Deja que toda alma sea obediente a las autoridades superiores, pues no hay ninguna autoridad que no haya venido de Dios. Las autoridades que existen han sido constituidas por Dios.
TODA alma se someta á las potestades superiores; porque no hay potestad sino de Dios; y las que son, de Dios son ordenadas.
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.
Por lo tanto, aquel quien resiste la autoridad se opone al mandato de Dios, y aquellos quienes se oponen a ésta recibirán juicio sobre sí mismos.
Así que, el que se opone á la potestad, á la ordenación de Dios resiste: y los que resisten, ellos mismos ganan condenación para sí.
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.
Pues los gobernantes no son un terror para los que hacen el bien, sino para los que hacen el mal. ¿Deseas no temer a aquel en autoridad? Haz lo que es bueno, y tú recibirás su aprobación.
Porque los magistrados no son para temor al que bien hace, sino al malo. ¿Quieres pues no temer la potestad? haz lo bueno, y tendrás alabanza de ella;
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Pues él es un servidor de Dios a tí para bien. Pero si tú haces lo que es malo, teme; pues él no carga la espada sin causa. Pues él es un servidor de Dios, un vengador para ira sobre aquellos que hacen mal.
Porque es ministro de Dios para tu bien. Mas si hicieres lo malo, teme: porque no en vano lleva el cuchillo; porque es ministro de Dios, vengador para castigo al que hace lo malo.
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.
Por lo tanto, ustedes tienen que obedecer, no sólo por causa de la ira, pero también por causa de la consciencia.
Por lo cual es necesario que le estéis sujetos, no solamente por la ira, mas aun por la conciencia.
Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
Porque por esto pagas impuesto también. Pues las autoridades son servidores de Dios, quienes atienden a esto continuamente.
Porque por esto pagáis también los tributos; porque son ministros de Dios que sirven á esto mismo.
For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, continually doing this very thing.
Paga a todos lo que le debes a ellos: impuesto a quienes debes impuesto, tributo a quienes debes tributo, temor a quienes debes temer, honor a quienes honor es debido.
Pagad á todos lo que debéis: al que tributo, tributo; al que pecho, pecho; al que temor, temor; al que honra, honra.
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
No le deban a nadie nada, excepto amarse unos a otros. Pues aquel quien ama a su prójimo ha cumplido la ley.
No debáis á nadie nada, sino amaros unos á otros; porque el que ama al prójimo, cumplió la ley.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
Pues, "NO COMETERÁS ADULTERIO, NO MATARÁS, NO ROBARÁS, NO CODICIARÁS", y si hay otro mandamiento también, está resumido en esta oración: "AMARÁS A TU PRÓJIMO COMO TI MISMO."
Porque: No adulterarás; no matarás; no hurtarás; no dirás falso testimonio; no codiciarás; y si hay algún otro mandamiento, en esta sentencia se comprende sumariamente: Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
El amor no daña al prójimo. Por lo tanto, el amor es el cumplimiento de la ley.
La caridad no hace mal al prójimo: así que, el cumplimento de la ley es la caridad.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
Debido a esto, ustedes conocen el tiempo, que ya es hora para que ustedes despierten del sueño. Pues ahora nuestra salvación está más cerca que cuando creímos por primera vez.
Y esto, conociendo el tiempo, que es ya hora de levantarnos del sueño; porque ahora nos está más cerca nuestra salud que cuando creímos.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed.
La noche ha avanzado, y el día se ha acercado. Dejemos, por lo tanto, a un lado las obras de las tinieblas, y vistámonos con la armadura de luz.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Caminemos apropiadamente, como de día, no en celebraciones desenfrenadas o borracheras. No caminemos en inmoralidades sexuales ni en lujuria descontrolada, y tampoco en contiendas o envidia.
Andemos como de día, honestamente: no en glotonerías y borracheras, no en lechos y disoluciones, no en pedencias y envidia:
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Let’s walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.
Pero vistámonos del Señor Jesucristo, y no hagan provisión para la carne, ni para satisfacer sus lujurias.
Mas vestíos del Señor Jesucristo, y no hagáis caso de la carne en sus deseos.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
