Grâces soient rendues à Dieu par Jésus-Christ notre Seigneur ! Ainsi donc, laissé à moi-même, je m'asservis, il est vrai par l'intelligence, à la loi de Dieu, mais par la chair à la loi du péché.

Gracias doy á Dios, por Jesucristo Señor nuestro. Así que, yo mismo con la mente sirvo á la ley de Dios, mas con la carne á la ley del pecado.
