Vi raccomando la nostra sorella Febe, che serve la Chiesa di Chencre:

ENCOMIÉNDOOS empero á Febe nuestra hermana, la cual es diaconisa de la iglesia que está en Cencreas:

I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:

I commend to you Phoebe, our sister, who is a servant of the assembly that is at Cenchreae,

Affinchè la accogliate nel Signore, come si conviene ai Santi: e la assistiate in qualunque cosa avrà bisogno di voi: imperocché ella pure ha assistito molti, e anche me stesso.

Que la recibáis en el Señor, como es digno á los santos, y que la ayudéis en cualquiera cosa en que os hubiere menester: porque ella ha ayudado á muchos, y á mí mismo.

That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.

that you receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and that you assist her in whatever matter she may need from you, for she herself also has been a helper of many, and of my own self.

I quali hanno esposto le loro teste per mia salvezza: ai quali non solo io rendo grazie, ma anche tutte le Chiese de' Gentili.

(Que pusieron sus cuellos por mi vida: á los cuales no doy gracias yo solo, mas aun todas las iglesias de los Gentiles;)

Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

Io poi vi prego, o fratelli, che abbiate gli occhi addosso a quelli, che pongono dissensioni, e inciampi contro la dottrina, che voi avete apparata; e ritiratevi da loro.

Y os ruego hermanos, que miréis los que causan disensiones y escándalos contra la doctrina que vosotros habéis aprendido; y apartaos de ellos.

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.

Imperocché questi tali non servono a Cristo Signor nostro, ma al proprio lor ventre: e con le melate parole, e con l'adulazione seducono i cuori da' semplici.

Porque los tales no sirven al Señor nuestro Jesucristo, sino á sus vientres; y con suaves palabras y bendiciones engañan los corazones de los simples.

For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

For those who are such don’t serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

Imperocché la vostra ubbidienza è divolgata per ogni dove. Mi rallegro adunque per riguardo a voi. Ma bramo che voi siate sapienti nel bene, semplici quanto al male.

Porque vuestra obediencia ha venido á ser notoria á todos; así que me gozo de vosotros; mas quiero que seáis sabios en el bien, y simples en el mal.

For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

For your obedience has become known to all. I rejoice therefore over you. But I desire to have you wise in that which is good, but innocent in that which is evil.

Il Dio poi della pace stritoli Satana sotto de' vostri piedi tostamente. La grazia del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo con voi.

Y el Dios de paz quebrantará presto á Satanás debajo de vuestros pies. La gracia del Señor nuestro Jesucristo sea con vosotros.

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

A lui poi, che è potente per rendervi costanti nel mio Vangelo, e nella predicazione di Gesù Cristo secondo la rivelazione del mistero, che fu taciuta pe' secoli eterni,

Y al que puede confirmaros según mi evangelio y la predicación de Jesucristo, según la revelación del misterio encubierto desde tiempos eternos,

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

E ora è stato svelato, e notificato a tutte le genti per mezzo delle scritture de' profeti giusta l'ordinazione dell'eterno Iddio, affinchè si ubbidisse alla fede.

Mas manifestado ahora, y por las Escrituras de los profetas, según el mandamiento del Dios eterno, declarado á todas las gentes para que obedezcan á la fe;

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

A Dio solo: Sapiente onore, e gloria per Gesù Cristo ne' secoli de' secoli. Così sia. Paolo rende grazie a Dio dei doni dati ai Corinti; ma si duole, che sianvi pure tra loro scisme per cagione di coloro, che gli avevano battezzati; e gode, che pochi egli ne abbia battezzati, essendo stato mandato per predicare. Dimostra, come è stata riprovata la sapienza del mondo, e sono eletti i semplici. La salute è posta nella morte di Cristo, la cui predicazione è giudicata dal mondo stoltezza: ed è pe’ credenti virtù, e sapienza; conciossiachè per questo elesse Dio le più spregiate cose del mondo, affinchè nissuno in se stesso si glorii.
