1Ora ecco i figliuoli d’Israele, secondo il loro numero, i capi di famiglie patriarcali, i capi di migliaia e di centinaia e i loro ufficiali al servizio del re per tutto quello che concerneva le divisioni che entravano e uscivano di servizio, mese per mese, tutti i mesi dell’anno, ogni divisione essendo di ventiquattromila uomini.
2A capo della prima divisione per il primo mese, stava Jashobeam, figliuolo di Zabdiel, e la sua divisione era di ventiquattromila uomini.
3Egli era dei figliuoli di Perets, e capo di tutti gli ufficiali dell’esercito, per il primo mese.
4A capo della divisione del secondo mese stava Dodai, lo Ahohita, con la sua divisione; Mikloth era l’ufficiale superiore e la sua divisione era di ventiquattromila uomini.
5Il capo della terza divisione per il terzo mese era Benaia, figliuolo del sacerdote Jehoiada; era capo, e la sua divisione noverava ventiquattromila uomini.
6Questo Benaia era un prode fra i trenta, e a capo dei trenta; Ammizabad, suo figliuolo, era l’ufficiale superiore della sua divisione.
7Il quarto, per il quarto mese, era Asael fratello di Joab; e, dopo di lui, Zebadia, suo figliuolo; aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila uomini.
8Il quinto, per il quinto mese, era il capo Shamehuth, lo Jzrahita, e aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila uomini.
9Il sesto, per il sesto mese, era Ira, figliuolo di Ikkesh, il Tekoita, e aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila uomini.
10Il settimo, per il settimo mese, era Helets, il Pelonita, dei figliuoli d’Efraim, e aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila uomini.
11L’ottavo, per l’ottavo mese, era Sibbecai, lo Hushathita, della famiglia degli Zerahiti, e aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila uomini.
12Il nono, per il nono mese, era Abiezer da Anatoth, dei Beniaminiti, e aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila uomini.
13Il decimo, per il decimo mese, era Mahrai da Netofa, della famiglia degli Zerahiti, e aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila uomini.
14L’undecimo, per l’undecimo mese, era Benaia da Pirathon, de’ figliuoli di Efraim, e aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila uomini.
15Il dodicesimo, per il dodicesimo mese, era Heldai da Netofa, della famiglia di Othniel, e aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila uomini.
16Questi erano i capi delle tribù d’Israele. Capo dei Rubeniti: Eliezer, figliuolo di Zicri. Dei Simeoniti: Scefatia, figliuolo di Maaca.
17Dei Leviti: Hashabia, figliuolo di Kemuel. Di Aaronne: Tsadok.
18Di Giuda: Elihu, dei fratelli di Davide. Di Issacar: Omri, figliuolo di Micael.
19Di Zabulon: Ishmaia, figliuolo di Obadia. Di Neftali: Jerimoth, figliuolo di Azriel.
20Dei figliuoli d’Efraim: Osea, figliuolo di Azazia. Della mezza tribù di Manasse: Ioel, figliuolo di Pedaia.
21Della mezza tribù di Manasse in Galaad: Iddo, figliuolo di Zaccaria. Di Beniamino: Jaaziel, figliuolo di Abner.
22Di Dan: Azareel, figliuolo di Jeroham. Questi erano i capi delle tribù d’Israele.
23Davide non fece il censimento di quei d’Israele ch’erano in età di vent’anni in giù, perché l’Eterno avea detto di moltiplicare Israele come le stelle del cielo.
24Joab, figliuolo di Tseruia, avea cominciato il censimento, ma non lo finì; e l’ira dell’Eterno piombò sopra Israele a motivo di questo censimento, che non fu iscritto fra gli altri nelle Cronache del re Davide.
25Azmaveth, figliuolo di Adiel, era preposto ai tesori del re; Gionathan, figliuolo di Uzzia, ai tesori ch’erano nella campagna, nelle città, nei villaggi e nelle torri;
26Ezri, figliuolo di Kelub, ai lavoratori della campagna per la cultura del suolo;
27Scimei da Rama, alle vigne; Zabdi da Sefam, al prodotto de’ vigneti per fornire le cantine;
28Baal-Hanan da Gheder, agli uliveti ed ai sicomori della pianura; Joash, alle cantine dell’olio;
29Scitrai da Sharon, al grosso bestiame che pasceva a Sharon; Shafat, figliuolo di Adlai, al grosso bestiame delle valli;
30Obil, l’Ishmaelita, ai cammelli; Jehdeia da Meronoth, agli asini;
31Jaziz, lo Hagarita, al minuto bestiame. Tutti questi erano amministratori dei beni del re Davide.
32E Gionathan, zio di Davide, era consigliere, uomo intelligente e istruito; Jehiel, figliuolo di Hacmoni, stava presso i figliuoli del re;
33Ahitofel era consigliere del re; Hushai, l’Arkita, era amico del re;
34dopo Ahitofel furono consiglieri Jehoiada, figliuolo di Benaia, e Abiathar; il capo dell’esercito del re era Joab.

1Y LOS hijos de Israel según su número, á saber, príncipes de familias, tribunos, centuriones y oficiales de los que servían al rey en todos los negocios de las divisiones que entraban y salían cada mes en todos los meses del año, eran en cada división veinte y cuatro mil.
2Sobre la primera división del primer mes estaba Jasobam hijo de Zabdiel; y había en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
3De los hijos de Phares fué él jefe de todos los capitanes de las compañías del primer mes.
4Sobre la división del segundo mes estaba Dodai Ahohita: y Micloth era mayor general en su división, en la que también había veinte y cuatro mil.
5El jefe de la tercera división para el tercer mes era Benaías, hijo de Joiada sumo sacerdote; y en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
6Este Benaías era valiente entre los treinta y sobre los treinta; y en su división estaba Amisabad su hijo.
7El cuarto jefe para el cuarto mes era Asael hermano de Joab, y después de él Zebadías su hijo; y en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
8El quinto jefe para el quinto mes era Sambuth Izrita: y en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
9El sexto para el sexto mes era Hira hijo de Icces, de Tecoa; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
10El séptimo para el séptimo mes era Helles Pelonita, de los hijos de Ephraim; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
11El octavo para el octavo mes era Sibbecai Husatita, de Zarahi; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
12El noveno para el noveno mes era Abiezer Anathothita, de los Benjamitas; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
13El décimo para el décimo mes era Maharai Nethophathita, de Zarahi; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
14El undécimo para el undécimo mes era Benaías Piratonita, de los hijos de Ephraim; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
15El duodécimo para el duodécimo mes era Heldai Nethophathita, de Othniel; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
16Asimismo sobre las tribus de Israel: el jefe de los Rubenitas era Eliezer hijo de Zichri; de los Simeonitas, Sephatías, hijo de Maachâ:
17De los Levitas, Hasabías hijo de Camuel; de los Aaronitas, Sadoc;
18De Judá, Eliú, uno de los hermanos de David; de los de Issachâr, Omri hijo de Michâel;
19De los de Zabulón, Ismaías hijo de Abdías; de los de Nephtalí, Jerimoth hijo de Azriel;
20De los hijos de Ephraim, Oseas hijo de Azazía; de la media tribu de Manasés, Joel hijo de Pedaía;
21De la otra media tribu de Manasés en Galaad, Iddo hijo de Zachârías; de los de Benjamín, Jaaciel hijo de Abner;
22Y de Dan, Azarael hijo de Jeroam. Estos fueron los jefes de las tribus de Israel.
23Y no tomó David el número de los que eran de veinte años abajo, por cuanto Jehová había dicho que él había de multiplicar á Israel como las estrellas del cielo.
24Joab hijo de Sarvia había comenzado á contar, mas no acabó, pues por esto vino la ira sobre Israel: y así el número no fué puesto en el registro de las crónicas del rey David.
25Y Azmaveth hijo de Adiel tenía cargo de los tesoros del rey; y de los tesoros de los campos, y de las ciudades, y de las aldeas y castillos, Jonathán hijo de Uzzías;
26Y de los que trabajaban en la labranza de las tierras, Ezri hijo de Chêlud;
27Y de las viñas Simi Ramathita; y del fruto de las viñas para las bodegas, Zabdías Siphmita;
28Y de los olivares é higuerales que había en las campiñas, Baal-hanan Gederita; y de los almacenes del aceite, Joas;
29De las vacas que pastaban en Sarón, Sitrai Saronita; y de las vacas que estaban en los valles, Saphat hijo de Adlai;
30Y de los camellos, Obil Ismaelita; y de las asnas, Jedías Meronothita;
31Y de las ovejas, Jaziz Agareno. Todos estos eran superintendentes de la hacienda del rey David.
32Y Jonathán, tío de David, era consejero, varón prudente y escriba; y Jehiel hijo de Hacmoni estaba con los hijos del rey.
33Y también Achitophel era consejero del rey; y Husai Arachîta amigo del rey.
34Después de Achitophel era Joiada hijo de Benaías, y Abiathar. Y Joab era el general del ejército del rey.

1Now the children of Israel after their number, to wit, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand.
2Over the first course for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
3Of the children of Perez was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month.
4And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course was Mikloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand.
5The third captain of the host for the third month was Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
6This is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course was Ammizabad his son.
7The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
8The fifth captain for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
9The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
10The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
11The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zarhites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
12The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abi-ezer the Anetothite, of the Benjamites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
13The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zarhites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
14The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
15The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
16Furthermore over the tribes of Israel: the ruler of the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri: of the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maachah:
17Of the Levites, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel: of the Aaronites, Zadok:
18Of Judah, Elihu, one of the brethren of David: of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael:
19Of Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah: of Naphtali, Jerimoth the son of Azriel:
20Of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Azaziah: of the half tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah:
21Of the half tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah: of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner:
22Of Dan, Azareel the son of Jeroham. These were the princes of the tribes of Israel.
23But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.
24Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel; neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of king David.
25And over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah:
26And over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub:
27And over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite: over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite:
28And over the olive trees and the sycomore trees that were in the low plains was Baal-hanan the Gederite: and over the cellars of oil was Joash:
29And over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite: and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai:
30Over the camels also was Obil the Ishmaelite: and over the asses was Jehdeiah the Meronothite:
31And over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagerite. All these were the rulers of the substance which was king David’s.
32Also Jonathan David’s uncle was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons:
33And Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s companion:
34And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the general of the king’s army was Joab.

1Now the children of Israel after their number, the heads of fathers’ households and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in any matter of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year—of every division were twenty-four thousand.
2Over the first division for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel. In his division were twenty-four thousand.
3He was of the children of Perez, the chief of all the captains of the army for the first month.
4Over the division of the second month was Dodai the Ahohite and his division, and Mikloth the ruler; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.
5The third captain of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the chief priest. In his division were twenty-four thousand.
6This is that Benaiah who was the mighty man of the thirty and over the thirty. Of his division was Ammizabad his son.

24Joab the son of Zeruiah began to take a census, but didn’t finish; and wrath came on Israel for this. The number wasn’t put into the account in the chronicles of King David.
25Over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel. Over the treasures in the fields, in the cities, in the villages, and in the towers was Jonathan the son of Uzziah;
26Over those who did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub.
27Over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite. Over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite.
28Over the olive trees and the sycamore trees that were in the lowland was Baal Hanan the Gederite. Over the cellars of oil was Joash.
29Over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite. Over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai.
30Over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite. Over the donkeys was Jehdeiah the Meronothite. Over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite.
31All these were the rulers of the property which was King David’s.
32Also Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and a scribe. Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons.
33Ahithophel was the king’s counselor. Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.
34After Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. Joab was the captain of the king’s army.
