1Et Josaphat, roi de Juda, revint en son palais à Jérusalem.
2Et le prophète Jéhu, fils d'Anani, sortit à sa rencontre, et il lui dit Roi Josaphat, n'as-tu pas porté secours à un impie, et donné ton amitié à un ennemi du Seigneur ? A cause de cela, la colère du Seigneur a été excitée contre toi.
3Cependant, il s'est trouvé du bon en toi ; car tu as détruit les bois sacrés en la terre de Juda, et, d'un cœur droit, tu as cherché Dieu.
4Et Josaphat résida en Jérusalem ; il en sortit encore une fois pour visiter le peuple depuis Bersabée jusqu'aux montagnes d'Ephraïm, et il les ramena au Seigneur Dieu de leurs pères.
5Et il institua des juges dans toutes les places fortes de Juda : un par ville.
6Et il dit aux juges : Soyez attentifs à ce que vous faites ; car vous ne jugez pas pour l'homme, mais pour le Seigneur, et les paroles du jugement sont avec vous.
7Que la crainte du Seigneur soit donc en vous ; veillez et agissez ; car, avec le Seigneur notre Dieu, il n'est point d'iniquité ; il n'y a point à considérer la personne, ni à recevoir des présents.
8Et Josaphat institua en Jérusalem des prêtres, des lévites et des chefs de familles d'Israël, pour juger les choses du Seigneur et les habitants de la ville.
9Et il leur donna ses ordres, disant : Vous ferez votre devoir avec la crainte de Dieu, en la plénitude et en la sincérité de votre cœur.
10Quels que soient ceux de vos frères qui, de leurs villes, viendront à vous en justice, soit pour une décision entre le sang et le sang, soit pour une application des commandements et des préceptes, déterminez bien pour eux le droit et la sentence ; et ils ne pècheront pas envers le Seigneur, et il n'y aura point de colère, ni contre vos frères, ni contre vous. Faites ainsi, et vous ne pècherez pas.
11Et Ananias le prêtre sera votre chef en ce qui concernera le Seigneur ; Zabdias, fils d'Ismaël, prince de la maison de Juda, sera votre chef en ce qui concernera le roi, et vous aurez avec vous des scribes et des lévites ; fortifiez-vous, et faites, et le Seigneur sera avec les bons.

1Y JOSAPHAT rey de Judá se volvió en paz á su casa en Jerusalem.
2Y salióle al encuentro Jehú el vidente, hijo de Hanani, y dijo al rey Josaphat: ¿Al impío das ayuda, y amas á los que aborrecen á Jehová? Pues la ira de la presencia de Jehová será sobre ti por ello.
3Empero se han hallado en ti buenas cosas, porque cortaste de la tierra los bosques, y has apercibido tu corazón á buscar á Dios.
4Habitó pues Josaphat en Jerusalem; mas daba vuelta y salía al pueblo, desde Beer-seba hasta el monte de Ephraim, y reducíalos á Jehová el Dios de sus padres.
5Y puso en la tierra jueces en todas las ciudades fuertes de Judá, por todos los lugares.
6Y dijo á los jueces: Mirad lo que hacéis: porque no juzgáis en lugar de hombre, sino en lugar de Jehová, el cual está con vosotros en el negocio del juicio.
7Sea pues con vosotros el temor de Jehová; guardad y haced: porque en Jehová nuestro Dios no hay iniquidad, ni acepción de personas, ni recibir cohecho.
8Y puso también Josaphat en Jerusalem algunos de los Levitas y sacerdotes, y de los padres de familias de Israel, para el juicio de Jehová y para las causas. Y volviéronse á Jerusalem.
9Y mandóles, diciendo: Procederéis asimismo con temor de Jehová, con verdad, y con corazón íntegro.
10En cualquier causa que viniere á vosotros de vuestros hermanos que habitan en las ciudades, entre sangre y sangre, entre ley y precepto, estatutos y derechos, habéis de amonestarles que no pequen contra Jehová, porque no venga ira sobre vosotros y sobre vuestros hermanos. Obrando así no pecaréis.
11Y he aquí Amarías sacerdote será el que os presida en todo negocio de Jehová; y Zebadías hijo de Ismael, príncipe de la casa de Judá, en todos los negocios del rey; también los Levitas serán oficiales en presencia de vosotros. Esforzaos pues, y obrad; que Jehová será con el bueno.

1And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.
3Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.
4And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beer-sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers.
5And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,
6And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.
7Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
8Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.
9And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
10And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
11And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king’s matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.

1Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked, and love those who hate the LORD? Because of this, wrath is on you from before the LORD.
3Nevertheless there are good things found in you, in that you have put away the Asheroth out of the land, and have set your heart to seek God.”
4Jehoshaphat lived at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim, and brought them back to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
5He set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,
6and said to the judges, “Consider what you do, for you don’t judge for man, but for the LORD; and he is with you in the judgment.
7Now therefore let the fear of the LORD be on you. Take heed and do it; for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes.”
8Moreover in Jerusalem Jehoshaphat appointed certain Levites, priests, and heads of the fathers’ households of Israel to give judgment for the LORD and for controversies. They returned to Jerusalem.
9He commanded them, saying, “You shall do this in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
10Whenever any controversy comes to you from your brothers who dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, you must warn them, that they not be guilty toward the LORD, and so wrath come on you and on your brothers. Do this, and you will not be guilty.
11Behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all the king’s matters. Also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and may the LORD be with the good.”
