1Und er wandelte in allen Sünden seines Vaters, die er vor ihm getan hatte und sein Herz war nicht rechtschaffen an dem HERRN, seinem Gott, wie das Herz seines Vaters David.
2Denn um Davids willen gab der HERR, sein Gott, ihm eine Leuchte zu Jerusalem, daß er seinen Sohn nach ihm erweckte und erhielt zu Jerusalem,
3darum daß David getan hatte, das dem HERRN wohlgefiel, und nicht gewichen war von allem, das er ihm gebot sein Leben lang, ohne in dem Handel mit Uria, dem Hethiter.
4Es war aber ein Krieg zwischen Rehabeam und Jerobeam sein Leben lang.
5Was aber mehr von Abiam zu sagen ist, und alles, was er getan hat; siehe, das ist geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige Judas. Es war aber Krieg zwischen Abiam und Jerobeam.
6Und Abiam entschlief mit seinen Vätern, und sie begruben ihn in der Stadt Davids. Und Assa, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
7Im zwanzigsten Jahr des Königs Jerobeam über Israel ward Assa König in Juda.
8Und regierte einundvierzig Jahre zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Maecha, eine Tochter Abisaloms.
9Und Assa tat, das dem HERRN wohlgefiel, wie sein Vater David.
10Und tat die Hurer aus dem Lande und tat ab alle Götzen, die seine Väter gemacht hatten.
11Dazu setzte er auch seine Mutter Maecha ab vom Amt, das sie dem Miplezeth gemacht hatte im Haine. Und Assa rottete aus ihren Miplezeth und verbrannte ihn im Bach Kidron.
12Aber die Höhen taten sie nicht ab. Doch war das Herz Assas rechtschaffen an dem HERRN sein Leben lang.
13Und das Silber und Gold und Gefäß, das sein Vater geheiliget hatte, und was geheiliget war zum Hause des HERRN brachte er ein.
14Und es war Streit zwischen Assa und Baesa, dem Könige Israels, ihr Leben lang.
15Baesa aber, der König Israels, zog herauf wider Juda und bauete Rama, daß niemand sollte aus und einziehen auf Assas Seiten, des Königs Judas.
16Da nahm Assa alles Silber und Gold, das übrig war im Schatz des Hauses des HERRN und im Schatz des Hauses des Königs, und gab's in seiner Knechte Hände; und sandte sie zu Benhadad, dem Sohn Tabrimons, des Sohns Hesions, dem Könige in Syrien, der zu Damaskus wohnete, und ließ ihm sagen:
17Es ist ein Bund zwischen mir und dir und zwischen meinem Vater und deinem Vater; darum schicke ich dir ein Geschenk, Silber und Gold, daß du fahren lassest den Bund, den du mit Baesa, dem Könige Israels, hast, daß er von mir abziehe.
18Benhadad gehorchte dem Könige Assa und sandte seine Hauptleute wider die Städte Israels und schlug Ijon und Dan und Abel-Beth-Maecha, das ganze Cinneroth, an dem ganzen Lande Naphthali.
19Da das Baesa hörete, ließ er ab, zu bauen Rama, und zog wieder gen Thirza.
20Der König Assa aber ließ erschallen im ganzen Juda: Hie sei niemand ausgenommen! Und sie nahmen die Steine und Holz von Rama weg, damit Baesa gebauet hatte; und der König Assa bauete damit Geba-Benjamin und Mizpa.
21Was aber mehr von Assa zu sagen ist, und alle seine Macht und alles, was er getan hat, und die Städte, die er gebauet hat, siehe, das ist geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige Judas; ohne daß er in seinem Alter an seinen Füßen krank war.
22Und Assa entschlief mit seinen Vätern und ward begraben mit seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids, seines Vaters. Und Josaphat, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
23Nadab aber, der Sohn Jerobeams, ward König über Israel im andern Jahr Assas, des Königs Judas, und regierte über Israel zwei Jahre.
24Und tat, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, und wandelte in dem Wege seines Vaters und in seiner Sünde, damit er Israel hatte sündigen gemacht.
25Aber Baesa, der Sohn Ahias, aus dem Hause Isaschar, machte einen Bund wider ihn und schlug ihn zu Gibethon, welche war der Philister. Denn Nadab und das ganze Israel belagerten Gibethon.
26Also tötete ihn Baesa im dritten Jahr Assas, des Königs Judas, und ward König an seiner Statt.
27Als er nun König war, schlug er das ganze Haus Jerobeams und ließ nicht über etwas, das den Odem hatte von Jerobeam, bis er ihn vertilgte; nach dem Wort des HERRN, das er geredet hatte durch seinen Knecht Ahia von Silo,
28um der Sünde willen Jerobeams, die er tat und damit Israel sündigen machte, mit dem Reizen, damit er den HERRN, den Gott Israels, erzürnete.
29Was aber mehr von Nadab zu sagen ist, und alles, was er getan hat, siehe, das ist geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige Israels.
30Und es war Krieg zwischen Assa und Baesa, dem Könige Israels, ihr Leben lang.
31Im dritten Jahr Assas, des Königs Judas, ward Baesa, der Sohn Ahias, König über das ganze Israel zu Thirza vierundzwanzig Jahre.
32Und tat, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, und wandelte in dem Wege Jerobeams und in seiner Sünde, damit er Israel hatte sündigen gemacht.
33Es kam aber das Wort des HERRN zu Jehu, dem Sohn Hananis, wider Baesa und sprach:
34Darum, daß ich dich aus dem Staube erhoben habe und zum Fürsten gemacht über mein Volk Israel, und du wandelst in dem Wege Jerobeams und machest mein Volk Israel sündigen, daß du mich erzürnest durch ihre Sünde,

1EN el año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, Abiam comenzó á reinar sobre Judá.
2Reinó tres años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Maachâ, hija de Abisalom.
3Y anduvo en todos los pecados de su padre, que había éste hecho antes de él; y no fué su corazón perfecto con Jehová su Dios, como el corazón de David su padre.
4Mas por amor de David, dióle Jehová su Dios lámpara en Jerusalem, levantándole á su hijo después de él, y sosteniendo á Jerusalem:
5Por cuanto David había hecho lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, y de ninguna cosa que le mandase se había apartado en todos los días de su vida, excepto el negocio de Uría Hetheo.
6Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días de su vida.
7Lo demás de los hechos de Abiam, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no están escritas en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Y hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.
8Y durmió Abiam con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David: y reinó Asa su hijo en su lugar.
9En el año veinte de Jeroboam rey de Israel, Asa comenzó á reinar sobre Judá.
10Y reinó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalem; el nombre de su madre fué Maachâ, hija de Abisalom.
11Y Asa hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, como David su padre.
12Porque quitó los sodomitas de la tierra, y quitó todas las suciedades que sus padres habían hecho.
13Y también privó á su madre Maachâ de ser princesa, porque había hecho un ídolo en un bosque. Además deshizo Asa el ídolo de su madre, y quemólo junto al torrente de Cedrón.
14Empero los altos no se quitaron: con todo, el corazón de Asa fué perfecto para con Jehová toda su vida.
15También metió en la casa de Jehová lo que su padre había dedicado, y lo que él dedicó: oro, y plata, y vasos.
16Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.
17Y subió Baasa rey de Israel contra Judá, y edificó á Rama, para no dejar salir ni entrar á ninguno de Asa, rey de Judá.
18Entonces tomando Asa toda la plata y oro que había quedado en los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa real, entrególos en las manos de sus siervos, y enviólos el rey Asa á Ben-adad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, el cual residía en Damasco, diciendo:
19Alianza hay entre mí y ti, y entre mi padre y el tuyo: he aquí yo te envío un presente de plata y oro: ve, y rompe tu alianza con Baasa rey de Israel, para que me deje.
20Y Ben-adad consintió con el rey Asa, y envió los príncipes de los ejércitos que tenía contra las ciudades de Israel, é hirió á Ahión, y á Dan, y á Abel-beth-maachâ, y á toda Cinneroth, con toda la tierra de Nephtalí.
21Y oyendo esto Baasa, dejó de edificar á Rama, y estúvose en Thirsa.
22Entonces el rey Asa convocó á todo Judá, sin exceptuar ninguno; y quitaron de Rama la piedra y la madera con que Baasa edificaba, y edificó el rey Asa con ello á Gabaa de Benjamín, y á Mizpa.
23Lo demás de todos los hechos de Asa, y toda su fortaleza, y todas las cosas que hizo, y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Mas en el tiempo de su vejez enfermó de sus pies.
24Y durmió Asa con sus padres, y fué sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David su padre: y reinó en su lugar Josaphat su hijo.
25Y Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó á reinar sobre Israel en el segundo año de Asa rey de Judá; y reinó sobre Israel dos años.
26E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, andando en el camino de su padre, y en sus pecados con que hizo pecar á Israel.
27Y Baasa hijo de Ahía, el cual era de la casa de Issachâr, hizo conspiración contra él: é hiriólo Baasa en Gibbethón, que era de los Filisteos: porque Nadab y todo Israel tenían cercado á Gibbethón.
28Matólo pues Baasa en el tercer año de Asa rey de Judá, y reinó en lugar suyo.
29Y como él vino al reino, hirió toda la casa de Jeroboam, sin dejar alma viviente de los de Jeroboam, hasta raerlo, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que él habló por su siervo Ahías Silonita;
30Por los pecados de Jeroboam que él había cometido, y con los cuales hizo pecar á Israel; y por su provocación con que provocó á enojo á Jehová Dios de Israel.
31Lo demás de los hechos de Nadab, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
32Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.
33En el tercer año de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Baasa hijo de Ahía sobre todo Israel en Thirsa; y reinó veinticuatro años.
34E hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en el camino de Jeroboam, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar á Israel.

1Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.
2Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
3And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.
4Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
5Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
6And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
7Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
8And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.
9And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.
10And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
11And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.
12And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
13And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
14But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa’s heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.
15And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.
16And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
17And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
18Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
19There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
20So Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
21And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
22Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
23The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
24And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
25And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
26And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
27And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

30Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.
