25Mein Herr gebe doch nichts auf diesen nichtswürdigen Menschen, auf Nabal! Denn er ist wirklich so, wie sein Name besagt: er heißt Nabal und verübt nur Torheiten; ich aber, deine Magd, habe die Leute, die du, mein Herr, gesandt hast, nicht zu Gesicht bekommen.

25Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thine handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.

25Please don’t let my lord pay attention to this worthless fellow, Nabal, for as his name is, so is he. Nabal is his name, and folly is with him; but I, your servant, didn’t see my lord’s young men whom you sent.
