Che i vecchi siano sobrj, pudichi, prudenti, sani nella fede, nella carità, nella pazienza:
Que los viejos sean templados, graves, prudentes, sanos en la fe, en la caridad, en la paciencia.

Così ragiona, ed esorta, e riprendi con ogni autorità. Nissuno faccia poco conto di te. Quali virtù debba raccomandare a' tuoi Cristiani, e da quali vizj debba ritraili: da peccati precedenti siamo stati salvati per sola benignità di Dio mediante la lavanda di rigenerazione, divenuti in isperanza eredi della vita eterna: lo esorta a insegnare tali cose, e a schivare le vane dottrine, e anche gli eretici.
