1Da aber Joram aufkam über das Königreich seines Vaters und sein mächtig ward, erwürgete er seine Brüder alle mit dem Schwert, dazu auch etliche Oberste in Israel.
2Zweiunddreißig Jahre alt war Joram, da er König ward, und regierete acht Jahre zu Jerusalem.
3Und wandelte in dem Wege der Könige Israels, wie das Haus Ahab getan hatte, denn Ahabs Tochter war sein Weib; und tat, das dem HERRN übel gefiel.
4Aber der HERR wollte das Haus David nicht verderben um des Bundes willen, den er mit David gemacht hatte, und wie er geredet hatte, ihm eine Leuchte zu geben und seinen Kindern immerdar.
5Zu seiner Zeit fielen die Edomiter ab von Juda und machten über sich einen König.
6Denn Joram war hinübergezogen mit seinen Obersten, und alle Wagen mit ihm, und hatte sich des Nachts aufgemacht und die Edomiter um ihn her und die Obersten der Wagen geschlagen.
7Darum fielen die Edomiter ab von Juda bis auf diesen Tag. Zur selben Zeit fiel Libna auch von ihm ab. Denn er verließ den HERRN, seiner Väter Gott.
8Auch machte er Höhen auf den Bergen in Juda und machte die zu Jerusalem huren und verführete Juda.
9Es kam aber Schrift zu ihm von dem Propheten Elia, die lautete also: So spricht der HERR, der Gott deines Vaters David: Darum daß du nicht gewandelt hast in den Wegen deines Vaters Josaphat noch in den Wegen Assas, des Königs Judas,
10sondern wandelst in dem Wege der Könige Israels und machest, daß Juda und die zu Jerusalem huren nach der Hurerei des Hauses Ahab, und hast dazu deine Brüder deines Vaters Hauses erwürget, die besser waren denn du,
11siehe, so wird dich der HERR mit einer großen Plage schlagen an deinem Volk, an deinen Kindern, an deinen Weibern und an all deiner Habe.
12Du aber wirst viel Krankheit haben in deinem Eingeweide, bis daß dein Eingeweide vor Krankheit herausgehe von Tage zu Tage.
13Also erweckte der HERR wider Joram den Geist der Philister und Araber, die neben den Mohren liegen;
14und zogen herauf nach Juda und zerrissen sie und führeten weg alle Habe, die vorhanden war im Hause des Königs, dazu seine Söhne und seine Weiber, daß ihm kein Sohn überblieb, ohne Joahas, sein jüngster Sohn.
15Und nach dem allem plagte ihn der HERR in seinem Eingeweide mit solcher Krankheit, die nicht zu heilen war.
16Und da das währete von Tage zu Tage, als die Zeit zweier Jahre um war, ging sein Eingeweide von ihm mit seiner Krankheit, und er starb an bösen Krankheiten. Und sie machten nicht über ihm einen Brand, wie sie seinen Vätern getan hatten.
17Zweiunddreißig Jahre alt war er, da er König ward, und regierete acht Jahre zu Jerusalem und wandelte, daß nicht fein war. Und sie begruben ihn in der Stadt Davids, aber nicht unter der Könige Gräber.
18Und die zu Jerusalem machten zum König Ahasja, seinen jüngsten Sohn, an seiner Statt. Denn die Kriegsleute, die aus den Arabern mit dem Heer kamen, hatten die ersten alle erwürget; darum ward König Ahasja, der Sohn Jorams, des Königs Judas.
19Zweiundvierzig Jahre alt war Ahasja, da er König ward, und regierete ein Jahr zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Athalja, die Tochter Amris.
20Und er wandelte auch in den Wegen des Hauses Ahab; denn seine Mutter hielt ihn dazu, daß er gottlos war.

1Y DURMIÓ Josaphat con sus padres, y sepultáronlo con sus padres en la ciudad de David. Y reinó en su lugar Joram su hijo.
2Este tuvo hermanos, hijos de Josaphat, á Azarías, Jehiel, Zachârías, Azarías, Michâel, y Sephatías. Todos estos fueron hijos de Josaphat rey de Israel.
3Y su padre les había dado muchos dones de oro y de plata, y cosas preciosas, y ciudades fuertes en Judá; mas había dado el reino á Joram, porque él era el primogénito.
4Fué pues elevado Joram al reino de su padre; y luego que se hizo fuerte, mató á cuchillo á todos sus hermanos, y asimismo algunos de los príncipes de Israel.
5Cuando comenzó á reinar era de treinta y dos años, y reinó ocho años en Jerusalem.
6Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Achâb; porque tenía por mujer la hija de Achâb, é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
7Mas Jehová no quiso destruir la casa de David, á causa de la alianza que con David había hecho, y porque le había dicho que le daría lámpara á él y á sus hijos perpetuamente.
8En los días de éste se rebeló la Idumea, para no estar bajo el poder de Judá, y pusieron rey sobre sí.
9Entonces pasó Joram con sus príncipes, y consigo todos sus carros; y levantóse de noche, é hirió á los Idumeos que le habían cercado, y á todos los comandantes de sus carros.
10Con todo eso Edom quedó rebelado, sin estar bajo la mano de Judá hasta hoy. También se rebeló en el mismo tiempo Libna para no estar bajo su mano; por cuanto él había dejado á Jehová el Dios de sus padres.
11Demás de esto hizo altos en los montes de Judá, é hizo que los moradores de Jerusalem fornicasen, y á ello impelió á Judá.
12Y viniéronle letras del profeta Elías, que decían: Jehová, el Dios de David tu padre, ha dicho así: Por cuanto no has andado en los caminos de Josaphat tu padre, ni en los caminos de Asa, rey de Judá,
13Antes has andado en el camino de los reyes de Israel, y has hecho que fornicase Judá, y los moradores de Jerusalem, como fornicó la casa de Achâb; y además has muerto á tus hermanos, á la familia de tu padre, los cuales eran mejores que tú:
14He aquí Jehová herirá tu pueblo de una grande plaga, y á tus hijos y á tus mujeres, y á toda tu hacienda;
15Y á ti con muchas enfermedades, con enfermedad de tus entrañas, hasta que las entrañas se te salgan á causa de la enfermedad de cada día.
16Entonces despertó Jehová contra Joram el espíritu de los Filisteos, y de los Arabes que estaban junto á los Etiopes;
17Y subieron contra Judá, é invadieron la tierra, y tomaron toda la hacienda que hallaron en la casa del rey, y á sus hijos, y á sus mujeres; que no le quedó hijo, sino Joachâz el menor de sus hijos.
18Después de todo esto Jehová lo hirió en las entrañas de una enfermedad incurable.
19Y aconteció que, pasando un día tras otro, al fin, al cabo de dos años, las entrañas se le salieron con la enfermedad, muriendo así de enfermedad muy penosa. Y no le hizo quema su pueblo, como las había hecho á sus padres.
20Cuando comenzó á reinar era de treinta y dos años, y reinó en Jerusalem ocho años; y fuése sin ser deseado. Y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David, mas no en los sepulcros de los reyes.

1Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
2And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.
4Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
5Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD.
7Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
8In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king.
9Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.
10So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers.
11Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.
12And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father’s house, which were better than thyself:
14Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
15And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.
16Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
17And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.

2He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah. All these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3Their father gave them great gifts of silver, of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram, because he was the firstborn.

12A letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, “the LORD, the God of David your father, says, ‘Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute like Ahab’s house did, and also have slain your brothers of your father’s house, who were better than yourself,
14behold, the LORD will strike your people with a great plague, including your children, your wives, and all your possessions;
15and you will have great sickness with a disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.’”
16The LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and of the Arabians who are beside the Ethiopians;
17and they came up against Judah, broke into it, and carried away all the possessions that were found in the king’s house, including his sons and his wives, so that there was no son left to him except Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18After all this the LORD struck him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19In process of time, at the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness, and he died of severe diseases. His people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. He departed with no one’s regret. They buried him in David’s city, but not in the tombs of the kings.
