A questo fine io ti lasciai in Creta, perchè tu dia sesto a quel, che rimane, e stabilisca de' preti per le città conforme io ti prescrissi.

Por esta causa te dejé en Creta, para que corrigieses lo que falta, y pusieses ancianos por las villas, así como yo te mandé:

For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—
