y levantóse de noche, é hirió á los Idumeos que le habían cercado, y á todos los comandantes de sus carros.
10Con todo eso Edom quedó rebelado, sin estar bajo la mano de Judá hasta hoy. También se rebeló en el mismo tiempo Libna para no estar bajo su mano; por cuanto él había dejado á Jehová el Dios de sus padres.
11Demás de esto hizo altos en los montes de Judá, é hizo que los moradores de Jerusalem fornicasen, y á ello impelió á Judá.
12Y viniéronle letras del profeta Elías, que decían: Jehová, el Dios de David tu padre, ha dicho así: Por cuanto no has andado en los caminos de Josaphat tu padre, ni en los caminos de Asa, rey de Judá,
13Antes has andado en el camino de los reyes de Israel, y has hecho que fornicase Judá, y los moradores de Jerusalem, como fornicó la casa de Achâb; y además has muerto á tus hermanos, á la familia de tu padre, los cuales eran mejores que tú:
14He aquí Jehová herirá tu pueblo de una grande plaga, y á tus hijos y á tus mujeres, y á toda tu hacienda;
15Y á ti con muchas enfermedades, con enfermedad de tus entrañas, hasta que las entrañas se te salgan á causa de la enfermedad de cada día.
16Entonces despertó Jehová contra Joram el espíritu de los Filisteos, y de los Arabes que estaban junto á los Etiopes;
17Y subieron contra Judá, é invadieron la tierra, y tomaron toda la hacienda que hallaron en la casa del rey, y á sus hijos, y á sus mujeres; que no le quedó hijo, sino Joachâz el menor de sus hijos.
18Después de todo esto Jehová lo hirió en las entrañas de una enfermedad incurable.
19Y aconteció que, pasando un día tras otro, al fin, al cabo de dos años, las entrañas se le salieron con la enfermedad, muriendo así de enfermedad muy penosa. Y no le hizo quema su pueblo, como las había hecho á sus padres.
20Cuando comenzó á reinar era de treinta y dos años, y reinó en Jerusalem ocho años; y fuése sin ser deseado. Y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David, mas no en los sepulcros de los reyes.

1Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
2And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.
4Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
5Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD.
7Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
8In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king.
9Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.
10So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers.
11Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.
12And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father’s house, which were better than thyself:
14Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
15And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.
16Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
17And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.

13but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute like Ahab’s house did, and also have slain your brothers of your father’s house, who were better than yourself,
14behold, the LORD will strike your people with a great plague, including your children, your wives, and all your possessions;
15and you will have great sickness with a disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.’”
16The LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and of the Arabians who are beside the Ethiopians;
17and they came up against Judah, broke into it, and carried away all the possessions that were found in the king’s house, including his sons and his wives, so that there was no son left to him except Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18After all this the LORD struck him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
