5Los cuales habiéndose retirado y dado parte a David del suceso, envió éste quién le saliese al encuentro (atenta la gran afrenta que había recibido), y les ordenó que se detuviesen en Jericó , y no volviesen hasta que les hubiese crecido la barba.

5Fuéronse pues, y dada que fué la nueva á David de aquellos varones, él envió á recibirlos, porque estaban muy afrentados. E hízoles decir el rey: Estaos en Jericó hasta que os crezca la barba, y entonces volveréis.

5Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.
