1Im 36. Jahre der Regierung Asas aber zog Baesa, der König von Israel, heran wider Juda und befestigte Rama, dass niemand bei Asa, dem König von Juda, sollte aus und ein gehen können. (1) V. 1-6: 1Kön 15:17-22
2Da liess Asa aus den Schatzkammern des Tempels und des Königspalastes Silber und Gold holen und sandte es zu Benhadad, dem König von Syrien, der zu Damaskus wohnte, und liess ihm sagen:
3Es besteht ja ein Bündnis zwischen mir und dir, zwischen meinem Vater und deinem Vater; so sende ich dir nun Silber und Gold. Wohlan, löse dein Bündnis mit Baesa, dem König von Israel, dass er von mir abziehe.
4Und Benhadad willfahrte dem König Asa; er sandte seine Heerführer wider die Städte Israels, und sie verheerten Ijon, Dan und Abel-Maim und alle Vorratshäuser der Städte Naphthalis.
5Als Baesa das hörte, stand er davon ab, Rama zu befestigen, und stellte seine Arbeit ein.
6Der König Asa aber holte ganz Juda herbei, und sie schafften die Steine und Balken weg, womit Baesa Rama befestigt hatte, und er befestigte damit Geba und Mizpa.
7Zu jener Zeit kam der Seher Hanani zu Asa, dem König von Juda, und sprach zu ihm: Weil du dich auf den König von Syrien gestützt hast, statt dich auf den Herrn, deinen Gott, zu stützen, darum ist das Heer des Königs von Syrien deiner Hand entronnen.
8Waren nicht die Kuschiten und Libyer ein gewaltiges Heer mit sehr vielen Wagen und Reitern? Weil du dich aber auf den Herrn stütztest, gab er sie in deine Hand. (a) 2Ch 14:9-13
9Denn des Herrn Augen schweifen über die ganze Erde, damit er sich stark erweise für die, deren Herz ihm ungeteilt gehört. Hierin hast du töricht gehandelt; denn von nun an gibt es für dich nichts als Krieg. (a) Sac 4:10
10Da wurde Asa zornig auf den Seher, und er warf ihn ins Gefängnis und legte ihn in den Block; denn er war deswegen über ihn ergrimmt. Und Asa liess in jener Zeit einige aus dem Volk misshandeln.
11Die Geschichte Asas aber, von Anfang bis zu Ende, siehe, die steht ja geschrieben im Buch der Könige von Juda und von Israel.
12Und im 39. Jahre seiner Regierung wurde Asa krank an den Füssen, und seine Krankheit war sehr schwer; doch auch in seiner Krankheit wandte er sich nicht an den Herrn, sondern an die Ärzte.
13Und Asa legte sich zu seinen Vätern; er starb im 41. Jahre seiner Regierung.
14Und man begrub ihn in der Grabstätte, die er sich in der Davidsstadt hatte aushauen lassen, und legte ihn auf das Lager, das man mit Spezerei und allerlei Art von wohlriechenden Salben, in kunstgerechter Mischung bereitet, angefüllt hatte. Und sie zündeten ihm zu Ehren ein mächtig grosses Feuer an. (a) Jer 34:5

1EN el año treinta y seis del reinado de Asa, subió Baasa rey de Israel contra Judá, y edificó á Rama, para no dejar salir ni entrar á ninguno al rey Asa, rey de Judá.
2Entonces sacó Asa la plata y el oro de los tesoros de la casa de Jehová y de la casa real, y envió á Ben-adad rey de Siria, que estaba en Damasco, diciendo:
3Haya alianza entre mí y ti, como la hubo entre mi padre y tu padre; he aquí yo te he enviado plata y oro, para que vengas y deshagas la alianza que tienes con Baasa rey de Israel, á fin de que se retire de mí.
4Y consintió Ben-adad con el rey Asa, y envió los capitanes de sus ejércitos á la ciudades de Israel: y batieron á Ion, Dan, y Abel-maim, y las ciudades fuertes de Nephtalí.
5Y oyendo esto Baasa, cesó de edificar á Rama, y dejó su obra.
6Entonces el rey Asa tomó á todo Judá, y lleváronse de Rama la piedra y madera con que Baasa edificaba, y con ella edificó á Gibaa y Mizpa.
7En aquel tiempo vino Hanani vidente á Asa rey de Judá, y díjole: Por cuanto te has apoyado en el rey de Siria, y no te apoyaste en Jehová tu Dios, por eso el ejército del rey de Siria ha escapado de tus manos.
8Los Etiopes y los Libios, ¿no eran un ejército numerosísimo, con carros y muy mucha gente de á caballo? con todo, porque te apoyaste en Jehová, él los entregó en tus manos.
9Porque los ojos de Jehová contemplan toda la tierra, para corroborar á los que tienen corazón perfecto para con él. Locamente has hecho en esto; porque de aquí adelante habrá guerra contra ti.
10Y enojado Asa contra el vidente, echólo en la casa de la cárcel, porque fué en extremo conmovido á causa de esto. Y oprimió Asa en aquel tiempo algunos del pueblo.
11Mas he aquí, los hechos de Asa, primeros y postreros, están escritos en el libro de los reyes de Judá y de Israel.
12Y el año treinta y nueve de su reinado enfermó Asa de los pies para arriba, y en su enfermedad no buscó á Jehová, sino á los médicos.
13Y durmió Asa con sus padres, y murió en el año cuarenta y uno de su reinado.
14Y sepultáronlo en sus sepulcros que él había hecho para sí en la ciudad de David; Y pusiéronlo en una litera, la cual hinchieron de aromas y diversas materias odoríferas, preparadas por obra de perfumadores; é hiciéronle una quema muy grande.

1In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
2Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben-hadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
3There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
4And Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-maim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.
5And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.
6Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
7And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.
8Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.
9For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
10Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.
11And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.
13And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
14And they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.

1In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
2Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the LORD’s house and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben Hadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,
3“Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”
4Ben Hadad listened to King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they struck Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.
5When Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and let his work cease.
6Then Asa the king took all Judah, and they carried away the stones and timber of Ramah, with which Baasha had built; and he built Geba and Mizpah with them.
7At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the LORD your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of your hand.
8Weren’t the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge army, with chariots and exceedingly many horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the LORD, he delivered them into your hand.
9For the LORD’s eyes run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. You have done foolishly in this; for from now on you will have wars.”
10Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.
11Behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa was diseased in his feet. His disease was exceedingly great; yet in his disease he didn’t seek the LORD, but just the physicians.
13Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.
14They buried him in his own tomb, which he had dug out for himself in David’s city, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers’ art; and they made a very great fire for him.
