PALABRA de Jehová que fué á Sofonías hijo de Cushi, hijo de Gedalías, hijo de Amarías, hijo de Ezechîas, en días de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá.
The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.

"YO destruiré por completo todo sobre la superficie de la tierra, esta es la declaración del SEÑOR.
Destruiré del todo todas las cosas de sobre la haz de la tierra, dice Jehová.
I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.
I will utterly sweep away everything from the surface of the earth, says the LORD.
YO voy a destruir hombres y bestias; YO voy a destruir las aves del cielo y los peces del mar, haré ruinas a los malvados. Quitaré a los hombres de la superficie de la tierra, esta es la declaración del SEÑOR
Destruiré los hombres y las bestias; destruiré las aves del cielo, y los peces de la mar, y las piedras de tropiezo con los impíos; y talaré los hombres de sobre la haz de la tierra, dice Jehová.
I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.
I will sweep away man and animal. I will sweep away the birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and the heaps of rubble with the wicked. I will cut off man from the surface of the earth, says the LORD.
Levantaré mi mano sobre Judá y todos los habitantes de Jerusalén. Yo cortaré cada remanente de Baal de este lugar y los nombres de las personas idólatras entre sus sacerdotes,
Y extenderé mi mano sobre Judá, y sobre todos los moradores de Jerusalem, y exterminaré de este lugar el remanente de Baal, y el nombre de los Chemarim con los sacerdotes;
I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place—the name of the idolatrous and pagan priests,
las personas que en sus casas adoran los cuerpos celestiales, y las personas que adoran y juran al SEÑOR, pero también juran por su rey.
Y á los que se inclinan sobre los terrados al ejército del cielo; y á los que se inclinan jurando por Jehová y jurando por su rey;
And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;
those who worship the army of the sky on the housetops, those who worship and swear by the LORD and also swear by Malcam,
Yo también voy a cortar a aquellos que se han apartado de seguir al SEÑOR, los que ni buscan al SEÑOR ni piden su dirección."
Y á los que tornan atrás de en pos de Jehová; y á los que no buscaron á Jehová, ni preguntaron por él.
And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.
those who have turned back from following the LORD, and those who haven’t sought the LORD nor inquired after him.
¡Estén en silencio ante el SEÑOR! Porque el día del SEÑOR está cerca; el SEÑOR ha preparado el sacrificio, y separó sus invitados.
Calla en la presencia del Señor Jehová, porque el día de Jehová está cercano; porque Jehová ha aparejado sacrificio, prevenido ha sus convidados.
Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.
Be silent at the presence of the Lord GOD, for the day of the LORD is at hand. For the LORD has prepared a sacrifice. He has consecrated his guests.
"Ocurrirá en el día del sacrificio del SEÑOR, que YO castigaré a las princesas y a los hijos del rey, y a todos los que están vestidos en vestimenta de extranjero.
Y será que en el día del sacrificio de Jehová, haré visitación sobre los príncipes, y sobre los hijos del rey, y sobre todos los que visten vestido extranjero.
And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD’s sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.

En ese día, voy a castigar a todos aquellos que adoran a Dagón, los que llenan las casas de sus amos con violencia y engaño.
Asimismo haré visitación en aquel día sobre todos los que saltan la puerta, los que hinchen de robo y de engaño las casas de sus señores.

Y será en aquel día, esta es la declaración de SEÑOR, que un clamor vendrá de la entrada del Pez, desde el Segundo Distrito, y un quebrantamiento desde las colinas.
Y habrá en aquel día, dice Jehová, voz de clamor desde la puerta del pescado, y aullido desde la segunda, y grande quebrantamiento desde los collados.
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.

Laméntensen, habitantes del mercado, porque todos los mercaderes van a ser arruinados; todos esos que pesan plata serán cortados.

Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.

Y acontecerá en ese tiempo que YO voy a buscar a Jerusalén con lámparas, y castigaré a los hombres que han reposado como el vino, y que dicen en sus corazones, el SEÑOR no hará nada, bueno, o malo.'
Y será en aquel tiempo, que yo escudriñaré á Jerusalem con candiles, y haré visitación sobre los hombres que están sentados sobre sus heces, los cuales dicen en su corazón: Jehová ni hará bien ni mal.
And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.

¡Sus bienes serán arrebatados, y sus casas serán abandonadas en ruinas! Ellos construirán casas, pero no vivirán en ellas, y plantarán viñedos pero no beberán de sus vinos.
Será por tanto saqueada su hacienda, y sus casas asoladas: y edificarán casas, mas no las habitarán; y plantarán viñas, mas no beberán el vino de ellas.
Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
Their wealth will become a plunder, and their houses a desolation. Yes, they will build houses, but won’t inhabit them. They will plant vineyards, but won’t drink their wine.
¡El gran día del SEÑOR está cerca, muy cerca!
Cercano está el día grande de Jehová, cercano y muy presuroso; voz amarga del día de Jehová; gritará allí el valiente.
The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

¡El sonido del día de SEÑOR será el de un guerrero que llora profundamente! Ese día será el día de furia, un día de quebranto y angustia; un día de tormenta y devastación, un día de oscuridad y tinieblas, un día de nubes y profunda oscuridad.
Día de ira aquel día, día de angustia y de aprieto, día de alboroto y de asolamiento, día de tiniebla y de oscuridad, día de nublado y de entenebrecimiento,
That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

Será un día de trompetas y alarmas contra las ciudades fortificadas y las altas murallas.
Día de trompeta y de algazara, sobre las ciudades fuertes, y sobre las altas torres.

And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

Ni su plata ni su oro podrá salvarlos en el día de la furia de SEÑOR. En el fuego de su celo toda la tierra será consumida, porque Él traerá un completo y terrible fin para todos los habitantes de la tierra."
Ni su plata ni su oro podrá librarlos en el día de la ira de Jehová; pues toda la tierra será consumida con el fuego de su celo: porque ciertamente consumación apresurada hará con todos los moradores de la tierra.
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
