1Voici les fils de Ruben ; il était le premier-né ; mais parce qu'il s'était introduit dans la couche de son père, Jacob ayant donné sa bénédiction à son fils Joseph, le droit d'aînesse de Ruben ne lui était plus compté.
2Car Juda était fort parmi ses frères ; le chef est sorti de lui, la bénédiction est restée à Joseph.
3Fils de Ruben, premier-né d'Israël : Enoch, Phallus, Asron et Charmi.
4Fils de Johel : Sémeï et Banaïas son fils. Fils de Gug, fils de Sémeï,
5Micha, son fils Recha, son fils Johel,
6Son fils Behel, qu'emmena Thelgath-Phalnasar, roi des Assyriens ; il était le chef des Rubénites.
7Et, avec lui, furent emmenés ses frères, selon le dénombrement qui en fut fait par familles ; les chefs de ces familles étaient : Johel, Zacharie,
8Et Balec, fils d'Azuz, fils de Sama, fils de Johel. Balec demeurait en Aroer, et vers Nebo et Belmasson.
9Et il s'était étendu à l'orient jusqu'au désert, du côté de l'Euphrate, parce qu'il avait de nombreux troupeaux en la terre de Galaad.
10Et, sous le règne de Saül, ils furent en guerre avec leurs voisins, et ceux qui habitaient sous des tentes tombèrent entre leurs mains, et ils maîtrisèrent toute la contrée à l'orient de Galaad.
11Les fils de Gad, en face, demeurèrent en la terre de Basan jusqu'à Sela.
12Le premier-né fut Johel ; le second Saphan ; puis, venaient Jania, le scribe de Basan,
13Et ses frères, par familles paternelles : Michel, Mosollam, Sébée, Joré, Joachan, Zué et Obed ; sept.
14Les fils d'Abihaïl, fils d'Uri, fils d'Isaïe, fils de Galaad, fils de Michel, fils de Jésé, fils de Jeddé, fils de Bas,
15Frère du fils d'Abdiel, fils de Guni, chef de la maison paternelle,
16Habitaient en Galaad, en Basan, en leurs bourgs et en tout le territoire de Saron jusqu'à ses limites.
17Leur dénombrement fut fait du temps de Joatham, roi de Juda, et de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël.
18Les fils de Ruben, Gad et la demi-tribu de Manassé comptaient quarante- quatre mille sept cent soixante hommes, dans la force de l'âge, portant glaive et bouclier, tendant l'arc, exercés à la guerre, propres à marcher au combat.
19Et ils furent en guerre avec les Agaréens, les Ituréens, les Naphiséens et les Nadabéens.
20Et ils l'emportèrent sur eux. Et les Agaréens, avec toutes leurs tentes, tombèrent entre leurs mains, parce que les vainqueurs avaient invoqué Dieu pendant la bataille ; et Dieu les exauça, parce qu'ils avaient espéré en lui.
21Et ils prirent tout ce que les autres possédaient : cinquante mille chameaux, deux cent cinquante mille brebis, deux mille ânes ; et la vie de cent mille hommes.
22Car une grande multitude de blessés succomba, parce que cette guerre s'était faite selon la volonté de Dieu, et les vainqueurs habitèrent le territoire des vaincus Jusqu'à la captivité.
23Et la demi-tribu de Manassé s'étendit de Basan Baal, Hermon, Sanir et la montagne d'Hermon ; ses fils se multiplièrent dans le Liban.
24Et voici leurs chefs, par familles : Opher, Sei, Eliel, Jérémie, Oduïa et Jediel ; hommes riches et renommés, chefs des familles de la demi-tribu.
25Et ils répudièrent le Dieu de leurs pères, et ils se prostituèrent à la suite des dieux de la terre que le Seigneur avait effacés devant leur face.
26Et le Dieu d'Israël excita l'esprit de Phaloch (Phul), roi d'Assur, et l'esprit de Thelgath-Phalnasar, roi d'Assur. Ce roi enleva Ruben, et Gad, et la demi-tribu de Manassé, et il les transporta en Haach, en Hahor, et sur le fleuve Gozan, où ils sont restés jusqu'à nos jours.
27Fils de Lévi : Gerson, Caath et Mérari.
28Fils de Caath : Amram et Isaar, Hébron et Oziel.
29Enfants d'Amram : Aaron, Moïse et Marie. Fils d'Aaron : Nadab et Abiud, Eléazar et Ithamar.
30Eléazar engendra Phinéès, et Phinéès engendra Abisué.
31Abisué engendra Bocci, et Bocci engendra Ozi.
32Ozi engendra Zaraïas, et Zaraïas engendra Mariel.
33Mariel engendra Amarias, et Amarias engendra Achitob.
34Achitob engendra Sadoc, et Sadoc engendra Achimaas.
35Achimaas engendra Azarias, et Azarias engendra Johanan,
36Johanan engendra Azarias ; ce fut lui qui exerça le sacerdoce dans le temple que Salomon bâtit à Jérusalem.
37Azarias engendra Amarias, et Amarias engendra Achitob.
38Achitob engendra Sadoc, et Sadoc engendra Salom.
39Salom engendra Helcias, et Helcias engendra Azarias.
40Azarias engendra Saraias, et Sareas engendra Josadac.

1Y LOS hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, (porque él era el primogénito, mas como violó el lecho de su padre, sus derechos de primogenitura fueron dados á los hijos de José, hijo de Israel; y no fué contado por primogénito.
2Porque Judá fué el mayorazgo sobre sus hermanos, y el príncipe de ellos: mas el derecho de primogenitura fué de José.)
3Fueron pues los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel: Enoch, Phallu, Esrón y Charmi.
4Los hijos de Joel: Semaías su hijo, Gog su hijo, Simi su hijo;
5Michâ su hijo, Recaía su hijo, Baal su hijo;
6Beera su hijo, el cual fué trasportado por Thiglath-pilneser rey de los Asirios. Este era principal de los Rubenitas.
7Y sus hermanos por sus familias, cuando eran contados en sus descendencias, tenían por príncipes á Jeiel y á Zachârías.
8Y Bela hijo de Azaz, hijo de Sema, hijo de Joel, habitó en Aroer hasta Nebo y Baal-meón.
9Habitó también desde el oriente hasta la entrada del desierto desde el río Eufrates: porque tenía muchos ganados en la tierra de Galaad.
10Y en los días de Saúl trajeron guerra contra los Agarenos, los cuales cayeron en su mano; y ellos habitaron en sus tiendas sobre toda la haz oriental de Galaad.
11Y los hijos de Gad habitaron enfrente de ellos en la tierra de Basán hasta Salca.
12Y Joel fué el principal en Basán, el segundo Sephán, luego Janai, después Saphat.
13Y sus hermanos, según las familias de sus padres, fueron Michâel, Mesullam, Seba, Jorai, Jachân, Zia, y Heber; en todos siete.
14Estos fueron los hijos de Abihail hijo de Huri, hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Michâel, hijo de Jesiaí, hijo de Jaddo, hijo de Buz.
15También Ahí, hijo de Abdiel, hijo de Guni, fué principal en la casa de sus padres.
16Los cuales habitaron en Galaad, en Basán, y en sus aldeas, y en todos los ejidos de Sarón hasta salir de ellos.
17Todos estos fueron contados por sus generaciones en días de Jothán rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam rey de Israel.
18Los hijos de Rubén, y de Gad, y la media tribu de Manasés, hombres valientes, hombres que traían escudo y espada, que entesaban arco, y diestros en guerra, eran cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos y sesenta que salían á batalla.
19Y tuvieron guerra con los Agarenos, y Jethur, y Naphis, y Nodab.
20Y fueron ayudados contra ellos, y los Agarenos se dieron en sus manos, y todos los que con ellos estaban; porque clamaron á Dios en la guerra, y fuéles favorable, porque esperaron en él.
21Y tomaron sus ganados, cincuenta mil camellos, y doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas, dos mil asnos, y cien mil personas.
22Y cayeron muchos heridos, porque la guerra era de Dios; y habitaron en sus lugares hasta la transmigración.
23Y los hijos de la media tribu de Manasés habitaron en la tierra, desde Basán hasta Baal-Hermón, y Senir y el monte de Hermón, multiplicados en gran manera.
24Y estas fueron las cabezas de las casas de sus padres: Epher, Isi, y Eliel, Azriel, y Jeremías, y Odavia, y Jadiel, hombres valientes y de esfuerzo, varones de nombre y cabeceras de las casas de sus padres.
25Mas se rebelaron contra el Dios de sus padres, y fornicaron siguiendo los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra, á los cuales había Jehová quitado de delante de ellos.
26Por lo cual el Dios de Israel excitó el espíritu de Phul rey de los Asirios, y el espíritu de Thiglath-pilneser rey de los Asirios, el cual trasportó á los Rubenitas y Gaditas y á la media tribu de Manasés, y llevólos á Halad, y á Habor y á Ara, y al río de Gozán, hasta hoy.

1Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
2For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph’s:)
3The sons, I say, of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were, Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
5Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,
6Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.
7And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
8And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-meon:
9And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.
11And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salchah:
12Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
13And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.
14These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
15Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers.
16And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.
17All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.
19And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.
20And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
21And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.
22For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.
23And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.
24And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.
25And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.

20They were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he answered them because they put their trust in him.
21They took away their livestock: of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred fifty thousand, and of donkeys two thousand, and of men one hundred thousand.
22For many fell slain, because the war was of God. They lived in their place until the captivity.

26So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried away the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this day.
