Paul, serviteur de Dieu, et apôtre de Jésus-Christ pour la foi des élus de Dieu, et pour la connaissance de la vérité, qui est selon la piété,

PABLO, siervo de Dios, y apóstol de Jesucristo, según la fe de los escogidos de Dios, y el conocimiento de la verdad que es según la piedad,

En vue de l'espérance de la vie éternelle, que Dieu, qui ne peut mentir, a promise avant les temps éternels;

Para la esperanza de la vida eterna, la cual Dios, que no puede mentir, prometió antes de los tiempos de los siglos,

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Et qu'il a manifestée en son temps par sa parole, dont la prédication m'a été confiée, selon l'ordre de Dieu notre Sauveur,

Y manifestó á sus tiempos su palabra por la predicación, que me es á mí encomendada por mandamiento de nuestro Salvador Dios;

But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

A Tite, mon vrai fils dans notre commune foi: Grâce, miséricorde et paix de la part de Dieu le Père, et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ notre Sauveur!

A Tito, verdadero hijo en la común fe: Gracia, misericordia, y paz de Dios Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo Salvador nuestro.

To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

La raison pour laquelle je t'ai laissé en Crète, c'est afin que tu achèves de mettre en ordre ce qui reste à régler, et que tu établisses des anciens dans chaque ville, suivant que je te l'ai ordonné,

Por esta causa te dejé en Creta, para que corrigieses lo que falta, y pusieses ancianos por las villas, así como yo te mandé:

For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—

S'il s'y trouve quelqu'un qui soit irrépréhensible, mari d'une seule femme, ayant des enfants fidèles, qui ne soient pas accusés de dérèglement, ni d'insubordination.

El que fuere sin crimen, marido de una mujer, que tenga hijos fieles que no estén acusados de disolución, ó contumaces.

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.

Car il faut que l'évêque soit irrépréhensible, comme économe de Dieu; qu'il ne soit ni présomptueux, ni coléreux, ni adonné au vin, ni violent, ni porté au gain déshonnête;

Porque es menester que el obispo sea sin crimen, como dispensador de Dios; no soberbio, no iracundo, no amador del vino, no heridor, no codicioso de torpes ganancias;

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

Mais, au contraire, hospitalier, aimant les gens de bien, prudent, juste, saint, tempérant,

Sino hospedador, amador de lo bueno, templado, justo, santo, continente;

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,

Attaché à la véritable doctrine qui doit être enseignée, afin qu'il soit capable, tant d'exhorter, selon la saine doctrine, que de convaincre ceux qui s'y opposent.

Retenedor de la fiel palabra que es conforme á la doctrina: para que también pueda exhortar con sana doctrina, y convencer á los que contradijeren.

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.

Il y a, en effet, principalement parmi ceux de la circoncision, beaucoup de gens indisciplinés, de vains discoureurs et d'imposteurs, auxquels il faut fermer la bouche;

Porque hay aún muchos contumaces, habladores de vanidades, y engañadores de las almas, mayormente los que son de la circuncisión,

For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

Qui pervertissent des familles entières, enseignant pour un gain honteux ce qui ne convient pas.

A los cuales es preciso tapar la boca; que trastornan casas enteras; enseñando lo que no conviene, por torpe ganancia.

Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

Quelqu'un d'entre eux, leur propre prophète, a dit: Les Crétois sont toujours menteurs; de méchantes bêtes, des ventres paresseux.

Dijo uno de ellos, propio profeta de ellos: Los Cretenses, siempre mentirosos, malas bestias, vientres perezosos.

One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”

Ce témoignage est véritable. Pour cette raison, reprends-les sévèrement, afin qu'ils deviennent sains dans la foi,

Este testimonio es verdadero: por tanto, repréndelos duramente, para que sean sanos en la fe,

This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

Et ne s'attachent pas aux fables judaïques, ni aux ordonnances des hommes qui se détournent de la vérité.

No atendiendo á fábulas judaicas, y á mandamientos de hombres que se apartan de la verdad.

Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

Tout est pur, il est vrai, pour ceux qui sont purs; mais rien n'est pur pour les impurs et les infidèles; au contraire, et leur esprit et leur conscience sont souillés.

Todas las cosas son limpias á los limpios; mas á los contaminados é infieles nada es limpio: antes su alma y conciencia están contaminadas.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

Ils font profession de connaître Dieu, mais ils le renient par leurs œuvres, étant abominables, rebelles, et incapables d'aucune bonne œuvre.

Profésanse conocer á Dios; mas con los hechos lo niegan, siendo abominables y rebeldes, reprobados para toda buena obra.

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
