Imperocché i simolacri hanno date risposte vane, e gl'indovini hanno visioni bugiarde, e gl'interpreti de' sogni parlano senza fondamento, e danno consolazioni vane: per queste cose quelli furon menati via come pecore, perchè erano senza pastore.
Porque las imágenes han hablado vanidad, y los adivinos han visto mentira, y han hablado sueños vanos, en vano consuelan: por lo cual se fueron ellos como ovejas, fueron humillados porque no tuvieron pastor.
For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
