Das Gesetz kam nur deswegen dazu, damit sich die Sünde häufe. Doch als die Sünde sich gehäuft hatte, ward die Gnade noch viel mächtiger,

La ley empero entró para que el pecado creciese; mas cuando el pecado creció, sobrepujó la gracia;

Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

The law came in that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly,
