1Im achtzehnten Jahre des Königs Jeroboam, des Nabatsohnes, ward Abia König in Juda.
2Er regierte zu Jerusalem drei Jahre, und seine Mutter hieß Maaka, des Abisalom Tochter.
3Er wandelte in allen Sünden seines Vaters, die er vor ihm getan hatte, und sein Herz war nicht ganz beim Herrn, seinem Gott, wie seines Vaters David Herz.
4Denn nur um Davids willen hatte ihm der Herr, sein Gott, eine Leuchte zu Jerusalem gelassen, daß er seinen Sohn nach ihm erstehen und Jerusalem bestehen ließ.
5Denn David hatte getan, was recht war in den Augen des Herrn, und war in nichts abgewichen von dem, was er ihm geboten, sein ganzes Leben lang, außer in der Sache des Chittiters Urias.
6Zwischen Rechabeam und Jeroboam aber war zeitlebens Krieg.
7Ist der Rest der Geschichte Abias und alles dessen, was er getan, nicht im Buche der Geschichte der Könige Judas aufgeschrieben? Auch zwischen Abia und Jeroboam war Krieg.
8Als sich Abia zu seinen Vätern legte, begrub man ihn in der Davidsstadt, und sein Sohn Asa ward an seiner Statt König.
9Im zwanzigsten Jahre des israelitischen Königs Jeroboam ward Asa König in Juda.
10Er regierte in Jerusalem einundvierzig Jahre. Seine Mutter hieß Maaka, des Abisalom Tochter.
11Asa tat, wie sein Ahne David, was recht war in des Herrn Augen.
12So trieb er die Tempeldirnen aus dem Land und beseitigte all die Schandgestalten, die seine Väter gemacht hatten.
13Auch seine Mutter Maaka setzte er als Herrin ab, weil sie ein Schandbild der Aschera gemacht hatte. Asa hieb ihr Schandbild um und verbrannte es im Kidrontal.
14Die Höhen aber waren nicht beseitigt worden. Doch blieb Asas Herz ganz beim Herrn sein Leben lang.
15Er brachte seines Vaters Weihegaben und seine eigenen Gaben in das Haus des Herrn, Silber, Gold und Geräte.
16Zwischen Asa und Baësa, Israels König, aber war immer Krieg.
17Israels König Baësa nun zog gegen Juda und baute Rama aus, um dem Judakönig Asa Aus- und Einzug zu versperren.
18Da nahm Asa alles Silber und Gold in den Schatzkammern des Hauses und die Schätze im königlichen Haus und händigte sie seinen Dienern ein. Dann sandte sie der König Asa zu dem König von Aram, Benhadad, dem Sohn des Tabrimmon und Chesjons Enkel, der zu Damaskus saß, und ließ ihm sagen:
19"Zwischen mir und dir sei ein Bund, wie zwischen meinem und deinem Vater! Hier sende ich dir ein Geschenk an Silber und Gold. Wohlan! Brich deinen Bund mit Israels König Baësa! Dann zieht er von mir ab."
20Benhadad nun hörte auf König Asa und sandte seine Heeresobersten gegen die Städte Israels. Er verheerte ljjon, Dan, Abel Bet Maaka und ganz Kinerot samt dem ganzen Land Naphtali.
21Als dies Baësa vernahm, ließ er den Ausbau von Rama und blieb in Tirsa.
22Nun hatte der König Asa ganz Juda aufgeboten; keiner war davon befreit, und sie schafften die Steine und Balken fort, mit denen Baësa Rama ausgebaut hatte. König Asa baute damit Geba in Benjamin und Mispa aus.
23Ist der Rest der Geschichte Asas und all seine Heldentaten und alles, was er sonst getan, sowie die Städte, die er ausgebaut, nicht im Buche der Geschichte der Könige Judas aufgezeichnet? Im Alter aber litt er an kranken Füßen.
24Als sich Asa zu seinen Vätern legte, ward er bei seinen Vätern in der Davidsstadt begraben. Sein Sohn Josaphat ward an seiner Statt König.
25Jeroboams Sohn Nadab war in Israel König geworden im zweiten Jahre des Judakönigs Asa. Er regierte über Israel zwei Jahre.
26Und er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, Und wandelte auf seines Vaters Weg und in seiner Sünde, zu der er Israel verführt hatte.
27Achias Sohn Baësa vom Hause Issakar aber verschwor sich gegen ihn. Und Baësa erschlug ihn zu Gibbeton, das den Philistern gehörte, als Nadab mit ganz Israel Gibbeton belagerte.
28So tötete ihn Baësa im dritten Jahre des Judakönigs Asa und ward an seiner Statt König.
29Sobald er König geworden war, schlug er Jeroboams ganzes Haus. Er ließ von Jeroboam nichts übrig, was Odem hatte, bis er es vertilgt hatte, nach des Herrn Wort, das er durch seinen Diener Achia, den Siloniter, gesprochen hatte,
30Und zwar wegen Jeroboams Sünden, die er getan und zu denen er Israel verleitet durch das Ärgernis, durch das er dem Herrn, Israels Gott, eine Kränkung bereitet hatte.
31Ist der Rest der Geschichte Nadabs und alles dessen, was er getan, nicht im Buch der Geschichte der Könige Israels aufgezeichnet?
32Zwischen Asa und dem König Israels, Baësa, aber war immer Krieg.
33Im dritten Jahre des Judakönigs Asa ward des Achia Sohn Baësa König über Israels ganzen Rest zu Tirsa für vierundzwanzig Jahre.
34Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, und wandelte auf Jeroboams Weg und in seiner Sünde, zu der er Israel verführt hatte.

1EN el año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, Abiam comenzó á reinar sobre Judá.
2Reinó tres años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Maachâ, hija de Abisalom.
3Y anduvo en todos los pecados de su padre, que había éste hecho antes de él; y no fué su corazón perfecto con Jehová su Dios, como el corazón de David su padre.
4Mas por amor de David, dióle Jehová su Dios lámpara en Jerusalem, levantándole á su hijo después de él, y sosteniendo á Jerusalem:
5Por cuanto David había hecho lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, y de ninguna cosa que le mandase se había apartado en todos los días de su vida, excepto el negocio de Uría Hetheo.
6Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días de su vida.
7Lo demás de los hechos de Abiam, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no están escritas en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Y hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.
8Y durmió Abiam con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David: y reinó Asa su hijo en su lugar.
9En el año veinte de Jeroboam rey de Israel, Asa comenzó á reinar sobre Judá.
10Y reinó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalem; el nombre de su madre fué Maachâ, hija de Abisalom.
11Y Asa hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, como David su padre.
12Porque quitó los sodomitas de la tierra, y quitó todas las suciedades que sus padres habían hecho.
13Y también privó á su madre Maachâ de ser princesa, porque había hecho un ídolo en un bosque. Además deshizo Asa el ídolo de su madre, y quemólo junto al torrente de Cedrón.
14Empero los altos no se quitaron: con todo, el corazón de Asa fué perfecto para con Jehová toda su vida.
15También metió en la casa de Jehová lo que su padre había dedicado, y lo que él dedicó: oro, y plata, y vasos.
16Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.
17Y subió Baasa rey de Israel contra Judá, y edificó á Rama, para no dejar salir ni entrar á ninguno de Asa, rey de Judá.
18Entonces tomando Asa toda la plata y oro que había quedado en los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa real, entrególos en las manos de sus siervos, y enviólos el rey Asa á Ben-adad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, el cual residía en Damasco, diciendo:
19Alianza hay entre mí y ti, y entre mi padre y el tuyo: he aquí yo te envío un presente de plata y oro: ve, y rompe tu alianza con Baasa rey de Israel, para que me deje.
20Y Ben-adad consintió con el rey Asa, y envió los príncipes de los ejércitos que tenía contra las ciudades de Israel, é hirió á Ahión, y á Dan, y á Abel-beth-maachâ, y á toda Cinneroth, con toda la tierra de Nephtalí.
21Y oyendo esto Baasa, dejó de edificar á Rama, y estúvose en Thirsa.
22Entonces el rey Asa convocó á todo Judá, sin exceptuar ninguno; y quitaron de Rama la piedra y la madera con que Baasa edificaba, y edificó el rey Asa con ello á Gabaa de Benjamín, y á Mizpa.
23Lo demás de todos los hechos de Asa, y toda su fortaleza, y todas las cosas que hizo, y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Mas en el tiempo de su vejez enfermó de sus pies.
24Y durmió Asa con sus padres, y fué sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David su padre: y reinó en su lugar Josaphat su hijo.
25Y Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó á reinar sobre Israel en el segundo año de Asa rey de Judá; y reinó sobre Israel dos años.
26E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, andando en el camino de su padre, y en sus pecados con que hizo pecar á Israel.
27Y Baasa hijo de Ahía, el cual era de la casa de Issachâr, hizo conspiración contra él: é hiriólo Baasa en Gibbethón, que era de los Filisteos: porque Nadab y todo Israel tenían cercado á Gibbethón.
28Matólo pues Baasa en el tercer año de Asa rey de Judá, y reinó en lugar suyo.
29Y como él vino al reino, hirió toda la casa de Jeroboam, sin dejar alma viviente de los de Jeroboam, hasta raerlo, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que él habló por su siervo Ahías Silonita;
30Por los pecados de Jeroboam que él había cometido, y con los cuales hizo pecar á Israel; y por su provocación con que provocó á enojo á Jehová Dios de Israel.

1Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.
2Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
3And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.
4Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
5Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
6And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
7Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
8And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.
9And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.
10And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
11And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.
12And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
13And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
14But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa’s heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.
15And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.
16And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
17And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
18Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
19There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
20So Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
21And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
22Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
23The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
24And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
25And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
26And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
